They filmed s1 in like 20 days though, didn't they? I think once they start, it should go relatively smoothly.…
Yeah, I think they mentioned it in some live... Unless the translation was off or I misunderstood. That three seasons rumour is so vile... ๐ I try not to get my hopes up much even for a second season, but at the back of my head I keep having that rumour too ๐
Honestly, Iโd be over the moon if we actually got a second season. Iโm willing to wait as long as it takes,…
Yeah, basically what stolenart said already.
Both Changxi and Yanzhao alluded to s2 happening on multiple occasions actually. They're asked about it rather regularly. They once said that they themselves didn't know the specifics hence they didn't wanna give false information before they have an official confirmation... But on other occasions they would nod or say that they don't know yet when, but they'd do s2 as soon as possible. I remember Zhao once said that he'd break out of jail in s2 or something like that ๐
It's a bit of a back-and-forth at the moment to be honest...
As for any official confirmation - there was none. But I guess you could consider the topic being still "alive". Them doing a lot of promo activities together should be a good thing for s2 prospects too, I think...
๐ญSeriously... SCD messed up my entire BL schedule that I had planned for myself ๐ I was chilling, waiting…
Oh, I promise to get back to you, since you're an actual reason why I decided to put it on my watchlist ;) (I am in a SCD limbo currently though, can't move on, don't wanna move on... ๐) I don't shallow-watch BLs either. I hardly ever care or don't care enough about the looks of actors (I mean, I enjoyed Ossan's Love e.g. - I don't know if you've ever watched it - thought it was an absolutely delightful ๐)
At the same time we all have eyes. We can all see how good-looking SCD leads are ๐
They might have a fanmeeting in Jun or Jul.... so if they were to filmed s2 would probably be after the fanmeet…
They filmed s1 in like 20 days though, didn't they? I think once they start, it should go relatively smoothly. Of course there's the whole post-production work to be done too, but I think the process doesn't really take so long once it already starts (?).
Honestly, Iโd be over the moon if we actually got a second season. Iโm willing to wait as long as it takes,…
Same. I don't mind waiting an entire year even (ok, well, maybe I mind, I mind a lot, and it'd drive me nuts to wait so long...๐ but I can do that utlimately) as long as I know for certain s2 will happen. I just need that official confirmation. Or even better: an info of the filming starting or something of that sort.
You should try the original audio with subtitles instead, the emotions and acting feel way more natural that way
There's no version with their real voices (the closest thing to it you could find is BTS footage of some scenes where you can hear actors speak). The original is dubbed in Cantonese because the drama is set in Hong Kong. The reason why it irks you so much is because the actors were mostly speaking Mandarin while filming (minus Matthew Han who spoke Cantonese; Yanzhao spoke it in at least one scene in final episode, but mostly it's all Mandarin later dubbed into Cantonese by voice actors - basically two different languages). I'd say push through, it's worth it ;) Most of us where bothered by mismatched lips and sound to some extent originally too. But the drama is simply too good to miss out on.
๐ญSeriously... SCD messed up my entire BL schedule that I had planned for myself ๐ I was chilling, waiting…
You convinced me to give TMS a try... I'm fine with morally grey characters if they have good reasons/their behaviour makes sense and it's not romanticised in a weird way (like I could never get over and be on board with History 4: Close to You and whatever was that whole brothers plot). And redemption arcs are always nice :)
"With Sammyโs CD, what really got me hooked was mainly the story (and Yanchao ๐ฅต)." I mean, I won't be really judging you for that ;)

I watch all types of genres :)
Our Youth just resonated with me strongly on emotional level. The loneliness of the characters, Minase's detachment, the abuse Hirukawa had to withstand in his life and the fact that they found each other in all of this and their relationship still felt so sweet and sunny and innocent was nearly soul crashing for me ๐ Which is probably why I just couldn't get over it easily and why it's still above any competition from other Japanese BLs (even though they're my favourite on the whole). The On1y One on the other hand was like a comfort drama for me when it aired. My own warm blanket when I felt stressed and depressed. Though in hindsight I actually feel quite bitter about it, because I feel like two more episodes (or less certain plot elements like the teacher's love story, which felt fine for me back when the drama aired but in the absence of s2 I could do without) and we could've got at the very least the birthday confession ๐ Sammy's Children's Day on the other hand, is just a whole package, it has everything (kinda like the two main actors ๐): romance, mystery, comedy, action, great cinematography, fantastic characters, good acting, great theme songs... Yeah, just an entire package of goodies.
I haven't watched TMS, but I've seen you refer to it in this comment section on multiple occasions - I'm getting slightly intrigued ;>
Yeah, I saw the recording of that live. It was pure chaos ๐
๐ญSeriously... SCD messed up my entire BL schedule that I had planned for myself ๐ I was chilling, waiting…
If we're talking strictly BL dramas, I had such a feeling hit me three times: after The On1y One, after Our Youth and now after Sammy's Children's Day.
All three my favourite BL dramas. Two of which ended on a cliffhanger and a promise of a second season ๐
๐ญ Seriously... SCD messed up my entire BL schedule that I had planned for myself ๐ I was chilling, waiting for Soul Mate to finally drop after months of waiting and then, in the meantime, SCD came along out of nowhere and now I don't have a heart to watch anything BL or BL-adjacent at all ๐
Yeah, pretty much. They've hinted at a possible season 2, but nothing is confirmed yet. Hopefully, if we keep…
Oh wow, respect to you! Wish I could understand Greek, I'd go and evaluate your work ๐ Sadly I only know how to say "Thank you" and even that I wouldn't be able to read anyway๐ I'm too lazy, just pay for subscriptions ๐

I only leave them on when a drama I watch is so-so or I'm rewatching sth and wanna see people's reactions to sth I've already seen. When I'm really into a story I turn them off ๐
Well... I think at the very least the money might go more directly to the company, instead of going to the streaming platform (?). You know, since it is the official channel for the drama. I'm sure YouTube takes some cut too, though. I guess watching on Viki or Gaga sends a message to that streaming platform "that's a series worthy of picking up if there's a next season" which should be a good thing (?). But on the other hand, if we think of Viki, there are so many titles, including some major kdramas and cdramas. I don't think a still somewhat niche cBL would impress them enough with the views ๐SCD was a number one show on Gaga a few consecutive weeks, but Gaga is a small platform, I don't know how much good it does. Besides, it's not like any of these platforms would make SCD its exclusive.
Not that I know anything of that type of a business model to start with ๐
