I know right.. they make these life and death or highly complex or difficult decisions whilst "casually" talking drinking tea... OMG.... I cannot live in that era for sure... and as three "wise"/wily and add PM lin (all battling their wits with the emperor... sigh the emperor surely is such a crafty one when all ganging up and still falling short)....
Actually Gong Jun is actually not too bad in this drama.. seriously he is acting ok. I dont see any chemistry with him and the FL but him on his own is not bad.. even his "fighting" is at least not standing there just with CGI effects.

the anime is very very highly rated and has a huge fan base. To be fair, it also changed a bit from the manhua but well it was so popular they bought it. I think its also hard to do a drama based on the anime, the time jumps and some elements just cannot or wont be allowed by censors. So I think we should just view it as a standalone. I do agree that I am hanging on by a thread and only largely because I want to see how it connects to the 2nd and 3rd chapters that I am anticipating as well.

Oh it started because LGX replied to a CP fan with a photo of him and liying at the dinner. Then some fans (supposedly liying or who knows) accused him of trying to play up the CP again despite having a girlfriend and a new show coming up. Then Liying came back to "help" and posted the same photo and said she has it too. And told him to "behave" and told fans not to incite fights they are good friends.
Then LGX replied her to say "yes my "sister" only you can control me (or thats how fans interpret it. He said something in chinese only the 2 of them understand probably).
Then there is this latest cartoon of the episode. :) It just shows Liying as the rabbit "beating LGX" (the caption is that their CP fans are very strong, no matter what happens between the parties - like LGX's gf was shown, and Liying saying they are good friends, CP fans still insist they are a couple or want them to be a couple! they can "convince themselves no matter what about this CP)
The bottom line is both are at the very least good friends. There is a discussion that during that dinner they were talking about more projects with the production houses/streaming bigwigs but apparently there is no fixed project for the 2 of them as yet. Nothing confirmed yet.
Oh PM Lin (episode 23) Amazing... !!!! ARGH!!! actually all the oldies are sooo well versed in dealing with the emperor and each other.. gosh how tiring it must be for them to live their life like that all the time!! :)
