Self acceptance brings the best version of yourself.

This show has its own potential to carry its main theme; self acceptance/self love to the fullest. But I wasn't interested in their teen romance plot. It's stopping my momentum to like this show as a whole.

I love the main issue centred on this show which is beauty standard (for me). It ranges from privileges, inner beauty to public acceptance/stigma/standard on physical scars, plastic surgery etc. Short but better than solely focusing the romance plot.

Another thing I like from the show is the male leads characters. They came out as nice, non-toxic high school boys. I certainly experienced 2nd lead syndrome; Sora being teasingly playful but a comfort is his ultimate charm. But I also got it why it should be Keigo. Optimistic and sometimes clumsy Keigo has dynamics with Manaha. Nevertheless I'm not invested in their love story.

I also enjoy the progress of Manaha accepting herself. I mean, it was utterly ridiculous to see people talking about her scar like she brought some deadly diseases. If she was treated like that, how about me? Nevermind. Anyway, she was this extremely polite and nice kid with reactions like, you know how typical female characters in japanese shows are written but she knew her worth. On another note, Riko portrayed Manaha very well.

Their beauty contest school culture bugs me lmao must be a hassle to be in the school; either as a student or a teacher.

Overall, the show is not my favourite but it might be up to your liking if you enjoy true beauty or id gangnam beauty.

Domestic Suspense

If you are a fan of domestic suspense/thriller, you can give a shot to this.

Aishuu Cinderella is like a little fusion/mix of what I've read in some domestic psychological suspense/thrillers. Anyway, they kind of wasted the potential of this movie to be one of the best domestic psychological suspense writings by putting too much on the main characters' relationship development (in the first half). It was indeed intense later on but the suspense build up also felt too short. I wish they showed more on changes in Koharu and the craziness of others. It was like a rush character development. It fall anticlimactic towards the ending.

Nevertheless, the acting performances were superb. Both mains are spectacular in their previous works and the child actor was great too. At one point, our blood may boil lol.

The sounds used were intense too. It suited the creepy, tension concept.

Overall, it is still an enjoyable movie for me. A bit anticlimactic but it didn't disappoint as a whole.

Reunion went wrong.

It is actually a well-crafted story. There is a build up tense, an unreliable main character who got pressured a lot, stupid best buds concept and trust issues due to guilt-tripping.

Things started to jumble up after Yosuke attending a high school reunion where he met his trio best buds. They came with a plan to gang up their old teacher who punished them during high school. The plan went smoothly until the teacher was founded dead. The best buds began to suspect each other. Yosuke thought he knew his best friends well but then he realized there were more things waiting to be unfolded.

Yosuke was a messed-up character. He experienced too much guilt due to his past. And yes, his friends were definitely more problematic. As the story goes, you can't trust anyone. They were the antagonists. Everyone acted their parts well. If you are rooting for good acting by brilliant actors, this one worth a shot. Kiichi and the female flirtatious teacher will make your blood boils.

I probably had guessed where things had gone wrong but I enjoyed the mystery and suspense.

Friendship × Romance

I'm not a fan of youth, high school, teen romance. But Sixteen Syndrome carries more than the classic high school romance trope. As the story flows, romance does not matter as much as the dynamic of the characters' friendship.

I personally think it is a well-written teen drama. A pack of minimal angst of youths' emotions is well served in just 8 episodes. I wish they were longer and more developed with their parents and peers. It has the vibe which a South Korea screenwriter would choose to write a more depth elaboration (read : a remake).

The characters are amazing. I enjoy the growth of Mei and Ibuki. Asada has been great tho I could put less care on the romance between him and Ibuki. I wish (again) we can see more on Sakurai. I love their interaction as friends. It is wholesome to see 4 of them on screen.

I like the sounds too. The opening was great and closing felt very underground and dark.

Overall, I enjoy the friendship and growth of youth themes carried by Sixteen Syndrome. It is short yet meaningful. It has the potential to be a complete well elaborated drama but this is jdrama anyway; organized and packed with important scenes.

Literally nani tf

The show has 2 chapters. It started really great, I was hooked and ready to recommend it to others. It has a strong interesting premise but things got batshit crazy during chapter 2. Did the screenwriter lose ideas? Or is it really meant for a parody show?

I stay for the acting performances. They are a team of good actors. Tanaka Kei and Yamada Yuki are versatile. I have known them from their previous works. Yamada Yuki never fails to deliver his crazy character. I enjoyed watching him being extra and all-out. In addition, the kids were immensely great too.

People may have different opinions on this. Some might be liking it and I was in the between. Neither I like nor dislike. It is just quite disappointing because I put an expectation and anticipated it.

Ethics?

Honestly, I rather invest myself in japanese slice of life/thriller/mystery shows set in school. They could be dark but at the same time, it reflected the modern society. As for this drama, I was intrigued by the title. Ethics? I rarely found my experiences with Ethics or Philosophy lessons to be interesting but I decided to give a shot because teaching and learning is my field. I expected a darker side of school's environment, but turned out, it was very relatable.

The drama has no major plot; it mainly focused on the ethics students' real life chunks and how Takayanagi approached them using philosophy which also contributed to his growth as an Ethics teacher. I personally think we can get to know more on each character's life especially Takayanagi but they probably had limitations on screenplays (who knows) since jdramas have been 8-10 episodes only. It has so many potentials to be elaborated as a solid and complete drama as a whole.

My knowledge on Ethics Education is very limited so I cannot simply judge the lesson contents delivered in this drama. Nevertheless, I like the dialogue session. I'm not a person that opens to a discussion or small talks hence I didn't apply this strategy in teaching but I guess this method is applicable and meaningful to Ethics. It was brief but it did spark interests; at least for me.

I love Takayanagi although I always go against the smokers lol. I would have loved Ethics too. He showed another side of an educator; calm and seem hard to be approached yet with the best comforting words and presence. Quite an inspiring personality to me. Also, I love other characters too especially Aizawa. She has been bold and I like her learning spirit. Similarly, Taniguchi in the first episode stole me with him being a comedic relief. I originally found his intention to be a teacher is pure, it reminds me of my reasons to be one, although we were in a different boat.

Overall, as a person who likes to relate and reflect, I enjoy this drama. I learnt a lot!

A dynamic of two professions

A school cop system? It is an interesting system to be introduced in education. However, Asamura is right on it shall not be implemented. But to create a safe school's environment to the students is a long journey.

The story began with Shimada Ryuhei assigning himself to be a school cop in a middle school. Little did we know, the school held some unsettling secrets that have been left buried. Ryuhei is a police with integrity, although he could be a bit emotional while handling the cases. One by one, he slowly revealed the truth behind everything.

Overall, I love Ryuhei's straightforward character. He could snap and knock some realistic senses to the teachers, students, parents and the fault systems. He gave better life lessons than the teachers to the involved parties. On another note, Asamura tried her best to be a good teacher which I understood but again, Ryuhei saw things more clearly. I like his words on them being slaves to the rewarding job (teaching).

I also like the relatable stories among the students. The dedication of the teachers, parents' decisions on their children's future, abandonment, etc. They indeed reflect the reality of life. I learnt a lot from School Police.

Every acting performance is solid. I like the students and also Saegusa being a comedic relief.

"I hope someday, the school will be a place where police isn't needed." —Shimada Ryuhei

Head Spinner Part 2

I was so frustrated by the ending of season 1. Like seriously?

This season has been a wild emotional ride because of Shota and his longing for Nana :( He really loves her *sobbing at the corner*

The murder chain probably ended but here we could see the depth of the characters left and unanswered possibilities. Again it set my head spinning because the emergence of suspicions and confusions between the characters. Everyone is a possible suspect! No one should be trusted in this game! The creepy characters continued to twist and mess me up until the end. They were a group of unrealiable informants which made things more frustrating to me.

Overall : It was a well-written psychological thriller.

Head spinner

Although it didn't make any sense for me to randomly talk about the possibility of murdering someome in the middle of gathering, it is still an interesting premise.

There are so many characters! You will get confused if you were not familiar with Japanese names. I felt like I'm studying a drama where I need to give 100% attention to each character. You probably need a paper and pen too to arrange the murder sequence.

I like the main couple so much although it was a disappointment in the last episode. Shota is a good man and Nana is brilliantly nice. Such a great, full of trust and loving couple.

I was so frustrated as the story progressed because I couldn't trust anyone. The writer knew how to twist actions, words and set my head spinning.

Every episode ended with a surprise and made me anticipate more. Definitely unputdownable!

An alright drama.

This is an alright drama. You can binge-watch it after a tiring day. Less conflicts, less misunderstandings and no complex plot. If you were seeking for a complex plot and wonderful character developments, this is not for you.

Major plot is non-existent for me which I have no problem with it. I actually like this kind-of-drabble story because I need a light entertainment. Cringed? Yes. But I have seen too much over-the-top cringe romances lol

However, in term of characters, I didn't find myself invest emotionally on them. Yeah, the chemistry was there and really great but their characters were a bit off. Neither I love nor dislike.

Overall, it was fine in term of a quick watch. Since people brought this along with Coffee & Vanilla, I would say at least I managed getting thru this than Coffee & Vanilla.

Who made this one episode per wek rule? We need to talk.

Imitation is an idol setting drama so I was skeptical because I'm avoiding anything featuring high school romance or idols setting.

But hold on.

I knew I had to at least try an episode because Jun was in it. He was really good in Class of Lies. I believe he was good in his other projects too. In addition, Jung Jiso is not an idol. It's a plus point for me to see real actors/non idols in an idol drama.

Plot : I like the cramped plot. I tolerate the drama better than the webtoon. More sense and realistic. Clearly shows the ugly side of South Korea entertainment. I used to be in the fandom culture so it is relatable. Screenplay can be elaborated more for characters' depth and developments.

Acting : It is fine. There are bunch of idols and I put less expectation anyway. If you were watching dramas for high quality acting, this is not for you. It is mediocre as a whole. Nevertheless, I like the main casts. For me, Jun & Jiso were still shy around each other so you don't see any sizzling chemistry but the innocent polite type of chemistry between them. The same damn feeling when I watch soft jdramas.

Music : Goodness. The production gave all out for this drama and blessed me with tons of great songs; also great voices like Ria and Maha. Jiso is surprisingly so talented. Not to forget "Finally now, it's my time" line remains iconic to me.

Overall, it is a decent idol drama. Perfect for a binge too!

This is so clean for a marriage drama.

Marry Me is a slice of life drama. If you expect over the top romance, this is not for you. It handles realities of; not only marriage but some aspects of life too. Pretty much universal yet heartwarming. The relationship built was indeed pure and a bit formal. But it works for the couple. It was the shape of the couple. I recalled the similar phrase used in Shanai Marriage Honey.

I like every character. No hassle, no overbearing in laws and exes or overdone developments. It is like watching a polite community trying to help each other.

The chemistry was almost robotic due to the screenplay I think. The dynamic was different from Shanai Marriage. Marry Me centres more on the personal developments in accepting yourselves and others rather than romantic relationship between the mains.

I have no issue because it is still a light drama that is safe to be watched on the big screen with your parents.

Dropped but recommended!

Dropping romance dramas are my habit. I'm rating it since I think it is quite a pleasant cdrama for me. It is just I'm lazy to finish it.

As for plot, it was okay. The way it was executed was nice and funny because the actors can act very well. No overdone or trying hard. They are naturally fun and entertaining. The additional background sounds were great; the scenes became funnier!

As for characters, I have no worries. The chemistry was there. They are great. One of cdramas with no stiff acting. Everyone has the quality.

Overall, recommended to those who love romantic comedy. I'm not really a fan of this genre but this is pleasant to be watched.

I have never feel so single

This is perfect for someone who wants to binge a cute fluff series. No villains, no unnecessary dramas. It exists to entertain my single heart *cries in lonely*

It's a typical marriage without love drama but don't worry. It took only 2 earlier episodes of them getting together and the rest episodes were some cute marriage challenges for newlyweds. It is really simple but I LOVE IT. It reflects the importance of communication between spouses.

The actings were good. No overdone and Ami chan was so cute! The actress, Matsui Airi really managed the cute character by flashing her million dollar smiles. And of course the main characters' visuals are so appealing. Sparks everywhere; their chemistry is very sizzling and also the main guy, Itagaki Mizuki was only 20? Damn good looking son. I'm sold.

Recommended for a quick binge and heart fluttering moments. I rarely rewatch dramas but extra point to this because I definitely rewatch it.

Got too much free time

Plot : It's your typical romance drama. Quite flat. Characters are not memorable enough. There are times when things can be unnecessary. But I can stand things like MLs suffer and struggling with their feeling toward the FLs.

Acting : Quite good for newcomers? ML stiff expressions can be funny at times. FL is not that bad either? Just their chemistry is not that convincing.

Nevertheless, it calls for a binge when you have too much free time during pandemic. You can use skip button/fast forward for this one.
