No concept of consent and a wasted storyline opportunity Type's character

English isn't my first language but I hope you can understand.
This show has no idea what consent is, seriously.
The only reason it's popular it's because the main leads are handsome and there's more than 1 sex scene.

The way they treated Type's character is really sad, his relationship with Tharn is SOOOO toxic and the plot should have never been about them getting together.

Spoiler warning:
1- Type being raped when young is used as an excuse to make this an 'enemies to lovers' and only taken 'seriously' in 2 scenes.
2- Tharn abuses his position as roomate to touch Type, every night, while asleep. Even after he knows about Type's reasoning to being homophobic (him being raped as an 11 yrs old)
3- There's honestly no reason for them liking each other, other than sexual appeal. They just have a crush on each other out of nowhere.
4- They start their sexual relationship with Tharn sexually abusing Type. That bj scene, Tharn was NEVER given consent; and they had sex because Type owed Tharn. There's also other scenes where Tharn uses force against Type (him forcing himself after Type fllirted with some girls)
5- Tar being gang raped is also used as a side story to make TharnType relationship a bit harder (although it was treated in a better way than Type's)
6- For some reason they tried to excuse Lhongs (Tharns best friend) actions.

They should of used Type's, and Tar's, stories to actually talk about male rape survivors. How the media doesn't care about victims but only sees them as income (it was briefly mentioned by Type but it should of have been WAY MORE IMPORTANT). How Type was raped by a man, but latter discovers he likes men, and how that affects him.

This is NOT a BL/Romance/Getting together

You can se my individual reviews are high but the overall is low, in comparison; that's because I personally really liked it but at the end of the day this is a review for people that haven't watched the show, and there's a big chance you're disappointed.
Normally BLs have 2 main characters, and they're the main relationship; and have other side stories (most of the time other side relationships). That doesn't happen here, this isn't a story about Tian and Phupha starting a relationship, it's Tian's story about personal growth.

Story:
The relationship between Tian and Phupha is a side story, I found it interesting and sweet but I must warn you, it is VERY slow paced. It's also the only romance story, so you don't really see couples being couples. They do have romantic scenes, but they're mostly longing (wanting something but not being able to have it), even when both know the other likes them. They do have a reason to not act towards their feelings, despite knowing the other person feels the same. So depending if you like angst or not you may like it. I loved it, but I can see people that disagree.

If the relationship isn't the main story, what is it? Tian's character development. The entire series is about him, and everything that happens is to improve him as a person. His relationships (romantic, family and friendships) are enjoyable and sweet. I liked all the characters, however besides Tian (and Phupha in a much smaller account) no one has much of a character development.

Acting:
It's good, not over dramatic, the way they speak and their gestures feel natural.

Music:
Good, I liked the way they also used covers by actors of the series, specifically Aye Sarunchana (Torfun) and Earth (Phupha).

Rewatch value:
I enjoyed the series, on a personal level would give it a 9/10 but I honestly would only rewatch Tians and Phupha's scenes. Or rewatch the entire series with someone, but not on my own.

Should you watch it?
I do recommend it, but see it as the story of a guy that beats death and doesn't know what his meaning in life is, so he goes to look for it. In the process he accepts his life is valuable, and has always been, and that he shouldn't let others (his parents) live through him.

Deep meanings of acceptance and sweet wlw representation.

Its a short series: Ep1 is 5min, Ep2 and Ep3 are 8 min, so could watch it at any moment.
The series is about Hyunah struggling to be more open with her sexuality, and the fears that it carries.
The dialogues are great and do leave good messages, they could be helpful for people in the closet.
The acting is very good, it seems natural.
The music is great, it makes you feel what Hyunah is feeling, but they don't over kill it.
The series isn't about their relationship but about Hyunah's fear of coming out and her process.
I believe you should definitely watch it, it has a beautiful message and its only 20 minutes (so you'll easily find time to watch it)

This is a movie about trans ppl for cis ppl

TW in this movie: transphobia/rape/sexual assault/implied suicide
I don't have to explain the movie´s plot since MDL already does that, and it's a good summary.
This movie gives a good representation to systematic transphobia, but the representation of trans ppl (women because there's no trans men) isn't good. Which is weird because there's a good amount of trans characters, however we know nothing about them besides the fact that they're trans. This is why I believe the movie isn't for trans ppl, they don't show what's like to be trans, they just portray how the experience transphobia (and trans lives aren't just about being trans, they're also about being people, just like cis)
I wouldn't recommend this movie to trans people, because it only shows fear, and things they might already worry about. However, I believe it's good for cis ppl to watch, so they can see how the system affects trans ppl and why they're still fighting, and why cis ppl need to be better allies.

PD. I'm agender but my gender expression is what you'd expect from my gender assigned at birth, so I don't identify as cis nor trans

This is a crime series but there are way to many plotholes, and they are BIG ones. At the end of the series they reveal information that could have been easily used in the beginning of the series to solve the case but they didn't use it till the end because a 1, or 2, episode series wouldn't be nice. Which is sad because the crime aspect was interesting. There are also some inconsistencies with what they say during the autopsy and what we see that happens during the murder, but it's easy to ignore (unlike my last plothole).
The relationship with Tan an Bunn, I feel it's rushed and a bit out of place, since it starts while Bun still suspect Tan killed his best friend (this isn't a spoiler since we know she dies and Tan is a suspect sin episode 1).
However, I still recommend, I really enjoyed it. Who the murder is, and the whole case, does makes sense and unfolds in an interesting way. I am currently watching it again (with my boyfriend), we are in chapter 4 and he's enjoying it aswell.

It feels WAY longer than it actually is

Story:
It's a simple story: 2 high school girls, and one (Yoo Hye) has feelings for the other (Da Joo). Da Joo is starting to text a boy and Yoo Hye gets jealous. This short film is only 19min, but I felt it lasted an hour, I kept looking at the remaining time but decided to finish it because it is short. You don't really know the characters, I neither liked nor disliked them because I didnt get to knew them. (I have seen shorter films in which you do get to know the characters).

Acting:
I don't have much to say, it was acceptable. Not awkward but not impressive.

Music:
I can't remember it, like at all

Rewatch value:
I know I wont watch it again.

Overall:
I found it boring but it has a nice cinematography and isn't awkward to watch.

The timeline in this is weird as frick, they redo their entire relationship from season one but after Pete left school (which would change Pete´s rlationship with Ae). The first half of this season is basically their story from LBC, with the smallest changes done.

Also I never liked how Tin forces Can to go out with him and abuses his power (money) to control Can and ensure a relationship with him.

The acting is also pretty bad because Can never seemed to be confortable with Tin, even after they were already in a relationship.

TW: bullying, stalking, rape, self harm, suicide attempt, depression, gaslighting, PTSD

If after watching the trigger warnings you think you can watch it, think again because the rape and suicide attempt scenes are VERY explicit.
In BLs too often we see sexual assault/abuse scenes that are meant to be seen in a romantic way, or just ignored. Too often one main lead will force the other because they wanted it and they end up together, and that´s a trope I have always hated. In this series we see what really happens in those situations, it isnt nice nor romantic.
This shows us Keng and Man as stalkers and manipulators that believe they deserve something.
Keng ignores Shin when his feelings arent reciprocated, and rapes him. Then tries to manipulate and gaslight him.
We see Shin´s suffering, his depression, his fear of Keng and how he even tries to commit suicide.

ThingsI didnt like, or could have been improved:
1- I believe the rape and suicide attempt scene didnt have to be that explicit.
When I started this drama I already knew what it was about, but didnt expect those scenes to be so upfront.
2- I read a comment that in the novel we see alot more of Shin´s recovery, and even him helping other victims. I REALLY wish we would have gotten that in the series.

Embrace is the story about Lee coming out to her conservative, and religious, mother. Lee has accepted her sexuality (and even has a girlfriend) but hasn't come out to her mother, out of fear. In just 14 minutes we see that Lee is in a healthy relationship but wishes to be public about, she even addresses the problem with her girlfriend. In the meanwhile we get to see her mother is prejudiced against the LGBT+ community.

I really liked this film, and sent the link to my friends so they could see it as well.
My only complain is that Lee (her actress) seems a bit old to be in college (I imagine is college).
Everyones actings is good, not impressive but better than average.

Wish it was longer

You can watch the entire series in 1hr so there isn't much time to develop characters and relationships.
I wish it was longer because despite everything being rushed I still enjoyed it, so I just wish they had a better time to establish they world, the magic in it, the backgrounds of the characters, relationships and friendships. I think they did what they could with the time but they still needed more space to develop.
However, I still recommend it. It's short, cute, fast paced but not forced.
And Its pretty gay for a chinesse series, If I didn't already knew about the censorship in China this series definitely would not make me think there is any.

Wrong, that the summary

The ONLY positive thing about this series was the 1st episode, and only because the friendship between the Pan (the lesbian girl) and the rest of the swimming team, everything else is trash. And I have to specify that their friendship during the first episode because after they friendship is used so they can bully and manipulate Fah.

I knew this series existed because I was seeing through the "lesbian character" tag, and the way they treated her... OMFG... Pan is in college, so 18 - 20ish, and has a crush on a highschooler (I'm guessing she's 17). I'm 20 and can't see 18 yrs as potential partners so I DIDNT like the age difference here; unless they later clarify that their 18 and 17, or 18 and 18, it's not okey. If that doesn't bother you then Pan ways to pursue the highschooler (I don't remember her name) should. For all we know that girl is straight and in love with Fah, and Pan manipulates Fah into helping her manipulate that girl... (in the end i'll add a spoiler I didnt saw but read it happens so...)

The main couple, even worse. How? you may ask, well Waii almost rapes Apo, and they act as if it didn't almost happened.
Waii's father has a relationship with his best friend (Waii's best friend), so there's another HUGE age gap. And from what I saw they started daiting while the dude was his couch so a kinda student/teacher relationship.

It's just problematic, there's so much sexual harassment and assault for 3 episodes that I had to stop.

Spoiler:
Apparently the lesbian character ends up with a man so I wouldn't have gotten the wlw representation that I was looking for when I started this shitshow.
