When I do watch Korean fantasy rom-com, I just watch for entertainment, and to me, this series did deliver on the whole. The plot was well-paced for the most part, though the ending is expected (loopholes, watered down villain endings and all), because it's the kind of genre and storyline older or longer dramas would need maybe 10 episodes to flesh out and still may not make sense to or please everyone.. idk...

That said, for 14-episodes, it’s as good as it gets... The cast really did fantastic and many memorable scenes of Seo Ri, Se Gye and Mun Do... Already rewatching their past works and looking forward to their future works. The chemistry of main leads is so fantastic and really loved their silly bickering and charismatic delivery.

8.6? Isn't it bit too much for trope drama offered nothing new?
I think it's also giving credit to the cast/acting/comedy/slightly refreshing/unique scenes between leads.. It is unexpectedly enjoyable for me although I dislike such tropes. However everyone has our own tastes so it's not everyone's cup of tea for sure. Edit to add - the sizzling chemistry~~

i'm wrecked. I don't generally like Korean fantasy dramas. MRN is an exception. I want more of their past lives, current lives, future lives.... all of it... more please~~

One of those dramas which I casually watch ep1 and regret right after ep2, because I now have to wish every millisecond passes faster to watch the next episode ~~ T_T

Have been very selective with kdramas. Really liked FL in several of her recent roles so I watched for her initially. Found ML's charisma very unique but only after episode 3 or 4 I became fully obsessed lol... Now I'm a mess, binge watching specific scenes with him in When the Phone Rings, now going into Sweet Home, When the Stars Gossip, Your Honour. (please tell me which others are out there on accessible channels).

I know I'm not alone... HNJ truly shines in this one, acting + star quality + followers exploding~
And seeing the BTS... the leads really bring out the best in each other and making this drama so watchable/bingeable/obsessable

Tomoya's a very sad character. I am not seeing redemption in his arc. Till the end, he's still self-centred. He wanted Misa because she accepted him for who he was and always compromised for his needs.
Also because Reina was pure unhinged. His worldview never truly changed, it was consistent - all about himself.

So happy to watch both leads and their close friends living their best 2nd life. The focus seems more on moving on, and letting go (forgiveness), which has a deeper, more layered purpose in real life than pure revenge.

Best adaptation imho, due to tight screenplay and excellent direction/acting/soundtrack/basically everything.

For more pure revenge tropes go for kdrama version.

this joins a selected few in my list of fav jdramas.

Knowing they'd be original yet not sure what, really kept me on my toes... Especially thinking MIL will be the one dying (Reina killed MIL in webtoon).

Instead, Reina dying the way Misa did, made it full circle.

Iirc, Korean novel had the ex-fiance, webtoon didn't. Since this was based on webtoon, it went the best way not having another villain, focusing on existing characters and their arcs more complete. Kdrama added more ex-fiance scenes than the novel, though she was the one substituting ML's death , she was a terrible waste of screen time

Ep 7 is πŸ”₯
Their "not-a-date" is so organic, so connected.. the build up to the kiss is sooo superbly magically well done omg... not just scenes thrown in for the sake of it

And how can a simple line "chigaimasu" be so earnest yet charismatic?!!! πŸ₯΅ Buchyo πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

All their scenes together are beautiful.

Now i need a recap or theories why ML did what he did end ep8.

Of course this drama is in a league of its own and hopefully carving out a unique ending.

I never noticed photo snippets of the next episodes on Prime, until I saw a related question here

Now I'm staring endlessly at the ep 7&8 snippets waiting for them to turn live πŸ˜‚

I honestly loved the korean version...it had its flaws but I was super happy coz the webtoon was my fave!! This…
Another vote for Kenshin. I'm not into historical era genres but this was an exception. Satoh Takeru performed most of the action/ stunts himself, he's really good in the Kenshin movies.
(I'm old.. watched the first movie back in 2012, rewatching all of them on Netflix now)

So far 🀞.. great storytelling, thoughtful, purposeful and effective scenes. I'm invested in the leads and rooting for them more than just waiting for revenge scenes.

Moments of them sipping tea and chatting, are particularly captivating and therapeutic.

The characters are believable with unique nuances shining through the differences with the K-version. Particularly ML, this version feels alive and real (iykyk) 🀭.

Started this drama cos of Satoh Takeru (Kenshin fan).. Fuka Koshiba's superb here too.. enjoyed her roles in Fermat's Cuisine and Gourmet Detective (somehow all food related lol). no better casting than this 🫢

Reina is well portrayed. Her entire vibe is spot on, without need to show typical sulking expressions.

Hope to enjoy last 4 episodes as much as these first 6 😊
