Does anyone know if Perfect Crown will be available on Disney+ Canada? Unfortunately, it won’t be in the French catalog, but maybe we could still get French subtitles thanks to our Canadian friends.

That’s great, thanks for the info! I just hope he’s really referring to Dear X, because using Backstreet Rookie, which came out over five years ago, feels like a bit of a missed opportunity. He could’ve at least used the new poster! 😄

I actually got a reply from HBO Max France support, and they confirmed that Dear X won’t be available worldwide.
Here’s what they said:
“Dear X is currently available only in selected Asia-Pacific countries. For now, there’s no confirmed release date for HBO Max France. If this changes, updates will appear on our official channels. We’ve also shared your feedback with our content team so they’re aware of the interest from French viewers.”
So yeah, unfortunately no international release for now. 😕 So maybe Viki?

That Korean article says Dear X will be released internationally at the same time as in Korea, while the Deadline report mentions only 17 Asia-Pacific markets for HBO Max distribution : https://deadline.com/2025/10/warner-bros-discovery-korea-cj-enm-k-drama-deal-1236587792/. Since these sources provide different information, it’s unclear which is correct. So, will Dear X be available globally on HBO Max, or only in the Asia-Pacific region as Deadline suggests? It would be great if HBO could clarify this directly.

I know it won’t be available on Disney + in France. Some people even reached out to the platform to double-check, and Disney+ France confirmed that Would You Marry Me will not be released here. So yeah, Disney+ is apparently one of the only “international” platforms that actually leaves some countries out.

Yeah, I totally get that it’s fantasy and I’m fine with that.
My main point is just about the character’s internal consistency even in a fantasy world, I think motivations and feelings need to make sense within the show’s own rules.
If the character can’t feel empathy or love, then having a big romance around her kind of raises some questions.
Not trying to bash the show, just sharing what I see.
I’m still interested to see how it plays out!

I started watching the series and saw five episodes. Overall, it's pretty good: the humor works well, and Kim Woo Bin is great (as usual).
However, I have serious doubts about the female lead. She has been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (psychopathy): lack of empathy, no remorse... It makes their love story quite hard to believe. I know it's fiction, but we all know that a psychopath can fake feelings or manipulate a relationship, but not really love someone sincerely. As a result, the whole romance feels a bit fake. Unless, of course, her third wish is precisely to develop feelings or to be “cured” of her pathology.
I'm still curious to see how the story unfolds, but for now, I remain a little reserved. Am I the only one who finds this story of a psychopath at the heart of a romance disturbing?

Since Netflix (I'm from France) already revealed its October release schedule and this K-drama is clearly not on the list, let's keep our fingers crossed that Viki picks it up instead! 🤞

Shin Ye Eun revealed that her character, Jong Hee, will undergo a dramatic transformation, hinting at emotional shifts and complicated dynamics between the characters. Heo Nam Jun also commented on the storyline's evolution, explaining that the second half explores the lives of the three main characters seven years later, as they navigate adulthood, love, and friendship still clumsy, but growing.
