I agree. This plot could go wrong so easily, but this drama makes it work. And this speaks volumes about how good the show is. "Mirae" is acting like Miji, and this is the reason why he confronted her in episode 2 and also why he keeps saying she's different lately. Hosu knows Mirae and has never been in love with her, like...ever. But as soon as Miji takes her spot, his emotions get tangled because she's acting like Miji. If anything, he's falling in love with Miji all over again.
Probably because of the accident that killed his father and left him with those scars and that hearing problem. My guess is that he blames himself for that.
