Another unconventional BL that may or may have been described as toxic (I’d say unhealthy, but not toxic) by some viewers. The main leads did get borderline obsessive and possessive and barely communicated, but there’s just something so fascinating with moral ambivalence. And I loved it so, so much.
One will wonder how the leads survived a stagnant relationship (situationship?) like theirs for three years, but the college back story really solidified that foundation. Their dynamics was messed up, but very much consensual. Their feelings were also deep-rooted so despite all their contradicting words and actions, it was also visible why they fell for one another and how much they loved (and continue to love) each other.
Aw, seeing Kiritani Mirei and Yamamoto Mizuki made me so happy! The former’s comeback after 6 years and the latter’s comeback after giving birth last year.
Add Kashimoto Hanna and Araki Yuko—so much girl power!
I especially appreciated the throwbacks from the previous seasons because you could really see the growth of their characters.
The changes are subtle. The characters obviously did not turn over a new leaf, given how consistent their (questionable) decisions are, but there IS character development. This season delves deeper into the their backstory, thoughts, and emotions.
I’ve read some criticisms on Omori Momoe’s regression as a character, but I truly believe that this stems from always being the sex friend, but never the girlfriend. Her feelings, especially her insecurities, are valid. Her wanting to take things slow is understandable. I’m just so proud of how far she has come.
Everyone is still very much a mess, but I love them all nonetheless. Definitely a comfort show of mine. Hoping for a season 4!
I EXACTLY put it on hold at episode 19 last year! I only continued it last month. I thought the story got better…
Oh, then you’d have no problem with finishing it! I personally thought that the present timeline (episode 22 onwards) was better than their college life. Good luck on finishing it! Whenever that is, of course. Lol.

Yeah, I finished it with the help of the 3x speed option. All I can say is that it is very much consistent—the pacing, characterizations, overall mood, etc.
If you aren’t a fan of some things from the start, just don’t expect great development (especially character development).
Did it get a bit harder to watch around episode 19 for anyone else?

Just realized that two leads achieved new heights on their popularity now thanks to Lost You Forever (Tan Jianci) and Hidden Love (Chen Zheyuan). I’m so proud and bittersweet at the same time because it only means that we have been waiting for soooo long now.
Something about this drama feels so lowkey and organic. Romance is mature, healthy, and just overall lovely. No misunderstandings, no angst, and no unnecessary drama or hijinks. It’s simply a romance - a good and a comforting one at that.
Features a sunshine male lead and a reserved female lead!
IKR!! Yang Zi & Zhang Wan Yi are such amazing actors and their scenes are so spectacular that you just can't help…
“It's not about whether our ship makes it to the end though, it's all about the angst.” Oh yeah, definitely on the same boat as you!
Objectively speaking, I’m not specifically rooting for anyone (for Xiaoyao) as of the moment. I’m honestly enjoying whoever is on the screen because I find the focus on all male leads balanced and well-paced. But subjectively speaking, my heart is leaning towards Cang Xuan. His character is so layered and nuanced, while his feelings for Xiaoyao and the world is so deep-rooted - and the acting just brings it all together! I already have an idea for what’s yet to come but I cannot even blame him because everything they (not just him) do, it’s driven by their past and circumstance. I love angst like that.
Still can’t get over Yang Zi and Zhang Wanyi’s scene in episode 22.
They bring out the best in each other, acting-wise. They have the ability to stab my heart repeatedly without actually doing so (episodes 15 and 22). So much talent and chemistry.
Just finished episode 15 of Lost You Forever and I just wanted to drop by and say that I am absolutely floored by his acting. He was not overshadowing Yang Zi nor getting left behind, he was acting WITH her - they were on par, with harmony, with the same quality. And they were putting everything they had into that performance!

That relationship had a huge power imbalance (age, status, etc). Telling a victim to leave is easier said than done.

i wanted to screenshot everything and share it here in the feeds but viki blacks out the screen. i need everyone in this community to watch this 😩
now that is how you do a push-and-pull game with sexual tension
