Title Double Love
I felt the same way, like when they became a couple???? And when exactly did she tell him about her brother? I…
Right?! I can’t believe they chose to edit out the things everyone was waiting for.

Editing out the brother reveal took away the fun because I just know I would have busted out laughing with all brother/sister confusion hijinks. Not to mention, editing the confession scene - one of the most important parts of a romance drama - out made everything anticlimactic. It had no emotional payoff for what was supposedly a sweet, lovely romance drama.

easy to watch but the editing is jarring, oftentimes leaving me confused because something apparently happened

Title Between Us
I think you're enjoying all of this for the same reasons we are. . .😁I always love the attention to detail…
Haha yeah, I love how comments are collectively sharing their enjoyment for this drama - even if the rating says otherwise 🥲

Not sure for WinTeam but hopefully, they’ll use some of their original scenes from Until We Meet Again! Their total screen time was like 30 minutes from all 17 episodes so it would be kinda sad if they’d take that away from us. However, I also can’t help but think that some major/famous scenes (e.g. their forehead kiss in UWMA episode 6 is also in the chapter 8 of the BU novel) will be re-filmed. What do you think?

As for the emphasis on the consent, I personally think that it’s just part of their personality and relationship. That move screams so much of who Win is and how he’ll treat Team in the future. He knows what he wants so it’s not surprising for him to make sure that Team also knows what he wants, especially since he (Win) is older and has a high position in the club. The age of Team was brought up in the novel so the special emphasis on consent is very much important. So yeah, I don’t think the drama emphasized consent just for the sake of avoiding backlash.

Of course, this is just my two cents. I’m up for reading different interpretations as well!

Title Between Us
The tricky thing about doing Between Us right now is that it has been over three years since Until We Meet Again aired because this story is parallel to that. Hemp Rope, the novel, has the same timeline as Red Thread (Until We Meet Again) - difference is that it focuses on Win and Team. In short, this is NOT a sequel. If viewers of Until We Meet Again were confused why Win and Team suddenly acted like a couple in a random episode, Between Us will show how these two started their relationship.

And as a fan of WinTeam, BounPrem, and the novel, I love everything about the first episode!

While it is not exactly the same, the drama IS following the novel, adding more details, and basically laying the groundwork for those who have not read the source material nor watched the other drama. The first episode also uses some scenes from Until We Meet Again instead of re-shooting them - and I personally prefer that because this is a parallel storyline after all; the recycled scenes incorporate where we are now in both stories.

As for the last part, it definitely exceeded my expectations. So much emotion is involved. The consent scene alone already tells so much about Win’s character - confident and respectful. He is someone who knows himself well and gives assurance not just through words, but also actions. I cannot wait to see more of him. Honestly my favorite character. Not to mention, he is rich as hell (random fact: the resort is owned by his family) - the type to complain about Team’s unhealthy obsession with Lay’s but still ends up buying everything for him. Lmao.

- Interesting and layered characters with a solid backstory behind their actions and personalities.
- Well-done juxtaposition of the two pairs of lovers and parallelisms of some scenes.
- No unnecessary plot lines and no prolonged angst.

Overall, a solid web drama that utilizes its length to deliver a cohesive and grounded story. Directing, acting, writing, and music are on par with full-length dramas

FINALLY. Been waiting for this ever since the cast was announced and the first episode delivered!

Haven’t read the novel but I did watch the donghua which despite the romcom blonde-bad-boy (yes, the blonde aspect is important; blonde Chen Feiyu is important) and rich-good-girl premise already had hints of somberness in it. But I didn’t expect the drama to start the way it started - full of angst, longing, and unresolved emotions - and I love it. I’m a fan of both Chen Feiyu (2000) and Zhang Jingyi (1999) so acting is the least of my worries. The chemistry and tension between Li Xun and Zhu Yun is clearly evident. Not to mention, both are age-compatible and age-appropriate for their characters. I seriously cannot wait for the college timeline and the upcoming heartbreak.

Biggest difference between the drama and donghua right now is Zhu Yun’s characterization. The female lead in the donghua is much more timid and extremely obedient (especially to her mother) so her character growth is another story to tell. I’m not mad with the differences, though. Just pleasantly surprised.

On Don’t Mess with Ex-Girlfriend Nov 2, 2022
For a short drama (this has 20 episodes, 8 minute each). this is really good. This has got to be my favorite one among all short online dramas that China seems to love to produce, especially this year.

The female lead is so smart, headstrong, and unhinged. Even male lead gets speechless when he himself is another crazy character. Together, they are one hell of a batshit, fun, sweet duo. Not even an ounce of awkwardness or shyness from them. I love them together. Literally had me laughing out loud even on my second watch.

The story is predictable and unpredictable at the same time. Predictable because it is still a romance comedy that uses formulaic tropes; unpredictable because the characters are, again, crazy. If there’s one takeaway in the drama, it is to not mess with an ex-girlfriend.

Highly recommended! 8.5/10

For the visuals alone, a perfect ten. If I have to describe Ninagawa Mika’s works (ex. Helter Skelter, Followers) in three words, it would be bold, vivid, and florid. Her excessive use of vibrant colors, prints, and flora is such a distinct style and a feast for the eyes. Definitely one of my favorite directors from Japan so yes, I am biased over every thing besides the writing. Music can be a bit jarring but I absolutely love the state of dishevelment it brings. And don’t even get started with the cast, I love them. One cannot go wrong with Kamiki Ryunosuke and Matsumura Hokuto, especially when the bromance of their characters is given time to shine.

For the story, it could be explained and paced better because there are dull and confusing moments. Overall, not bad, just not as exciting as I wanted it to be. Fantastic ending, though.

In what website did you watch it? I'm seeking all websites I know and haven't found it yet.
The link where I downloaded from was already deleted, but I think the raw video is available on nyaa.si/torrent. Not sure if there are still seeders, though.

Beautiful cinematography, music, and chemistry; it was a solid 8 before the final 30 minutes happened. I rarely hate on endings even if it is sad or ambiguous, but this is a case where it is both without closure and unreasonable.

But yeah, three-quarter of the film is still good. I don’t totally hate the overall story but it IS disappointing.

Randomly dawned to me that Animal World 2 with the same cast isn’t happening anymore or worse, will not be happening at all, because of Li Yifeng.

Don’t do illegal things, guys.

Really enjoyable! Thankful for Viki because I’m sure a lot of potential viewers found MangoTV’s auto-translated subtitles as off-putting. Highly recommended if you’re looking for bite-sized romcoms!

Just finished Who Rules the World and I absolutely loved his character as the Heir of Lord of Qingzhou!

And I did not realize he’s the puppy-like second lead in My Unicorn Girl!
