Hehe, I just finished that one yesterday too, but I'm still in the process of writing my review for that.
What other 3rd drama of his did you watch? I'm in the process of watching his really old and first work, "Mountains and Oceans", but I'm more like skipping x2through it.
LOL, it just slowly crept in and the next thing you know they kind of have something going on. It wasn't developed well. For reference, I'd say ML starts to be nice to her in ep 4, likes her by ep 6, and their relationship ups another level by ep 10.
I really love it but...it's an 8.5/10 for me. The extra 0.5 was a plus for Fan Zhi Xin.
The plot was not bad and it keeps you glued, but the villains were kind of weak in my opinion. I felt like the villains were mainly lurking in the background as they were kind of powerless in this situation and only took action when given, and you can already pinpoint who the bad ones were so no surprise there.
The doppelganger plot twist was weird if you think about it, but I just push the reason to the back of my head and pretend it doesn't exist 🙃. I really wish the writer would have chosen a different route where it was something that I could accept.
Everything that was fantastic about this drama was definitely Fan Zhi Xin; his acting, his presence, his character development, and how the director knew how to make good use of his scenes and best angles. My eyes were glued on the ML, I couldn't even focus on other details. The team also put a lot of thought into ML's character from the wardrobe, to his hair and boy those glasses; I was sad when he took them off later 😂. They definitely put his character on a pedestal 😂 and I don't mind.
I can tell that the director did put a lot of effort into trying to make the drama look authentic as possible, like the hospital protective gown that ML had on when he visited the 2 doppelganger after the car crash, and how the ML did CPR on FL, and etc.
I find it funny how I dropped this drama by the first ep when it aired back then but now I'm a simp for it because of FZX alone. I don't remember why I dropped it?...Maybe I got distracted?...But boy, am I glad I decided to rewatch this drama because I fell so hard for FZX. This is me coming from him looking pretty cute and okay in, "Game of True Love". His performance there is still very good too, but look wise, he looked better and hotter in here; maybe because he had more meat on him.
*Bit of Spoilers on FL I couldn't really say FZX carried this whole show because the FL was soooo underdeveloped, but he is the reason why I love this drama so much and stuck through it. As much as I love FZX and his character, I couldn't fathom why they didn't make FL's character better. No effort on her hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Li Mo Zhi was not bad but she wasn't that good either. Plus, it didn't help that she wasn't a very beautiful actress that could zone you out from the ML; I'm sorry to her fans but this was what I thought. As plain as her friend was, sporting short hair, I thought her friend was prettier than her. Also, I felt like her character served more as a plot device just so that the ML and her could have a reason to tie their fate with each other. Her emotions didn't sit correctly with me either; especially with how she was so shocked earlier to kind of accepting being Xingyan out of no where, and then realizing oh it's too dangerous to not wanting it, and then out of no where decided that she wants in on it again because she wants to help the ML. Why? I mean I know he's hot but why? Plus, I didn't like how they made her have so many panic attacks that makes her seem weak. I get it that she can have it the first and second time, but they literally gave her no growth to suppress her emotions. Also, she doesn't care much about her dad nor her friend from the beginning to the end, which kind of makes me upset about her character too. Like girl!...Grow some other type of relationships too. Also, to me and this is just my personal opinion but I felt like she was too cheeky with ML. I felt like her character loved him more than he loved her since she did so much for their relationship. She did literally EVERYTHING herself which makes me feel like she lacks some dignity.
Yes, the title is called "My Lethal Man" in FL's perspective, but ML is the true main character in this show because the story revolves around him.

I'd say stick to your own opinion. I think If you were to watch this drama in one go and skip unnecessary scenes is better than waiting for eps to come out.
I watched this drama because I've seen the Thai version and know the FL actress, but FZX was a nice discovery. I ended up picking his older dramas to watch and boy did I fall hard for him in My Lethal Man (new crush alert) while waiting for this drama. His performance in here is still very good too! I feel like in here he's a bit more flirty, loving, and open in pursuit.
Okay, I just finished this and it was actually pretty good. I like the message that it was trying to send although I wish it would had been executed a little bit better.
All in all, both the leads did such an amazing job. They are the reason why I rated this drama a bit higher even though it is a toxic & thriller type drama. I hope they can pair up again in a different drama in the future.
This definitely gives a differ feel compared to the Thai version. The dad is such a villian and I can't believe I'm also feeling bad for Bai Xia. Aside from that, gosh the leads make me feel all giddy inside. I'm skipping unnecessary scenes just to see theirs. I really love their relationship as of now even though we know a storm is coming.
I've seen the Thai version and this version changes a lot of stuffs from that one, but it's not that bad. It's filling up some of the gaps that the old version had loop holes on. There's some stuff where you go oh yeah, I can see that happening - like I didn't like how in the old version FL was so obsessed with the dad or how they made the mom too oblivious in her own world acting young and partying like she has no kids, and how the 2nd FL was kind of evil but then never really turned evil which was a snoozefest.
My only critic so far is that we don't see FL slowly falling in love in the process of the game bet because she was already in love the ML which comes to my other point where in the old version we didn't really get why ML was so obsessed with FL; however, in this version we know why since he was able to develop that feeling naturally with the FL.
But, I think I know why the game bet part will come into play later because our ML has a secret.
