Less dramatic unrealistic events. Acceptable plot redemption compared to season 1. Well, it's my guilty pleasure to watch entire 2 seasons with a skip/fast mode button.

Ling was less creepier than season 1 and Xia Lin wasn't expressionless this time. It was entirely better imo. At least we have more looks on Chu Yan and his girl, Ruan Meng (tho I thought they could have done better) but overall, I'm satisfied. Jia Fei and Wen Li were cute, as usual.

In conclusion, it is a ball of cringeness, turns out better and this is quite a stand alone. You don't have to watch the 1st season. You can rewatch it multiple times too.
