at the end of ep18 he literally had no hesitation with his choice, swerved the horse and ran to anle. nice to see he’s wiping the fog away from his eyeballs and helping their relationship go beyond “im just gonna ignore you lol”

i was kinda sad looking at the release schedule but episode 18 literally served. im tempted to just wait till august 6th then binge the whole thing

di cheng en really referred to her relation with muqing as “taming a dog” LMAOOO. i wanted to pity her bc i thought she genuinely held him as a friend but recently she’s become more and more corrupt, that line proves it.

han ye maybe somewhat blind be he eventually picks up on little signs and see throughs her act, itll be more exhilirating after the "omg why am i spending time with a fake when theres my true love right in front of me" arc

lowkey agree, even though she's set to be seen as someone with a pitiful backstory with corrupt ambitions, the story's set to build up to the final reveal, will be worth it

i still wished it would release like the episode guide; 2 eps per day. still better than some dramas that ghost you for three days 💀

yea it seems that for the overall revenge plot the fake dzy's screen time will pass soon

i haven’t read the novel but im quite sure of my speculation: she told mingxi that she must let go of her feelings, which is why forcing him to choose to side with di cheng en or herself during the banquet would either crush her feelings or have them reciprocated. she already knew that he couldn’t let go of the past and would most likely side with cheng en, that’s why she mentioned her inkling of hope to mingxi.

i believe that bc it differs in pacing in comparison to other revenge/political plot dramas, it may feel hard to adjust or even like the show. many had high anticipation like you bc of cast and plot but it’s a trend that the most unappealing factor is the pacing. i still feel anticipation for each episode but it’s understandable that many consider it slow

does that mean the episode guide is wrong bc it says two episodes per day starting after ep15?

since the drama is 39 eps the rising action will not immediately take place, this may feel weird for people used to fast paced dramas and its understandable. he will get more screen time with FL only after the identity is revealed, and the ep17 trailer revealed that he is growing suspicious.

as much as i also dislike her, it wouldnt be a 30+ episode costume drama without an intervening romantic third party lol. i think the whole "suffering 10 years" comes from her own ignorance of the situation. she was taken as a beggar so she probably never received proper education besides learning to mimic dzy hobbies and talents. she's unlikeable bc she could ruin the whole revenge plot, but her mentality stems from lack of social interaction. being sheltered has only corrupted her. im only speculating bc i havent read the novel but i dont think she'll be a major character to the end. theres the subplot of the northern qin princess and her brother and also the main revenge plot.

the plot does pick up imo, a revenge plot that takes 39 episodes will evidently be more slow paced but there is definitely action coming soon after ep7. i just finished ep15 and i think the plot is moving steadily

imagine if it was like a special edition novel lol
