I am on ep. 14 but it feels like 10 episodes of filler; like nothing has happened. It became tedious when they would meet and they would be "I'm sorry" "No I'm sorry" "You are busy" "I am here" This went from 8.5 to 6.5 in my ratings; now I would say watch the first 6 ep. and then skip to ep. 14-16.
This was a wasted opportunity with their initial characters; the family was great. The writer seemed to lack the commitment to any kind of reasonable story.
ML, FL: progress stopped ep.6 Evil ex-Agent: no evil conspiracy implemented, just evil Jin-u and GF: they're going out, Hye-yo's mom found out -- no development Hye-Yo: pouting, then moping then hanging out with friends GF (Jeong-Ha) too much, again nothing really happens.
This was intense good acting by all; Tyceon's range is limited.
this is a cult; the members have been brain washed; people are abducted and local police and politician are (might be) involved; but 10 episodes of this set in the dark was too much. I went from ep.6 to 13 without missing a whole lot. It is a powerful drama but could have been 10ep.
Loved loved loved the first 2 episodes. Finally, a romcom that has that almost cake-like lightness I hope they keep it like that for a while. Some light fun, is that too much to ask?
I was looking forward to the next two episodes but weirdly in the story sodam bogum have not seen each other in a couple of days and then seem like colleagues. Its like the spice, drama has been sucked out of the story.
Kind of like the series ended with his winning the Best Actor and her going off to start her own studio. The writer seems to be adrift now and it is not really that entertaining.
Bogum started getting annoying when he kind of smiles and tilts his head sideways as if to say "look how cute I am!" I am starting to think he can't really act.
Sodam also looks pretty stoic and not at all expressive. Her character is tough but I found it hard to connect with when she does not have any expression on her face. The side couple Hye-Yo sister and Friend 3 brought some relief and were very good. Loved the agent noona.
Anyway, I am going to wait till all the episodes are out so I can skip forward if it gets too boring/annoying etc.
I loved the versatility of Nana's acting as the female lead Go Se Ra. I have seen many kdrama actors and actresses have their five expressions and that's it. But Nana can layer many emotions together in amazing ways. She also has that comedic timing that very few other people could have delivered to this script. She gives it her all and one could almost forget that she is also stunningly beautiful.
The director also must be given a lot of credit for the great interactions between her friends and the child actor. All the political characters are given real personalities and aren't just "political outlines" as in other kdrama.
I've been watching 1/2 episodes every 2 weeks so that I can draw out the pleasure of this great ensemble cast and fab. political romcom. GoSeRa 2024 National Assembly!
I came back! I just skip past prolonged songs, cheesiness and time wasters like printing; do we have to watch pages coming out of the printer? The ML is kind of goober-like. Bo Ra's English is excellent and wow she is so beautiful! I did not realize the FL was so tiny.
I was in the mood for light, fluffy maybe even silly. But this just got old; layers of cliche. Unlikable characters. Characters that didn't make sense from previous episodes. I held on until ep. 3 but at the very beginning of ep. 4; when she struggling to reach for the glass on the high shelf I was out...
Pros: production value, eye candy cast, story premise Cons: Cliche, unlikable characters, inconsistent character development, tired story
I don't know, maybe if they left out all the evil chaebol plotting they would have more interesting dramas. Like a light rom-com set in Aukland?? Brisbane like at the beginning of the show.
A lot of shows start with great ep.2-4 and then collapse. I stopped watching this ep. 8 I wondering if it is worth going back to it.
Well I finished it and there was a LOT of filler. I can only take so much of villagers acting cute. Or the whole chaebol plot. Really this degenerated into a high production value (wasted) soap with not so great writing.
As someone else said if you don't watch this one you didn't miss a whole lot; or if there is nothing else to watch you could leave it on or skip a lot.
I loved this drama mostly for the dream-like atmosphere it created. At no point was any character annoying. I did finish watching the whole drama but I can't really remember if anything changed or how it ended? Or stood out. It was definitely quite different from most kdrama. It really hit the spot opposite too many dark melo-police/crime drama out now. More light romcoms please (not that this was one)_
I didn't really like this show at all the first time around; the manipulative stalker-ish ML, the story seemed to relish the hardship, psychological abuse experienced by the giant orange permed FL. Pretty unpleasant. Loved LSK's vicious character Baek In Ha.
So I am pandemic rewatching to see if there is anything that I like here. But if ep. 3 is still painful I am dropping it.
whoa this was intense; I was really wrenched when the dark for sure dead blood oozed out of minhee at the bottom of the stairs. Also, Oh Jisoo's breakdown from criminal genius with it all figured to just a teenager way over his head was amazing.
This was a wasted opportunity with their initial characters; the family was great. The writer seemed to lack the commitment to any kind of reasonable story.
