is this story so great that it needs so many adaptations? I'm genuinely curious

this drama has a more realistic feel to it. it affects the main couple's romance, so some may say it's boring since it's more quiet. But it really is a sweet story. The second couple are good too and have more heavy romantic scenes. the two side couples I didn't care about so much.
As for the villains, I'm not as botheres about feng lin as others are... she doesn't really have much power in the end and she does have her own motives, even though she should just leave fei ni alone! the earthquake is the other villain, otherwise there aren't really villains, like it said it's more realistic

this comment could give people the wrong idea, the antagonists don't really have much real power over the leads

I actually like them more than the main couple

ep 17 they confess their feelings when her parents find the marriage contract

I tried watching the kdrama after I watched this, but I dropped it at ep 5

It was a 9 until the last 3 episodes it went down to 8
