However we feel about the Emperor, it's very hard to deny that he's excellent at fulfilling what this role requires. Superb politicking, far-sighted ambitions, and a bastion of imperial fear and awe. Bravo to the screenplay/novel, and to Chen Daoming for portraying all these so subtly yet powerfully

This is one of the rare shows I watch in 1x speed (usually 1.75x) just so I can capture all these micro-expressions
