what??? who hates him because he's even the only reason I'm considering starting this
When he was announced as a lead, many people here on MAL were criticisizing his looks and acting and said he's not worthy to act beside SJ -,-

I feel this drama is like the currently popular cozy fantasy genre, but without any of the fantasy elements. Just…
I even kinda like how they handled the "savior from the past trope" - it was unnecessary but at the same time it will be hopefully resolved soon and the misunderstanding did not drag for 12 eps

It's funny that so many commenters were against JW as the ML, but now I think everybody can agree that he's the brightest point of this drama. He's such a great actor and ML is such a great character. I like that he's really kind but not unbelievable as a character - so many MLs these days seem too perfect, but it's not the case here.
I grew accustomed to the villagers. They are not too much for me anymore.
But the 2nd leads are such a bad couple. No chemistry, no depth, the ML is acting like 16 yo, when he's supposed to be a retired special forces soldier. I just start scrolling on my phone during their scenes.

Ep 1 was really mid. As many people said, the side characters are way too OTT. But what can I do? Jong Won is just too good to look at. I am also a fan of his acting.

No way it's cancelled. It's basically finished anyway, so even if it's on an indefinite hiatus, they can always just air it, like with many chinese dramas. Unless it's the same case as some Warner Brothers' movies recently, that it's been written off for tax purposes. But tvn had such big hopes for this one, I'd find it hard to believe. They will just wait for a better time.

This is really disappointing. First 15mins were fire, but then when we get the constantly confused FL who rejects the whole situation, it becomes boring and tiring. Dropped at ep 2 min 8. No spicyness either.

For me the biggest difference was Choi Byung Mo - I first saw him as ML's father from Flower of Evil. Damn, he was chilling af. And then I watched his other dramas where he's mainly a goofball or a loser XD I still can't get used to it.

Yesterday I actually put the soundtrack on my playlist on Spotify, as these tunes are too beautiful not to listen to them more often. And then I IMMEDIATELY deleted them after they played. Like, I can't be holding my tears when I'm on my bicycle to work or doing shopping lol. I have to create a stay-at-home / angst playlist I guess ><

Don't you recognise LWJ's voice by now? :D
In the last scene, WWX plays the flute above the Cloud Recess's waterfall, so LWJ came to meet him. You can actually find some proof that the ending has been rearranged to meet censorship standards, and the scenes where the main leads meet NHS and play by the waterfall were meant to go after the separation scene ><

I need something as epic as The Untamed, but it seems to me that pretty much nothing can compare. I just keep…
Oh, definitely NiF, just like ShortCircuit mentioned above. Other than that, in terms of epicness, hardly anything can compare to TU... I myself love to return to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, it's also an epic story where angst and loss meets lighthearted humor, but it's an anime, not a drama.

Viki, huh. Funny that Netflix didn't pick it up, considering how big was Business Proposal's success for them. But they had very bad luck this year in terms of picking kdramas, I feel like they missed on every big title (except of maybe QOT). The ones they were counting on fell kinda flat.

3 years after Flower of Evil, I think it's the right time for a new hit thriller x married romance to drop

This is one of the rare cases where the drama is getting so much better during a rewatch. Now that I finally know who is who and what isactually going on, I can fully enjoy all the plots and all the subtleties. In some cases, I couldn't be bothered to watch a drama while reading wiki and reddit Q&As at the same time, and I would just drop it. But here. I don't mind, it enhances my watching experience. But this can be a dealbreaker for some people and I completely understand that this is not an easy drama to get into.
Moreover, I don't think this drama is perfect in all the aspects. It is clearly low budget, and there are a few plotholes here and there. But I don't mind. There are so little dramas that are as character-driven as this one, with such a vast cast of all sorts of grayish characters.
I personally would call this my healing drama. In other so-called healing dramas, it is often the case that in the end we find out that the main leads didn't really do anything wrong. But here both the main leads (and not only them of course) deal with their decisions, regrets and traumas till the very end, and will never truly feel that they can right their wrongs. This is very impactful to me personally - we all will do mistakes and hurt others. And we just have to live with that and try to do our best and find people who stand by our side. We can't let our mistakes haunt us forever.
