His is not smiling, but his gesture shows that he cares for her, making sure it looks perfect but there is no caring emotion in his eyes. His eyes are emotionless.

How good is LYX acting, u can make each of his scenes as a GIF and repeat it over and over again, each one tells a story, never too much just right just enough.

How they praise him in China, Leo acting can be justified frame to frame. Usually, each drama we have 1-2 highlight scenes that people remember most, just like Runyu, looking back at the river, that one of Xianxia most classic scenes to date. But in TTEOTM, we don’t have it, why because Leo performed extremely well in so many scenes. We have too many highlight scenes of him:

The Crow orchestra, The Dream Demon, the madness betrayed in the boat, Several confrontations with YXW, CJM on the punishment altar, ADG scenes with DG 3.0 and many more….

Everytime I watch his fans video creation, I’m still marvel at LYX highly successful character creation. In C drama, we often get mediocre idol type acting, at times we are lucky to see better acting, but rarely we get to see an actor that has the ability to truly create a memorable character like TTJ.

It is an honor for any actor to own one Classic character but Leo already has two: Runyu and TTJ, the Runyu explosion at that time was actually a little higher than our TTJ.

He has another super explosive character, Chu Wanning, but when?

Same this is one of the few which are special to me too. With characters whom complex with many layers.

Oh yes, I did that too. Watching the side characters more closely. And trying to think out of the box as well. Mind share your insight if you have time and don’t mind. I have never been this hardworking thinking and watching to understand the characters. Normally I will just watch and done with it. Very fast I may even forgotten most of the detail of the story. I can't get over how the name of Shangguan Tou's mother is Bailu 💀 Of course, it used different second character (his mother's name - 白露 ¦ Bailu, the actress' name - 白鹿) so it's not exactly the same but these names are still homophones and made me choke on my water when they first revealed it.

TTEOTM not really a fluffy romance drama. If you wanted a romance HE, then this wasn't the drama for you.
TTEOTM is about great love for the world and personal love. Tantai Jin didn't die only because he have to, he did it in his own terms. Control his own life. He managed to control his own destiny that shackled him. He fulfilled his goal in his own terms. Tantai Jin managed to control his own fate to the extent he could - and in the process saved the 3 realms and li susu! I get why some people were disappointed because who wouldn't want a happy ending? However, to put the whole series down just because ending wasn't what you wished for is something that I don't really get.

Btw, I'm so glad TTEOTM aired safely and successfully🙏❤ even if it didn't have a summer release it still made a big wave and a lasting impact, breaking records left and right❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The producer is really trying to be out of the box, from Story, Dark ML, CGI, Arts and it’s boldness not to chose Full Blown HE, despite the leaked script is HE.
They surely know that the impact will be for their rating. They are unfortunate to become the 1st victim of the 40 eps role. But their braveness is what making TTOETM not an assembly line drama.

I saw sev prof movie/drama reviewers mentioned: Something new like TTEOTM might only comes once in Ten Years and become a benchmark of the Acting, CGI, Arts etc of Xianxia. While another said: TTJ is one of the most successful character creation in Xianxia.

Yeah! TTEOTM is not the usual commercialise drama that can be like by everybody. I feel it’s the perception of the viewers that play a big part. If you watch for a good story and acting, one will totally understand this drama and love it. But if you watch it for searching of a break from reality and happiness, this may not cut it.
For me, this drama still have a lot of lingering effect and I enjoyed re-visiting and discussing it. Drama that gets me thinking is inspirational to me.

TTEOTM is for viewers with a higher level of tolerance and maturity. Those who only like fluff won't be able to survive TTEOTM.

Seen so many dramas over the past couple of decades (since I was a wee child) and hands down this is THE BEST one out there, hands down. Yes even with it's flawed characters (nobody's perfect) and sometimes makeup mishaps etc.

Can't give enough credit to the TTEOTM team, kudos to them!

I checked the recent reviews and we are getting more and more lower scores. Out of curiosity I checked their lists and what they rated high and low.

My conclusion: Those who likes HE fluffy modern drama should not watch this drama; some really bad acting modern drama gets high rating while this gets low rating.

Those who hates fictional complex relationship, fictional abuse, fictional blood cough, fictional angst maybe should stay away from this drama rather than giving it a bad review.

I think I agree, this drama is for those who perhaps is more mature and can differentiate the difference between real life and FICTIONAL stories. I love complex and angsty FICTIONAL story because they are FICTION…..I Love a drama that linger on me for a long time and make me question so many aspects in the drama esp. the cause and reversal…..and that’s what TTOETM gave me

I’m still deep into TTEOTM and even afraid (although desperately want) to re-watch…..
That's why TTEOTM despite it's flaws is my best Xianxia ever, AOL (my first C drama)- move away...
(Still love Runyu to death, can't decide if my no 1 character is TTJ or Runyu)

I also understand perhaps those who has it hard in their real life, TTEOTM might not be the suitable drama for them. They are happier with Sweet Happy Rom Com.

Honestly, now that I think about it...it is not so hard...
But the problem is, probably because my brain is used to literal scenes...or literal explanation here and there in c dramas...
But you know after 2 weeks, the more I take time to think about it...the more I understand and think how beautifully made this drama was...

It's totally understandable that you had lingering dissatisfaction. The ending was wrapped up too quickly and we had to make our own inferences from a couple of montages in the last 10 minutes.

To be honest, when they allotted almost 7 episodes to the Bo're arc, I knew deep down that the resolution will not be satisfactory because there simply won't be enough screentime left. There are more important events that need to be shown in the mortal and immortal arcs that are the central to the story.

It is what it is though and it is good that we have great forum members who are able to shed additional light or perspective through their reflections. 😊

In the script later after he died, everyone understands their saviour was TTJ. I believe they cut this short, but even though that the case, LSS is alive, she witnessed everything. The last thing she wants is for the world to never know the men she loves is branded as evil and knowing her character too. Of course she told that story to everyone, incl the reason CJM killed his master.

Jin = Ash.

His master gave TTJ a new name, despite knowing that TTJ was the devil fetus, was because his master knew TTJ's pure heart and kind soul. He knew TTJ will choose to save humanity because of all the love he had in his heart.

The new name was also given to symbolise new hope and new life for TTJ.
