I liked this a lot more than I expected. I'm not a fan of food based shows, I only watch if there was a competition between chiefs or regular people, but I found myself interested in what dish they will eat next, and if they would like it. It's kind of like there is a competition but not one that is so intense it keeps you anxious.

She often misreads the queen's actions thinking that she does things with the intent of destroying her, but in actuality the queen is just doing her thing and not really concerned about Hwajin.

Recommend a historical drama to watch after this, please. T-T

Kim Hyun Joong was not entirely innocent (i.e. He admitted to physical assault and was fined and charged for it), Park Shi Hoo on the other hand was never charged with rape.

If only personality counts in love there would be no one who would continue to love someone even after they changed their personality. There are plenty of reasons to love someone, and "soul" itself isn't a reason for love because you can't possibly know one's soul, you can only tell by what they show you or by your limited experience of them AKA their personality, looks, the way they treat you, the thoughts they share...etc. Besides, even if we assumed that the king fell in love with Bong Hwan's soul specifically, isn't continuing to love the queen after the switch back means that he is in love with her too? People are capable of falling in love more than once in their lifetime.

I don't think it's "falling for the wrong person", because someone can't fall in love with a mere soul, you fall in love with someone because of their personality or looks or both because those are the only things you can comprehend. If they switched souls it would be like a spouse changing their personality after marriage, one might love them despite the change or fall out of love with them. If he kept loving the queen after she switches back with Bong Hwan, that means he loves her regardless of what soul she carries or what personality she has, or that he simply didn't mind the change, and may even like her more as his crazy wife would've stopped being crazy. So Bong currently has multiple personalities and that never stopped the king from starting to fall in love with her.

It's in episode 21. I recommend you do watch the whole drama or at least read a recap of the episodes you want to skip on drama blogs, it's really interesting.

I think Somin's "friend" was talking about what happened between Somin and the other friend, they said something about a guy who Somin had feelings for who instead dated the guest's friend and that's why they had a bad impression of each other. Since the members lied to the guest by saying that Somin insulted her behind her back, she was defending herself by saying that Somin was never wronged but had a victim mentality, in other words, she had no business with the guy in the first place, so she wasn't in a place where she is entitled to be angry at her. I think considering the situation the members put her in, she wasn't being mean.

Most people who avoid cousins nowadays avoid them because of health related reasons, or because it's "icky" to them. There is no religious rule about this. In the past, marrying cousins wasn't something frowned upon like nowadays.

It's not new, there was a cartoon version of Running Man airing on SBS, where they made the original Running Man members (excluding JoongGi and including Jihyo) into their character animals.

It depends on your male friend's taste, but I would definitely recommend a historical drama as a first Kdrama. I recommended Iljimae to a male acquaintance and he loved it. If he is more interested in action or serious dramas recommend something else like Iljimae or Mr. Sunshine, but if he is someone who likes something quirky and funny this drama may be your first resort.

I regret starting this while it's airing. This is the kind of drama that is perfect for binge-watching.

I think the only way this would happen is if the chef starts to regain the queen's memories, because he actually felt her feelings for the king for a moment when he started to recall the lake incident. That means that feelings are transferable and he might feel them too regardless of what gender or sexual orientation his soul has.
