love this series. my only issue is the makeup, especially with SW… closeups you can see how cakey his face looks.…
Yeah, it’s been annoying me somewhat too, but I think it’s because they’re trying to cover his facial hair/five o’clock shadow with an orangey shade to make him look younger - it’s usually just the lower half of his face that’s cakey.
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
I usually don’t care much either if it’s done tastefully, but for some reason each time they said words of everlasting promises to each other, living together and whatnot, my mind kept screeching “he’s only seventeen!!”. I think the problem for me here, is that Rui didn’t even try to act as a responsible adult.
I do not like greattyme nc scenes, it was just soo awkward, bible face made me cringe soo bad and i felt nothing.…
Yeah, gotta side with you on this one. Kept wondering what Great’s purpose in all of this was while they undressed, giggled and stuff. What’s his motivation to do anything at all? What are the stakes for him personally?
I'm not sure what happened with JJ. His acting in THC was fantastic, but in DFF and this show, it feels like his…
Was just on my way to comment that I find Win as a character sort of creepy for some reason, there’s something about the way he holds himself, how he stands & moves slowly…. So it was interesting see your comment/this thread as well.
I must say, even though I find the writing and the plot in My Demon lacking and lazy, especially the second half, I wouldn’t say that the actors are just pretty faces. Kim Yoo Jung is a child actress, with many years of experience, while I do think the slightly aloof/cringy role in My Demon didn’t quite fit her vibe I wouldn’t reduce her just to her looks.
Same with Song Kang, his character is quite silly in My Demon and it might seem that he’s not putting in any effort in his acting, but having seen him in Sweet Home and in some interviews/bts clips where the difference between his individual personality and the character(s) he plays is rather obvious, kind of shows his range - besides, comical timing isn’t appreciated enough.
Unfortunately, if the writing IS lacking, there’s so much the actors can do to save it.
However, not sure if it was fair that they won an award while the show was still airing, that’s a little meh.
