Another gender bender trope with a good story.

This is a series about two opposites attracted to each other with a lot of comedic relief, side of drama and just enough soul swapping.

I liked:
-the way the series focused on the life of idols outside the limelight. Their daily lives  and the reality that not everyone in a group or band have a good personal relationship.
-they showed a contrast of a well loved child and an abandoned child nicely. We can't choose our parents but we can choose our friends. Jiang Yi didn't have much growing up he has his manager/best friend who has his back.
-the rationalized fangirling of the besties Tong Tong and Shang Shang. Not all fangirls are cray cray . They know and accept that their idols are human.
-the line between gossip and responsible writing. Although the series didn't dive much into it, they clearly placed a line how an entertainment writer is different from a paparazzi or a gossip writer.
- The writer wrapped up the story of how Jiang Yi's family broke up and how Shang Shang helped him heal his scars.

I didn't like the lack of background to Tong Hua and Pei Shu they showed a bit of their past but it was not enough to conclude of they had feelings for each other or Pei Shu had feelings for her. We are left to assume how we perceive their relationship.

It had the same vibe as the series don't disturb my study. We are watching a story within a story.  In DDMS though it was not the FL who wrote the story.

All in all I like the ending showing it was a story made up by the FL to help her understand the ML  and the reason why the relationship almost didn't work for them.  We do need to be able to emphatize with others and symphatize since we all have different stories to tell and have different dreams and goals and to find that other person who understands and accepts you as you is hard in real life.

The series has a lot of funny moments that balances the drama. I liked the sound effects used in the series than the osts. Lols.

LJ and SZ are both good with their roles but  SZ shined brightly when their souls were swapped.  I have seen LJ in Eternal Love and I must say she kinda developed her knack with the soul swap thing but compared to SZ he really nailed the nuances of the FL. The rest of the actors did well in their roles too.

Would definitely rewatch this.

Toothachingly Sweet Love Story.

I like the friendship between Zeng Li, Wu Ying, Ma Yi YI and the Deng Hao Ran whose also Zeng Li's step brother from her mom's 2nd marriage. Their friendship is solid gold they support and scold each other and stick with one another.

The series focused on 3 types of relationship:
Inexperienced - Zeng Li and Ai Jing Chu are polar opposites in terms of personality. There's a hint that Zeng Li is holding on to her crush on her distant relative Yu Yi but when they met again they realized that whatever they felt for each other has passed.

Ai Jing Chu is obviously inexperienced which caused him to be confused at first and when he thought he may be in between the long standing feelings of Yu Yi and Zeng Li he was more of be the bigger person type.

The Yu Yi and Zeng Li arc was perfectly ended. I honestly think no one in their right mind would be waiting for another for 10 years. As for Zeng Li and Ai Jing Chu their story is cute and the progression was written well it does not hurt to add that the actors chemistry is good too.

Age Gap - the relationship of Wu Ying and Liu Yu Cheng at first focused on their age gap but then it delved on the differences in their outlook in life and I liked that although Yu Cheng is young but he's mature. Wu Ying is older but a bit childish. It made them perfect for each other. This relationship moved at a speed of a bullet train and they communicated well with each other even in the face of difficulties.

Friends - Ma Yi Yi and Deng Hao Ran were in a relationship before but they kept it a secret from their friends. They kept their friendship after breaking up but honestly their bickering made me realize they still like each other whether they admit it or not. They are also the people in this series that look confident on the outside but has so many insecurities inside.

The 22 episode series was able to focus on Friends, Love and Family...it was written and acted well.

The OST didn't give me any LSS but it the series played a lot of song which was perfect for the scenes.

I would definitely rewatch this. Once I'm over the toothache of the sweetness and the cringey lines. :D

I'm only scoring 8.5 on this is because I still have a hang over on You are my Glory and some of the lines are sweet tot he point I cringe.

Separation is a must to mature

Crush is a series that I like the timeline and storytelling the most.
We have an assertive but not annoying FL in Sang Wu Yan and we have a hidden gem of a composer and an insecure blind ML in Su Qian Nin. We also have a bunch of friends and family who understand and support the leads as they mature.

I honestly enjoyed the way SWY chased and got SQN to like her too. It's not annoying of her to chase her though she can be a bit impulsive her personality is quite cute. SQN is a deeper person, he's visually impaired and comes from a dysfunctional family with a tragic childhood. He can't be blamed for being insecure about personal relationships.

The BFFs who turned into lovers with SWY in between is a realistic story and I like how they closed the issue with SWY being mature enough to admit her mistake and wish her friends lick, but, her friends didn't become lovers afterwards, they had to face issues normal teens had to face, pursuing dreams, choosing careers, and love.

I honestly needed the main leads separation was very much needed, independently they both needed to grow as individuals and mature. I felt there came a point that they grew too much dependent on each other that they can't face their problems on their own. Although, that reason for break up was too harsh in terms of death in the family but it was miscommunication because they both were not willing to face the reality that there's a crack in their relationship,

At the last half, I like how the tables were turned and it's SQN who has to chase SWY.

There are psychological factors in this drama that was shown but was not well explained but it's okay since the FL didn't pursue her career.

All in all it's an enjoyable drama with a slice of life theme that was well written and played by the actors.

The OST is cute specially the song the leads sang.
I would definitely rewatch this.

Chemistry + Cute Xiao Bao

After completing this series, I have to say that if it wasn't for the leads chemistry and Xiao Bao's cuteness I might have dropped this.

Why?
- the ending was rushed. there's no depth regarding the issue about the accident that caused Xiao Bao's parents to die.
- QYY was supposed to be smart but why do I find her a bit gullible? I am not sure of this though, I guess for me her thought process is a bit odd.
- HQY is a bit too much close to Miles Wei's character in Perfect and Casual, but I found his acting to be on point when he showed signs of PTSD after the accident, When he realized he was the one driving. The unfocused eyes, ramblings, and such it's on point.
- the 2nd and 3rd pairings were a bit rushed, I think their back stories was not well established. NFY falling for LW where did that come from? And the 2nd pair, it started with a bet but I never saw the WG and RW connection. Am sorry for their shippers.

What I liked in this one all in all is the interaction between XB and QYY, they are cute. The love between QYY and HQY was well developed. It's just that I found too many loopholes that kinda bugged me.
The OST is okay. As for the rewatch value, I would definitely do so because of Xiao Bao.

Not Just Another Fluffy Drama.

I have not read the novel but have read comments how close this one is to the novel and how the key points in the book was also added in the series. There is much more to the series than romance. It's a slice of life kinda drama that was shown perfectly here.

What I like:
- we have an imperfect ML. The MLs character is a very realistic one. We have a top student at a crossroad and is depressed. When he realized his wrong he tried to redeem himself to our FL.
- we have an FL whose smart and lively. Although she can be impulsive I like her personality. The way she was cold to our ML after being rejected was refreshing. Lol we got no stupid FL she loves herself and tries to protect her own heart.
- supportive family and friends. I hate conflicts and this one does not have an irritating mother or domineering parent and a friend whose against the relationship or any of one of the charcters.
- they are both mischievous and a bit narcissistic and I like it. It added color or flair to their relationship.

What I don't like
- the exes. I dislike them both. Lol. From how they were portrayed there's nothing to like at all. The MLs ex wants him back becaise our FL likes her and she feels confident she can. I like how our ML was man enough ti apologize to her and straightforwardly say to her face he never loved her. He thought they were compatible but he nwver loved her. That was throwing cold water to her face. I loved it.

The FLs ex is a douchebag. Blaming another girl for leaking a video. Seriously he's craving attention from our lovable FL. I like how the FL put him in his place and reminded him that he was an ex for a reason.
- that 2nd rejection. Seriously? After all that subtle flirting anf innuendo? Although I understand why. We have a boy who grew up as a golden boy who sorta became a nobody while chasing his dream and here he is faced with a girl who used to be average but turned out to be great. His ego is wounded he can't think clearly.

The acting was good and I mean good. I have seen Reba in other series and have seen much improvement in her acting. And Yang Yang, the scenes where he is confused or down I can't help but feel for him. Obviously this character Yu Tu has more depth than Xiao Nai in Love O2O but this man nailed the role. I like him more here.

Whoever said YY can't act kiss scenes well should watch this. Just saying. 😝IMO of we get another news like one of Janice Wu and Zhang Yujian in these two I will not be surprised. But for now they are just an OTP.

The ost. I like and love Liu Yuning. Need I say more?
Definitely rewatching this.

I've spoiled myself with trailers of thw next coming episodea and I must say this one definitely is on my top 5 of cdramas of 2021.

Realistic and yet still cute

This is one of my favorite KDramas. Why? Because this depicts the adults who were born in the 80s.

Of course this is another drama trope, childhood friend separated then reunited. However, SJJ and GJW is sooo cute together. Their friends are no less cuter than they are. Struggling with life and love. The series shows a diverse background for the FL and her friends and the ML and the people around him.

SJJ the loyal fangirl to Anthony is so cute and relatable to girls in the 90s and early 2000s who still like the boyband songs they grew up with. I can relate. A LOT.

GJW and his insecurities is a real life issue for children of parents who remarried. Even though they are a family it feels like there's an intruder in their life.

HAR is cute and a hopeless romantic. I find her character endearing in a way and JYS the friend whose struggling because of her family and her career is a character that I find so realistic

The story revolves around 30something adults who grew up together and faced happy and sad times together. I like the flow of the story and the development of the characters in this series. I guess since it's been awhile since I watched it I kinda forgot the details. But what stuck with me is the reality people in their 30s, unmarried and still struggling with their career face.

SJJ and GJW love story is cute, her fangirling of Anthony oppa has boundaries. She understands the fact that she's a fan and doesn't own her idol's life or love. That's the healthy way to fan girl.

The ost which Melomance sung is awesome. It's on my play list.
I've rewatched this twice or thrice.

If you need a realistic drama with fluff this is a good series to start.

Cheesy. To the point that I cringe at times.

I stopped watching Ancient Love Poetry and finished this drama in like 3 or 4 days. I started this one quite late. WeTV already has about 28 episodes uploaded when I started this and I didn't regret stopping Ancient Love Poetry for this.

What I liked in this series:
- The subtle... not so subtle flirting is just too much but you can't help but smile.
- The ML just can't stop being clingy to the FL when they became a couple, obviously making up for the lost time.
- The way the ML asked the FL to be his girlfriend kinda reminded me of how HS in GGS asked TN to get back together in episode 15. That was not a confession, it was like a choice that the FL has to make. It's kinda cute.
- The story of the FL's BFF and mid of the YQCB is cute, although I feel their screen time was short, I like the way they relationship grew.
- The awesome friendship. Need I say more? Despite the ups and downs they are friends who consider each other like family.

Ming God definitely I like, his acting is different from Legend of Yun Xi. I like him. <3

What I didn't like? Not much really, I wish there's a clarity on the reason why God Yang broke up with the FL. I didn't have a second lead syndrome in this series, but I like how God Yang didn't pester the FL until the end. He knew when to give up. I wish he could get his own story told when he meets the one for her.

I almost forgot, I like the way the series addressed the issues of e-sport players, the issues they face with their family and the prejudice of the people who is not aware how hard working this people are too.

The OSTs are okay.
Rewatch value, definitely, when I need a dose of fluff. Xu Kai is just a cute Chessman. Lol boyfriend goals...

After all that... It's just disappointing...

I watched this because I am a fan of the main leads. I liked their chemistry is Tra Barb... The teaser trailer showed it was an interesting story but lo and behold they shortened the series too much that you can not make sense of a lot of things.

1st - that damned prophecy which caused them to get married, I kinda wished they dug a bit deeper. I can't help but compare it to the fortune telling in my husband in law. In MHIL there was part at the end that showed the fortune teller was right about the couple.
2nd - I wish to have seen Rut chase Petch when he realized that he liked her not like how they rushed it from him realizing he liked her then bam they're together.
3rd - I kinda wished that Lan would have had a deeper reason to hate Mook. It could have been that when they were younger he realized he liked her but she left without a word. The way his character was written was so childish in his treatment of Mook I have no words to describe the foolishness of it.
4th - I wish the sister would have suffered more than how she did. She does not deserve that loving family that she has.
5th - this is a drama we all know eventually theybwpuld end up together but because they rushed to end this we didn't have a chance to see Lan suffer and grovel to get Mook back.
Lastly, don't get me started with Nuch she does not deserve that open ending.

If they decided to shorten the drama they could have edited earlier episodes so that the ending would not have felt too rushed.

I like the osts on this drama. I listen to it and added it on my playlist.

As for the rewatch value I would think twice.
Rather than asking the team of this drama for a 2nd season I would rather they rerelease this drama with the same cast and a more packed version.

Honestly thought of scoring higher than what I scored but that ending is just too disappointing.

Definitely Must Watch

I just finished the series yesterday and I must say that it's really a comedic relief. Although, I don't agree with the FLs method of trying to get to know the MLs family and intention into marrying her I kind of understand that her personality is that she does not believe until she see or hears it herself. I'm not sure when they fell for each other exactly in the series but the series showed it was a gradual development.

I find it funny when they try to oust each other to the MLs mom and how it blew on the MLs face. The mom's reaction was understandable for me since the FLs family kind of guessed what she's doing and they know it will end up in a mess, it looked like her family prepared for the worst which is opposite of the MLs mom. I really love the acting and the character of Wat, the FLs bestie. I wish everyone would have that friend who supports and nags but still is with you all the way.

The chemistry between the FL and ML is off the charts that I can't help but smile at their antics and when they are already dating. The ending was a bit rushed for me, I wished I could have seen the downfall of the SFL, she's such a B****. And that boyfriend who turned out to be gay I wished there would have been a scene where he explained but it went to being caught then the acceptance, even if the FL already is in love with someone else I would have wished for a better closure.

The OST sang by the ML is cute and I find it catchy.

Overall, I would definitely rewatch this when I need to relieve my stress.

Relatable for folks who have experience one sided love

Watching this drama I laughed and cried with Lou Zhi and her journey of love. I also love Bai Li's story despite being stupid in love at first.

This is a typical coming of age drama, where the drama focused on growing up, friendship, family and love.

I liked this version better than the 2019 version. Although the ending of the 2019 version is better, that wedding was a culmination of the hardships the couple encountered which was missed on this one, I hope they make a special episode with a wedding for our main leads.

It was painful to watch Sheng Huainan confront Lou Zhi about her feelings, I seriously cried buckets on episode 21 and 22 and realized that Sheng Huainan is a confused boy because everyone around them in college who was with them when they were in high school basically ruined Lou Zhi's reputation, he became so muddled so when he realized he's fallen in love Lou Zhi had to protect herself from the pain of being misunderstood and being ghosted. I hate the part he ghosted her. Seriously, after all that flirting you left the girl hanging...

Overall, I liked the drama and the OST encompassed what they went through, although, the ending was not same as the old version, I liked that it was realistic and open ended, like a do over for what they missed years ago. <3

Someone who has been or is currently experiencing unrequited love would definitely relate to the leads journey.

The acting is on point for all the characters on this version, I loved Bai Li and how she grew more mature. I seriously hated the ex girlfriend and her pathetic attempts to ruin Lou Zhi in the MLs eyes and build herself up which is just to selfish. I think it's karma for her to realize she like someone else but that someone else was in a coma after letting her know he gave her what he wished for. I just wished he found someone else and loved, it would be a nice lesson for her.

I would definitely rewatch this.

Revenge Drama with Fluff

What I like most is that the main leads have absolutely sweet moments pure fluff. But seriously the cousin who has a mental condition stole the scene.

The ML and FL have chemistry and I like how their story progressed. It was obvious from the start the ML is smitten with the FL but what I just don't understand is why she didn't tell him from the start that she became poor because of the aunt's schemes.

The father of the ML is an ass until the end I am so happy that the wife decided to leave and stay at the temple. He's a scumbag for killing the father of the FL's friend. I guess this one would have been a 10 for me if they did not separate at the last part.

Overall this is a good watch, I really like the cousin, saw her in So Wayree and you would hate her really. Lol.

Drama Tropes Played Well...so far...

What I really liked about this drama is how they were able to play the gender bender trope perfectly. A strong indepedendent female ceo and a gentle nice doctor trapped in a marriage because of a debt. The chemistey between the main FL and ML is off the charts. I like how she plays the aggeessive ceo but in her married life she's actually naive. The main ML is just too nice of a guy but he's really charming and endearing in a way.

The SML is in an awkward position honestly but compared to the thai version where the uncle is really a biological uncle this would be acceptable. I just hope in this version he won't act on his feelings and move on from the hopeless infatutlation. The SFL is adorable in her imaginary world I wish thugh she won't be too hurt when she realizes that the SML might be using her as a cover or that her love is actually one sided.

Another thing to mention is the ex fiancee is also a badass CEO whose actually embodying the saying "hell has no fury like a woman scorned" and what I like about her is herbanger is directed to her ex and not the FL which is also another difference from the thai version.

All in all this is not even halfway through so I hope in the latter part the story won't spiral down.

History and Chemistry

I may change the review depending on how this series goes. I like the ML since Ashes of Love he can really act well and the FL I've seen her before in other series like the world owes me a first love and I think she acts really well. BUT Riley Wang is just cute I have been following him since Attention Love.

The story is a typical drama trope childhood frenemies who separated. And the ML has feelings for the FL but the FL is oblivious. They meet again years later... But because od their past the FL has some prejudice against our ML but I find him sweet.

So far it's not boring and their chemistry is so good. Those finger hearts and sticker photos almost killed me. I kinda feel bad for the ML when they took that nostalgic photo and he pulled her hair but she doesn't remember it. I wonder howbshe would realize his feelings but we allsaw taht trailer right? I just can't wait for her to fall in love with him.

I like the extra scenes at the end like you see snippets of how their relationship was before they separated.

Can't say much about the 2nd couple not much screen time yet but seriously I won't consider working part time in a place just because of some perfect guy is a regular. Not now anyway. We have experienced one sided crushes but it makes me curious how their story will go.

The ost of this series is good.
As for rewatch value haha i have repeated it already from episode 1. Need I say more?

if you like fluff this is for you

I binged watched the 12 eps on wetv while waiting for subs for love and redemption and i am not regretting it.
If you want to watch a series thats just fluff this is one of the good ones.

The story is not so original girl likes boy back in school but girl thinks boy didn't like her back... Fast forward 7 years later they meet again and girl falls in love with the same boy.

The leads fit their roles perfectly. ML is so different from his role with PYOHMS but his good with the stiff ceo role. The FL is kinda immature IMO but its just halfway through her acting is almost the same as when she was the fiancee of Dao Ming Si in Meteor Garden. Bur the role needs that character.

The friends and coworkers of the leads are really funny and endearing. I can't wait to see how the MLs best friend woud react when he learns the leads are a couple. The dad of the FL is really funny too trying to hide his gf from his daughter. Lol.

The songs at the start and end are addicitng too...
Rewatching it on the weekend specially the episode with the grandma.

Underrated gem.

What I liked most in this is that the story revolved around the main characters and how they grew up and evetually got together. This is so relatable and realistic.

If you're in a situation or had been in the same situation as they are you know why you would bury the feelings and forget. You don't want to lose the friend you cherish. Afraid of the risk.

i would have scored this a 10 if it weren't for the last minute cliche they did where the ML suddenly got sick and broke up with the FL. I hate that they had to that like 2 episodes before the ending.

I like the early parts but the ending was a bit too rushed for me. They could have extended it so the ML could grovel for his stupidity.
