Can someone explain to me the dad part and him gifting Yu Hyuk to her with the blue heart on his upper chest,…
Let's just think of it as them having unfinished business and being given a second chance to finish that business. They use that opportunity to commit revenge. Remember, if they didn't figure out the mechanics (passing the "curse" to someone else), they were still going to die.
At the beginning it was very good, in the middle it was like they lost the thread of the story, like there was…
🤔 This was based on a Web novel of the same title. Your problem is only possible if they deviated from the source material. The Web novel was written by only one person.
Where can I watch it for free?kissasian and other sites aren't working.
I wish people don't just drop bootleg sites out of nowhere. This name dropping triggers monitors against bootleg which then forces the sites to shutdown or change domains. 🤦♂️
Dropped for 4 reasons: 1. His coworkers pestering him if they have already done the deed - not because their questions were part of the job - but just for sh_ts and giggles. Like is his marriage a source of erotic fantasies for them? 2. The same co-worker questioning his decisions to remain in the program (which required invasive detailed reports of their time together) and getting physical - even if you are my friend, try to hit me and see how many of your eyeballs remain in their sockets😂. 3. The series tried so hard to peddle "love before marriage" disgusting coming from a culture who perpetuated the most marriages for the sake of family honor and duty to society - and yet here we have characters actively trying to promote "love before marriage" when their entire culture spent most of its existence in a "marriage before feelings" set up. 4. The pacing was so fast even in a draggy series like this.
Watching this on viki and had to recheck the year this show came out and I was appalled. The graphic quality looks…
Typical JDramas have these dated quality to them especially in this genre. I feel like JDramas focus more on the story than the visuals unlike their contemporary Kdramas. Japanese entertainment export is primarily their anime not JDramas vs Korea whose primary entertainment exports are KDramas and KPop hence the difference in visual quality.
Although, the youngest I saw of Kim Yoo-jung was in Moon Embracing the Sun along with Kim So-hyun as princesses. Interestingly Kim Soo-hyun was the led.
In-law families helping each other out in this series has got to be one of the most positive application of Confucianism shown in kdrama.
Sure it started out with a flipped scenario - usually it's the guys' family giving hell to the daughter-in-law and milking filial piety out of her for all it's worth.
Aigoo! Oh Eun Seo is here too. The number of really good projects she had this year is amazing. I feel like she is the spiritual successor of Park So Yi.
May their careers continue to grow as they grow up.

This is silly and absurd (how they employ 5 municipal workers just to marry off one guy) but for some mysterious…
😂 😂 Wait until you grow up in a country steeped in Confucianism and you won't find it silly. At least Koreans these days have a choice but back then, being unmarried was a shame for the family and the village. They literally flog the parents or the ones who didn't want to get married - The village chief also received stiff fines. So yes it is silly to YOU.
Just suspend your disbelief - you are a foreign person watching a drama which was not created for you alone.
I find it strange that so far there is no information on the cost of production, I searched everywhere but I can…
Most of the budget in kdramas like 50 to 60 percent goes to the actors' salary. Total the possible actors' salary and times 2 would be a great ballpark figure.
I watched the first episode and it's like comedy political thing . Can't decide if it's worth My time cz It didn't…
It tries to have a little bit of everything that it seems the writers can't yet fully grasp what they wanted. The only thing related to the title so far is the Queen trying to coax his sons to be more aggressive and motivated in some scenes. Majority of the scenes had to do with the usual Confucian struggles to advance family prestige.
I am thinking of watching this drama, do tell me how is it ? well ratings and reviews are already saying that…
Like any sageuk, it is rooted in Confucianism interpreted for personal gains. Thus you see families pitting themselves against each other to advance their family prestige. So while the mother in this kdrama does things that Joseon noble families would have relegated to others, a huge chunk of the show also gives you the usual machinations common in sageuk - lies, deciet, torture etc. There's some romance on the side of the grand princes too.
TLDR The dark comedy tag probably comes from the irony and discrepancies found in series. The funniest thing in this kdrama are the court officials labeling actions as treasonous and recommending to resolve it with actual treasonous actions - and all the king does is glare 😂 The show was hinged on the lack of information sharing - a trope less used in kdramas compared to the worn out "misunderstanding" trope.
There's the usual antics rooted in Confucianism interpreted for personal gains. 1. power struggle to advance family prestige - another terrible result of 2. The old granny who truly believed that as the mother of the son of heaven, it was her mandate to select the next crown prince.
is the romance strong in this one? I tend to steer away from heavy romance
I actually prefer dramas where you know they'll end up being with each other but there's no cheesy lines, proposals or cringe moments. Like they just SHOW you they deserve to be together.
On that note, I stalled this on episode 2. I felt like the events were a bit ktraumatic.

I know now she started at 4. (5 in Korean age).

I'll wait for when I have absolutely nothing else to watch.
