This was a near-perfect movie. It's been highly talked about and so I was eager to watch it. I am glad I waited a bit to watch it with subtitles and didn't watch it raw because I wouldn't have understood it well. FYI it's a highly bilingual film and the characters use both Japanese and Korean heavily in it.

The story is excellent. You can see how much effort the writer and director put into it right from the first scene. While it gets dark and depressing, there is also a light tone to it during some parts. This is the first time I have watched a lesbian Korean movie and found myself highly loving it. While the two women serve as the main characters, Ha Jeong Woo also plays the male lead and has quite a presence throughout. During the entire course of the film, it will give you the feeling of reading a book than watching a film. It's poetic and literary in its narration and the atmosphere of the movie just amplifies all the best parts about the film.

There were a few erotic scenes but I felt like they were tastefully filmed. The girls have good chemistry with each other and Ha Jeong Woo was the perfect barrier between them. I was impressed by how well all three spoke Japanese in the movie (also the supporting cast). Plus the era the film is set in makes it a hundred times more interesting. It's intriguing to see Korea portrayed under the rule of Japan and you can see how much Korean culture was influenced by the Japanese during then. You could watch the movie just for the periodic setting and even then you could enjoy it for that solely as well.

What's cool about the movie is the plot- the conning, friendship, romance, perversion and obsession. There's also a slight revenge aspect to the story which was the main twist and made this movie way more likable. Also the costumes, sets and dialogues are what made it so fun. I swear I blushed during a few parts of the film because I never realized how erotic Japanese can sound with the right diction.

If you wanna know what sets this movie apart, it's the setting/era (undoubtedly) and also the ending. YES. The ending makes it all worth it. The entire 2+ hours will fly by and you will not even notice it. And the twist was so, so clever. Kudos to the writer.

Only watch it if you are over 18 or a mature teen. There are some scenes of torture and hints of BDSM and perversion. They are not too overbearing so do not worry. Just sit down and enjoy it- like me. The ending makes it the best thing ever. TRUST ME.

You know how sometimes you just KNOW that you're gonna like something before you even watch it? This movie was highly awaited by me and I was sure I would end up liking it and... I did!! I wouldn't recommend this movie to many people. You can enjoy this only if you're a diehard Kris fan (like me) or just happen to love lighthearted movies without much depth to them.

Sometimes it's good to let it loose and enjoy a no-brainer for an hour or so. I watched this movie when I had nothing to do and so ended up quite enjoying it. It's a run of the mill boy and girl fall in love story with a question of will-they-end-up-together-or-not question looming over our heads during the entirety of the film. Most of it is silly and pointless at times but the random cheesy romantic sequences were heart fluttering at best.

I have wanted to watch Kris in a proper role where he plays a character closer to his own age and I got that here. He isn't a great actor by any means but I thought he was better than a lot of idols who are venturing into acting. A couple of scenes were really cringeworthy (e.g. The Church scene) but it was nothing I couldn't handle. Like I said, the romance was cute and the film served its purpose of entertaining me. Plus he is a rather good kisser so it helps. ;)

Sometimes the story can get confusing and so I gave it a 7. I feel like a lot was tried to condense in a hour and a half whereas this story would have been better off as a short drama. It definitely had the potential and the cast was great so maybe that would have been better. Another reason I liked it but didn't LOVE it was the ending. The ending was not very clear and I think it would be better if they made a sequel to it add another couple minutes to it for a special edition DVD or something.

Anyway, give this a try if you don't wanna use your brains too much. But the leads can get quite frustrating so consider yourself warned. :)

I think it's somewhat collective opinion that the drama lost its way somewhere (imo after 10 or 12 episodes). What started out as refreshingly melodramatic and promising became a pointless drag later on.

Don't get me wrong everything is great about the drama- the cast, its characters and the introduction. The only thing it did not have was a plot. Actually it did. The sad thing was that the writer tried to fit an excellent 10-episode plot into 20 episodes. That ends up making it 10 episodes of absolute filler and no sense of purpose or direction. It's a shame because it could have been a great drama but resulted in being boring and skippable.

I started this drama knowing about the age gap but I ended up wanting an awesome sunbae-hoobae relationship instead. To me the lead pair weren't very shippable and most of their romantic scenes were cringe. I also found them unbelievable because their back story isn't as strong as it is usually in Kdramas.

To me the second leads were a complete waste. Yoon Gyun Sang and Lee Sung Kyung are both devastatingly attractive people and decent actors who deserved more than they got. Park Shin Hye was at her best in this role. I do not think she is capable of acting better than she did here. Kim Rae Won always leaves something to desire and I am yet to see him in something that impresses me.

There is a chance this drama may end up appealing to some people- fans of the cast, fans of medical dramas or fans of dramas that have lesser makjang than usual. The first four episodes were a lot of makjang but later on it was more of an everyday hospital setup than a revenge drama, which it set out to be initially.

This drama has one of the most forgettable soundtracks I have seen listened to. There is not a single memorable track from this.

To me this is one of the tens of other forgettable dramas I've watched. However give it a chance if you are looking for something where things are not too serious and characters are kidding around. Get through the first few tearjerking episodes and you are in for a mostly light ride with a number of likable characters. Not to mention attractive people. :D

There is rarely a drama like Reply 1988 that comes out once in a while and totally steals your heart. Reply 88 may or may not have been similar to its predecessors but it's a gem of a drama on its own. Never have I seen a drama so well-written, acted and executed so well that it sucks me in and makes me smile and cry as each moment passes by. The family of the drama is one whole consisting of so many unique people. There are moments they are good and moments where they behave terribly and yet, they remind us of how they are also human. These people define a family- being together through the good times and bad and cherishing each other no matter what. I happen to be a person glad to be living in the 21st century but this drama made me wanna go back to the 80's.

The romance may have been the main part in the previous two installments but this drama overall outdoes everything on every level for me(opinions may differ for all). I can only call this drama a masterpiece because NEVER have I ever seen or read or heard of such a story in my life before. This drama made me think about the beauty of relations and what kind of love is love. It is a story about remembering the past and being grateful for what you possess.

The OST happens to consist of old songs remade and it is another beauty that only enhances the drama. Every single song is jjang and goes with the mood of the drama perfectly.

When it comes to the cast, the casting was perfect. Hyeri was given such hatred in the beginning but I knew she'd be good. But she really exceeded my expectations too. All other cast members were also cute and Jin Joo will always be my favorite kid. <3

The story in spite of being so beautiful, was flawed. Towards the last quarter of the drama the characterizations went bad and some plots drug out too much. Trying not to focus on the romance at all in the drama kind of ruined it in some ways. The romance was cute but the love triangle wasn't executed properly. I think it's okay because whatever the writer wanted was accomplished. I found myself changing ships midway and Deok Sun indeed ended up with the one I wanted her to be.

This drama was a real charm and gave me 10 memorable weeks which I shall never forget. I'll always rewatch this drama and watching it in one go would be a treat, because it was a torture waiting for every week for the subs to come out.

You may or may not like this better than the "best" Reply 1997 but it's surely an improvement over 1994 and leagues apart from the other two combined for me. But- PLEASE do WATCH it.

N no Tame ni happens to be one of the best J-dramas I've ever had the pleasure of watching in a whie. This drama is a classic example of how a drama should start well and end well leading up to the climax. It's execution was perfect- the buildup, the mystery, the plot, the twists and the resolution. I thoroughly enjoyed this drama and it was totally worth the watch.

I think the plot was really creative and woven very nicely together. The entire sequence of events made sense by the end and there was literally nothing that went unresolved. That, is the power of a good writer who would know just what to do with the characters and situations. The mystery never felt like a cheap plot device and it was definitely depicted well even if it was slightly predictable.

The cast put on some memorable performances. Thanks to this drama I am now introduced to a band of new actors who I am definitely interested in now for future watching purposes. You would suspect literally everyone at one time or the other and even the most random things in the drama tie up well together.

Being a Japanese drama, it had to have its dark moments. By dark I mean things like deceit, abuse and murder. Nobody is a good guy here, which I feel is daring thing for the writer to do. The characters are all a blend of classic nice people with anti-hero/heroine traits and the villains are just.... selfish lol. For me the most fun was when we get to know how the villain has done whatever the villain pleased and destroyed everyone in the process. I mean, the revelation was super fun.

I kind of liked and dislike the presence of a love triangle in the story. I think while it could have done away with any romance, since it was there it should have been better. As in the heroine should have been with the one I wanted her to be with. :P That brings me to the ending. Like I said, everything is very neatly resolved but I dislike one thing towards the end episodes which sort of ruined the ending for me. I didn't think it was necessary but wasn't against it either since things end on a satisfactory note for every one.

I have to mention the music once. I really loved the songs and the background music was well done. Each music piece suited the situations and the editing was fabulous.

Go ahead and watch this drama if you want an actual plot, some good performances and mystery.

There are enough reviews and comments raving about this drama. I am not sure if my review would be of any help but I want to share my thoughts anyway. This drama is what I call a good remake. I am a fan of the original Korean drama and it is special to me as it's the first Korean drama I ever watched. I have to say this version did it justice and in some ways even made it better.

Let's get to the story. The original Full House too much focus on house chores and waiting. The male and female lead wait for each other literally every episode. While this follows pretty much the same fact, it feels less repetitive than the original. Plus there are moments added in the story which not only make it fresh but also much like the Korean version. The story is cliche and the classic will-they-wont-they doesn't become stale in here.

Reasons to like this drama are the hot leads, excellent camera work and the episodes having being shot in both Thailand and South Korea. I think while Rain had his own charm, Mike is definitely good to look at. The cast is lovely and they all fit their roles well.

I think this drama is a must-watch irrespective of the fact whether you've seen the original drama or not. It is light-hearted and good old fun with a decent rewatch value.

I wanted to check out this movie due to its very interesting premise. I am not sure if I've ever seen a movie like this but I thought the concept was really cool. The film's narrative is smooth and it has a refreshing vibe overall.

The strength of the film lies in its story. They have tried to tell a tale which can be viewed as both funny and sad. I was thinking it would be funny throughout and was surprised to see they made it a subtle and quiet film. It is a really slow paced movie. But with each different face came a new actor which I thought was the best part!

The cast of the film is diverse (obviously) and after a while the concept really seemed scary to me. What the movie managed was to get the point across to me about how difficult and impossible it would be for such a person to survive in today's world. Plus, true to its title it does show that it doesn't matter what you look like and what is inside that truly does.

I loved Han Hyo Joo's acting in the film. Her reactions to the main character felt very real and relatable. My favorite cameos were from Seo Kang Joon, Park Seo Jun, Lee Hyun Woo and Lee Dong Wook. There were a couple more handsome actors too but I don't know their names. :P

Why this movie won't get a 10/10 was because it was way too slow, seemed like a part-melodrama and the ending was unsatisfactory. I mean I was hoping for a fairytale-like ending which didn't happen. The ending wasn't bad per se but it's alright to not like it as well, right?

Watch the movie if you're in for a slow movie with a meaningful message.

A Korean friend of mine was raving about this drama. She was like, "Do Joon is so handsome! You have to watch this". Since I like Do Joon being a B2ST fan myself I thought why not. And voila! This drama sucked me in so easily. I thought it was really cute and fun.

Do Joon blew me away here. I actually want to see him as a chaebol/king in any drama because he did a great job of it here. What I loved about this drama was that they stayed true to history and yet played with it in every way. I might not know a lot about Korean history but I know that they at least managed to not distort facts through this drama.

The two episodes go by really quickly and the romance is so worth watching! It will give you flutters and leave you with a warm feeling. Managing that in just 2 episodes is commendable and I wanted more. :D

This drama is enjoyable every single minute and it's amazing how they managed all Kdrama sageuk cliches within these two episodes. Plus the kisses are great too! Give this drama a go, you won't regret it. :D

Describing what this drama is about and how I felt about it are both difficult. While Bubblegum is a generic drama, it was not executed in a way that normal dramas are. This drama wasn't wholly a romcom nor was it a melodrama. It had both with friendship and family elements thrown in together.

What the drama starts out as what it is by the end vary vastly. While we do get clues about what the important parts of the story are, we never get a clear focus on what exactly we have to look out for. While I may blame the writing but I also have to praise it for not making it stick on to a single track and boring the hell out of me.

The story of the leads is compelling and you will find yourself rooting for them throughout the show. Their relationship goes beyond romance and it's like how they mean a lot to each other and without either of them their life is incomplete. They will make you cry and laugh. The main lead's jealousy over the female lead was cute. There are some frustrating parts to the story also like implied incest, illnesses, secrets, manipulative second leads and scheming mothers. While the comedy and romance is present in the beginning, the middle was frustrating as hell. Towards the end the writer tried to resolve much of the issues and did so more or less satisfyingly.

The strength of the drama and the reason I stayed glued on were Lee Dong Wook and Jung Ryeo Won. I thought they made a cute pair and their interactions were really interesting. I was also excited for Lee Jong Hyuk to be playing the rival love interest but his character hardly served any purpose. It was a pity because he is otherwise such a talented actor. The female second lead was also very underwhelming and I did not care for her at all. For me, most of the secondary characters in this drama failed to make an impact and the real reason to sit through 16 hours was purely the leads.

The OST of the drama is fantastic and has been on my playlist as and when the songs kept coming out. It really fits the indie mood the drama tries to portray and blends well with the situation. In fact, the soundtrack is one of the strengths of the drama.

While I think it was nice to watch it once, the story isn't quite unforgettable to make me rewatch the entire thing. I however loved the kissing scenes and the leads' scenes which I may check out on Youtube later.

Watch this drama for something different and fresh but don't expect too much out of it and be prepared to shed tears.

If you're looking for a light-hearted Japanese romcom, look no further. This is the drama for you.

I had been craving some Yamapi and I haven't seen him in anything romantic since Buzzer Beat. All the glowing comments and the main couple were enough to convince me to watch this drama. While I have not read the manga, I still liked the story. It was cute and refreshing. I went in to watching it without realizing that Yamapi plays a monk here (yes, really!) and it turned out to be hilarious. Although he would have been hotter in Western clothes, traditional suited him nonetheless. Plus, he had enough of shirtless scenes to keep me satisfied.

I loved the cast. They were all good-looking and easily likable. The best part of the drama were its multiple love stories instead of focusing too much on who the main girl would end up with. There wasn't a single couple I disliked and I liked all permutations and combinations of all characters with each other. Lol. However, the highlight of this drama for me was the love story between Arthur and Momoe. I just could not get enough of them and Arthur was pure pleasure to watch. The actor impressed me immensely and I might check out more of his works. Plus, he spoke really good English!

I expected the drama to not drag at all, but it did and became repetitive towards the end. The will-they-wont-they drew out too much even though the answer was obvious by midway. But, the characters in the family and at ELA never became dull. The temple characters (especially granny, you stupid woman) weren't my favorite except the little kid who killed me with cuteness. <3

The music was okay and nothing fantastic. The strength of the drama lies in the cast who did a wonderful job and an interesting part was the amount of English spoken in the drama. The cast did seemed to have worked hard on their English speaking and I guess it must have been hard for them to memorize so many lines. So kudos to that.

The ending was cheesy and the main love line annoyed me a bit towards the end. However, it was good entertainment throughout and I enjoyed watching the drama. However, it is not really worth a rewatch apart from Arthur-Momoe scenes (BL!!!!).

This drama was cute at times and annoying at others. Exo is probably the only reason I sat through it entirely. I am not sure any one who is not a fan of Exo would even enjoy this or even consider watching it.

The story isn't that good, except it's like a fangirl fairytale. I would be lying if I didn't at least admit I wanted to be in the main girl's shoes. Being a maid at Exo's house with Chanyeol and DO pining for me? I'd take that any day over my current admiring-them-on-my-screen position (obviously). While I liked the idea of the story it was a poor execution. It was boring and bore no laughs after the 12th episode.

It's amazing how Korean dramas manage to drag even in these super-short series. The characters were much like any Kdrama with the jerky main lead, dense girl and a pining second lead. I don't know why they took Baekhyun among the four main guys. He was awful at acting and Kai would have been a better choice as he was at least less annoying. The four guys makes it, what- E4 (Exo4)? BTW the wannabe-martial arts brother was mildly humourous among the cast.

I love the song sung by Baekhyun for the OST. I'd recommend it as a listen to everyone. Watch this drama only if you have time to kill else don't even consider it. A 7 rating for bringing Exo onto my screen and making a fangirl's wishes true on TV.

Noble My Love had the potential to be a full-fledged drama. Such a shame that this enjoyable piece of work was so short. I went in to watch it because of Jaekyung and the actor I had seen in a drama previously who I knew was not bad. What harm could happen if I tried it? The first episode was just 15 minutes long and I would drop it if I didn't like it. But then what happened? I marathoned through all 20 episodes.

This drama is a MUST WATCH for hardcore romantics. I happen to like Kdrama romance but this one has SO much of it that I wanted them to stop. They honestly include all romance cliches possible in the story and to just keep entertaining you episode after episode. The main couple were cute as hell.

Jaekyung is so pretty I could keep staring at her forever. I don't blame the guy for falling heads over heels for her. I also liked his brother and wish he gets his own spin off because he was so cute. Plus, the little animals featured in the show are also a treat to watch.

The soundtrack isn't the best because it doesn't even require one. Anyway, I highly recommend this drama to everyone because it a short, harmless piece of fun and you'll come out thoroughly entertained. Enough said. Go and watch it NOW.

I've enjoyed watching 'She Was Pretty' every week without fail since it started airing. In fact, this is the first drama I've watched most of it raw as I couldn't wait for the subtitles. It's like those old-school addictive dramas where you just wanna know what happens next. :D

The story isn't special nor is it different. It's like a generic Bollywood movie plot blended into Korean style. Yes, there's a Bollywood movie of a similar premise which I happen to dislike but this drama is way better. A drama which was a strong 9, the rating went down to an 8 because of a few issues which I couldn't overlook- the revelation happens too late and the last episode was downright awful.

Anyway, thanks to this drama I discovered Park Seo Joon and he is so handsome! I was skeptical about the drama as I didn't know the cast very well but they managed to make me like them a lot. Hwang Jung Eum has been on a roll since Secret. Seems like she's an actress whose works can be trusted. She seems to pick good dramas most of the times. She acted well in this drama as well. Also, Siwon was wonderful. He was cute and I managed to have Second Lead Syndrome a lot of times in spite of Park Seo Joon being there. :D

This plot may or may not be for everyone but I really like cute stories based on childhood love. Plus it had a good soundtrack. A couple of songs really stood out for me and I have them on my playlist for more than a month now.

These days romcoms themselves are rare and watchable ones are even rarer. I am glad I decided to give this drama a go because it was definitely worth all the time. Sadly, for me hardly any drama possesses rewatch value so I am gonna rate it low on that.

I just realized I hadn't written a review on it so here we go- My Love Eun Dong is one of the best dramas I have seen in 2015. I was a bit skeptical about starting it but the soundtrack sounded nice and the cast was good so I gave it a try. Once I started it I could not stop watching it. In fact, it's been months since I marathoned a drama like I did with this one. However, I somehow think this will go on to be one of the lesser popular dramas irrespective of how good it was. I think it's definitely underrated and sadly it will not everyone's cup of tea.

What I liked about the story was how it incorporated all K-drama cliches from years before and presented a nice, smooth story. The FEELS the drama gave me was immense. The main guy Ji Eun Ho has one of the purest loves ever in a kdrama. I loved how dedicated he was towards her and literally never thought of anyone apart from her, neither did he give up on their love.

This is one of those dramas where you won't be sure whether it will be a happy end or a sad end. The story is kind of sad throughout and when I imagined a sad ending, I really thought it would be hell depressing. But the fun part here is you won't be sure how the leads will EVER manage to have a romance or a proper relationship with each other. Plus, there are a few mysteries which keep the story interesting.

The drama is very much an old school kdrama with star-crossed lovers and a whole lot of scheming and manipulations. It was seriously so entertaining. The splendid chemistry between the leads only increased my awe for it and not lessen it in any way. The soundtrack is pretty good too.

Like all kdramas ever, the last four episodes are sort of a drag and you might find yourself skipping some scenes. I liked the ending a lot. It fit in nicely with the story. I think I made a good decision watching it but I am not sure if I'll rewatch since I hardly ever do. Highly recommended if you like melodramas and pure love stories.

One would expect a 'Warm and Cozy' drama to stay like that. However this quickly deteriorated into a boring and pointless drama. Don't get me wrong. The leads, romance, atmosphere and setting are all lovely. It has its strengths and won't fail to entertain you- depending on what you think entertaining is. If you're looking for some laughs, random cuteness and eye candy this drama is for you. Else, look away.

This drama can best be compared to Full House. Their resemblance at times was eery. Both dramas have a bickering couple, cuteness, a killer OST and a lot of repetitiveness. It's basically the whole back and forth of will-they-wont-they. The thing is you already know the answer and if you are not patient or if you don't have a lot of time on your hands you'd just want to give up.

I wish this drama could have remained the way it was introduced. A bit random but fresh with a lot of appeal. I won't say the freshness died or anything because come on, it is set in JEJU frickkin island. The cinematography was killer and the lead pair is endlessly soothing to look at. I really enjoyed the old school Kdrama style it followed at times but during others it made me want to tear my hair out.

I didn't have the will to rate it higher than a 8 nor did I have the heart to rate it lower. The second leads are terrible in the drama. The other couple (hyung and the diver lady) were the funniest till their relationship had nothing left anymore.

I want to mention the little attempt the drama makes at encouraging people to try living in Jeju- including foreigners. I liked how they have little programs for people to adjust to the lifestyle there. Plus they showed a really nice relationship of the people living there. The mayor was shown as a sweetheart to all the people and the way he went around in his bicycle was adorable. <3

Baek Geon Woo was a cutie at times and a jerk at others. I wish Lee Jung Joo could be a bit hard at times but she was too soft-hearted. A classic Kdrama heroine in short. Think of Full House and the characters are almost a replica at times. I dunno if anyone else felt that way or not but I did.

Anyway, I had a lot of issues with the drama but couldn't get to rate it any lower. Like Dramabeans says, how much I enjoyed it v/s how much it deserves- I'd say an 8 v/s 6. That's it. Now decide for yourself whether you wanna watch it or not.
