skip episodes 3 and 5

Overall: nothing really happened in this series and when something did happen it felt extremely contrived. You can skip episode 3 (a whole bunch of stupid jealousy) and 5 (a whole bunch of counseling sessions with all combos of characters). This is set in the Love Mechanics universe with mostly new actors. 6 episodes about 45 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala and YouTube.

Content Warnings: dub/non con kiss, homophobia

What I Liked
- the supportive friends (but had waaaayyyy too much screen time)
- a few cute moments
- Ana's mom and dad
- mentioned how expensive medicine is
- they do allude to them having sex but don't show anything
- that Fuse stands by Ana and they talk in the car in episode 4 about what happened and stands up for their relationship again
- neutral, there are comedy sound effects

FYI the title Future might come from the character's name, Anakhot, which means "future" in Thai.

Room For Improvement
- the plot is bogged down by not needed conversations/texts with Ana and Fuse's parents and friends, in the final episode out of 40 minutes there was a 4 minute scene towards the beginning and a 4 minute scene at the end with just the two of them (and even at the end it wasn't just the two of them exactly), so only 8 minutes of 40 minutes was spent on the protagonists with each other?!!!!! The plot in these 6 episodes could have easily been cut down to 2 episodes.
- Ana is set up to be very shy and then there is a (pointless) 1 year time jump and suddenly he is extremely forthright/flirty???
- a bunch of characters were introduced really quickly but I figured out the main couple at least
- nonsense plot and dialogue, who on earth would say 'you have to be my wife/bottom' to a near stranger, do they like each other, why??? completely ridiculous (and not in the fun way) jealousy
- the protagonists seem too immature to be in a relationship with anyone
- that bizarre conversation with that guy at the end came out of nowhere, and why does it matter if someone has had many partners or has many partners, what century are we living in
- loud and constant music
- crying without tears
- many subtitle errors that negatively affected understanding what was being said, I wish Gaga had cleaned up the subtitles I assume they were given by the production company

wish it was longer/had a special episode

Overall: with only 6 25 minute episodes, they needed to take out/reduce screentime of the main conflict as there wasn't enough time to properly develop their relationship. It's still cute with a solid ending. I gave this an indie rating bump. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/1p9j07cqimg?lang=en_us&sh_pltf=4 and seems to also be airing on YouTube https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0P6L1kgy3ITUD-fneCgsyV7-PgDeZuRO&si=vb2NTEwOIj-EXVIX

Content Warnings: punch, past homophobia, cyber bullying, non con touching

What I Liked
- different personalities
- up front about who they were attracted to/sexual orientation
- noble idiot trope interrupted
- a character sided with the guy he loved and stood up to his own company

Room For Improvement
- the 2 false accusations (in reality it is extremely rare to falsely accuse someone of this)
- rushed romantic development, needed more time to focus on their relationship
- (neutral) quite a lot of far away/camera blocked shots for the kissing and also the interrupted kiss

The Despicable Person Game

Overall: episode 7 completely ruined the romance (I would have rated this higher if this was not a romance with a certain type of ending). What Peem did was unforgivable and there was no redemption arc that could make me want him in a romantic relationship. 10 episodes about 45 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/the-wicked-game-episode-1-1afm4z006fc?lang=en_us

What I Liked
- chemistry
- visuals
- easy to understand premise but also some mystery elements
- dad got what he deserved
- Than's parents

Room For Improvement
- I thought smashing the love of your life in the head with a pipe was bad, but when Peem shot the supposed love of his life in the back it destroyed the romance, Peem also caused a woman to be killed.
- production value including continuity errors with blood on his face in episode 1 being in different locations
- nonsense writing/actions and nonsense like tons of bullets hit no one and then later they hit every target
- love rival
- did not care about all the hospital/business drama
- missed opportunities for 2 romantic couples
- unsatisfactory ending and I can't believe Peem inflicted more and unnecessary emotional damage

clever and funny

Overall: it was fun to see the different perspectives. 3 episodes about 4 minutes each. Produced by Flying Penguin, originally released on Likey. Later released on Shortime app (app info below). My invite link is https://playground.shortime.app/en/invite/NKNIWI - the code is NKNIWI (those are all capital letters, that's the capital letter i)

What I Liked
- the different viewpoints and how it changed the story
- made me laugh
- kissing
- dreams

Room For Improvement
- abrupt ending

My Watch For Free Plan (updated Feb 2025)

- check in = 5 (increases over 7 days up to 25)
- create a login = 20? (I did create a login because otherwise you only get 1 Always Win box instead of 3 per day, I think this was 20 popcorn)
- do the 3 random popcorn from the daily Always Win box = 30 (I'd normally get 5-15, around 30 in total)
- Watch Ads, watch all 10 ads each day, have to wait 30 seconds in between ads = 110

start it halfway thru (watch suggestions)

Overall: the first half of the series was a mess (not just the subtitles). I enjoyed the last couple episodes quite a bit more than the beginning ones. Based on the book “What’s the Nong?” by I’m Mynt. I haven't read the book and reviewed the series based on its own merits. 6 episodes about 45 min each (uncut, episode 1 cut was 36 minutes but I'm not sure what the missing 9 minutes was). Aired on iQIYI uncut https://www.iq.com/album/dogbro-2025-rpuy7moou5?lang=en_us and episode 1 on YouTube (worldwide) cut https://youtu.be/0TOqjvji-aQ?si=37NWzGrBuFDkjy25 and later released starting at episode 2 on Mentkorn YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wgVfR_PAAs

Content Warnings: manhandling, fight, trauma

Watch Suggestions (for uncut iQIYI version)
- episode 3 watch 29:10-end
- episode 4 watch 15:30-19:15, 33:50-37 and 41:30-end
- episode 5 watch beginning to 16:45, 24-28 and 31-end
- watch episode 6

What I Liked
- cute dog
- once the characters got together they showed mutual want and ongoing intimacy
- showing a condom box/condom wrapper on the floor was nice to see

Room For Improvement
- exposition dump to start
- comedy sound effects didn't make things funny
- characters were hot and cold
- love triangle
- cliche ex girlfriend and that thread of flea powder down her throat was not funny
- (neutral) the YouTube subs and iQIYI were difficult to understand
- (neutral) the dog having a voice

very cute spin off (want that historical series asap)

Overall: this 4 episode spin off (eps 9-12 in the YouTube playlist, about 44 minutes in total) was cute. I'm happy that SUKFILM made a series without love triangles/cheating/cliche evil women which are prevalent in their other series. This is my review of eps 1-8 https://mydramalist.com/profile/blcompilations/review/385435 Aired on SUKFILM's YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYfaogVGCvwQ_32A8H9oWjdEtXVTWcrja&si=sMchCmQ6G6zL8HKY (I watched as a non-member, normally the membership includes videos with longer kissing scenes).

What I Liked
- sweet/caring moments
- different stories/characters (that historical one definitely needs to be a full series)
- this kissing/intimacy/chemistry, good consent

Room For Improvement
- the constant background music with vocals which were also too loud

happy for now? (watch suggestions)

Overall: the first episode and a half were so amazing in the first 4 episodes. But annoying plot points and the cliffhanger/terrible ending ruined the series for me. I was happy when I heard there would be 4 more episodes but they again did annoying plot points. I feel that this couple will break up after a few weeks or months which greatly impacted my enjoyment of the series. Aired on SUKFILM's YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYfaogVGCvwTczUW4K1YELu_cWQfUQ21a&si=Ae7a-g86tOGEtGNN I'm watching the cut/non-member version which has less kissing (and I heard an epilogue at the end of episode 8). Here is my review of the first 4 episodes https://mydramalist.com/profile/blcompilations/reviews/354841

Watch Suggestions
- start episode 5 at 7 minutes
- stop episode 6 at 3:20 (unless you want another overused plot point)
- skip episode 7
- watch episode 8 at 13:30 to the end

What I Liked
- the main leads when they were cute together
- acting
- kissing
- music

Room For Improvement
- due to a lack of trust and communication skills, I predict the characters break up in a few weeks or months which is not what I'm looking for in romance series
- did not need over half of episode 5 to be filled with a cliche female character
- did not want to see the character they introduced in episode 6, should have focused the time on developing the leads' relationship
- why was everyone extremely into 1 character? it felt unrealistic
- there was no reason to do what they did in episode 7 and apparently the ending scene was a dream which was not clear at all, but even him dreaming left a sour taste in my mouth

a long and cute ad/travel promotion

Overall: it was basically a really long advertisement for nasal inhalers but Tar and Bom were sweet. I'd really like to see them act as leads again in a full length series. 5 episodes about 9 minutes each. Aired on Minzz Thailand YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_8fI3XP8q0&t=4s

What I Liked
- cute moments
- their historical outfits in episode 3

Room For Improvement
- it had that exaggerated/cringey type of humor
- as mentioned this was basically an ad for an inhaler and traveling to Thailand

excellent follow up to season 1

Overall: because there is more comedy I actually enjoyed this a bit more than season 1. The special is 1 hour and 15 minutes. GagaOOLala picked this up in September 2023 which is when I watched it (GagaOOLala picked up the whole franchise and the order to watch is: season 1, special, movie, season 2 which is airing October 2023).

What I Liked
- comedy, I burst out laughing several times
- cute moments
- communication progress
- Wataru, yes he's immature but he's honest and his partner enjoys their dynamic so I won't judge them
- tighter pacing than the series

Room For Improvement
- the fake out (I'd rather they show nothing at all than the 'stop right before it happens')

watch this short masterpiece (on GagaOOLala)

Beautiful, realistic, brilliant. I don't even have words to say how well done this short film is but I'll try without spoiling anything. This story and characters felt extremely realistic and relatable, these are people I could meet in real life. All three/four of the actors did an amazing job, it was especially great to see Huang Chun Chih again (lead in HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count). This is an exemplar of how to do a short film well. You have a narrow plot/idea that you want to convey with only a few characters/locations.

My only complaint is that it's too short and we need a whole series or a full length movie to really delve into the glimpses that we got here. Watched on GagaOOLala.

that was a slog

Overall: it's slow paced and not funny. Aired on YouTube and WeTV (need vpn to Thailand).

Content Warnings: non con kiss and touching, homophobia, manhandling, hits/slaps

What I Liked:
- few cute moments
- OST
- the het couple (guy with the glasses) was cute
- a few conversations with supportive friends
- the production value is decent

Room For Improvement
- pacing was way too slow (I even watched it on 3x speed). If they had cut this from 45 minutes to 20-30 minutes, then I would have enjoyed it more. Everything is too draggy and boring.
- that ex is a piece of youknowwhat, the non con was not romantic
- choppy/unknown time jumps, did those two scenes happen at the same birthday party?
- I didn't find it funny (like the maid outfit, employee is wearing a crown, toilet humor), the comedy sound effects don't make something funny they can only enhance something that is funny
- stereotype of the effeminate guy not doing work and focusing on his live
- multiple time jumps
- the homophobic grandfathers random and sudden change of heart
- why did the m/m wedding have 6 people and the m/f wedding was a bunch of people?

3 separate stories: f/f, m/f, m/m

Overall: you don't have to guess who funded this mini-series but I'm okay with it because finally we have a 2nd season/follow up with a cute story line (episode 1). There are 3 episodes and each episode has a different couple: f/f, m/f and m/m. Watched on YouTube.

Content Warnings: 1 non con picture taken, several self-disparaging comments about weight, body policing/shaming, shoves

Episode 1: 9/10
What I Liked
- plot was creative and sweet (a plot continuation without a love triangle or cheating is almost unheard of, I wish writers would come up with some more ideas like this one)
- good crying, it made me tear up which rarely happens

Room For Improvement
- I get they are a sponsor but I did not like the comments about weight/appearance
- non realistic things done because they needed to happen (i.e. that would have probably bruised not bled, that ladder just happened to be there)
- that was pretty PG skinship-wise with an established couple, just a couple of cheek or lip pecks would have been nice
- I know it was related to the product but 'zero' does not have a positive connotation and 'zero photography' does not sound pleasant for a title

Episode 2: 8/10
I apparently didn't take any notes on this one. I thought it was fine. Yes, it had unbelievable elements (and no not the obvious one) but I enjoyed it.

Episode 3: 7/10
It's really disappointing that an established couple has shown no character growth, they were exactly where we left them even though it's 2 years later. Also, who doesn't spend an hour cleaning, I would have turned around and left. I did like the few cute moments and I want to see Earth and Mix in more series, either together or separately.

Love Triangle Area, part 1

(mild spoilers)
Overall: it made me laugh a few times despite the dreaded love triangles. It felt incomplete but the second part didn't help. Aired on GagaOOLala. Re-aired in 2024 on Love Area The Series YouTube channel.

Content Warnings: 1 fight scene not between the m/m, mild abduction

What I Liked
- overall production value was good, a few errors with the English subs but not bad
- acting/chemistry was goodish
- the enjoyable OST is by Jeff Satur who also has a small role
- I am a sucker for a bad boy who is trying to be better
- there were a few times that I actually laughed out loud although some may have been unintentionally funny...

Room For Improvement
- ugh, love triangles (there are 2). I really want 1 of the third wheels to give up and find happiness elsewhere (unfortunately I have a nagging feeling this will be drawn out until the end of part 2)
- once again a dumb time gap but this had at least a more realistic reason, still a totally stupid plan though (not a fan of time gaps where 1 person in a serious romantic relationship ghosts/lies to their partner supposedly for their partner's good and then comes back years later and they live happily ever after)
- didn't like the way King (the painter) pressured/guilted Ice (the model) to take his shirt off for the painting
- the actor playing Ice (Freshmen college student) is 14, which is odd and he'd better not be a love interest or someone think he's a love interest
- Kaitoon has the memory of a goldfish or is just really rude for standing up Nont two different times and not answering his phone. I wish he had remembered but his phone had died, didn't have cell reception or notified Nont at least 1 of the times.
- Kaitoon doesn't appear to reciprocate feelings until the very end and I like both characters to at least show interest a bit earlier than that
- wanted the guy pursuing Panggo to stop/ease up (again not a fan of someone repeatedly pursuing another person when the person has expressed disinterest or no interest because that's stalker behavior). I realize this was done for laughs, I thought it was stupid.
- pacing could have moved more quickly
- I really enjoy the OST but it is replayed with various versions (vocals and just instrumental) a little too much.

face cards delivered, writing did not

Overall: I think the actors did their best with an underwhelming plot. 8 episodes about 25 min each. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/peach-trap-episode-1-25v64vqz458?lang=en_us ; GagaOOLala https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5964/peach-trap-2025-e01 (not United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Mexico, Spain, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Taiwain) & Heavenly (South Korea)

Content Warning: non/dub con kissing, punch, manipulation

What I Liked
- visuals
- peach references
- easy to understand premise
- Do Ha showed some initiative in episode 8

Room For Improvement
- even with the fantasy element, I couldn't believe 3 gorgeous men were all in love with the human equivalent of a damp rag, in the end I wanted Do Ha to be alone, talk with a therapist and learn to be an adult human
- too much of the ML moping/being indecisive and flashbacks
- one character punched a character and the line afterward was maybe supposed to be romantic but came across as creepy
- another character manipulated Do Ha and he managed to get a love interest at the end

interesting premise, confusing execution

Overall: I enjoyed that this had a unique premise but there were just too many plot elements thrown in and they were not able to explain or wrap everything up well. Watched on YouTube.

Content Warnings: there is one (which we actually never see and I wish we had) but I'm going to keep this spoiler free

What I Liked
- gorgeous country/mountainside setting
- a bit of mystery/more of a unique premise
- cinematography and music
- the actors did a good job

Room For Improvement
- there was just not enough screen time to fully develop the multitude of plot points and it ended up being too confusing i.e. the two "games", jumping back and forth in the timeline, the scene on the bridge - what was he apologizing for???, the repeated bridge scene, the twist (I would have cut that whole element/character out), how was it so coincidental with the timing with them ending in the place from the first episode, what exactly happened with their relationship?
- I would have preferred that the first episode content was cut down into 5-10 minutes and then they moved into how they met/their relationship, shown (not told) what exactly happened to land them there so close in timing and then have the final episode in the place we saw in the first episode
- it's fine to have plot twists and mystery elements, but in the end, the audience should go 'ah haaa' like in The Sixth Sense and I was left with 'uh whaaat?'
