The way Satoh portrays that kind of character... The portrayal is straightforward and does not resort to excessive drama.

When he got that second chance and became a part of Misa's life, he didn't push too hard. He is still gentle and lets Misa do her thing. He is just there... waiting... I think he also was not hoping to be with her, but he was happy that he saw her moving forward and loving herself again.

We are almost done here. So excited to know what happened to wataru at the car. Good job showing the POV of both leads.
