aggressive pursuer & naive pursuee (watch suggestions)

Overall: I wasn't surprised to see it is based on a manga ("Itte Owarina Wake ga nai!" by Komeoka Shigu). It had that bodice-ripper, aggressive pursuit and confused/reluctant pursuee vibe. I haven't read the manga and reviewed the series based on its own merits. 12 episodes about 22 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala (not in Taiwan, Korea or Japan) https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5526/secret-lover-2025-e01 ; iQIYI https://www.iq.com/album/secret-lover-2025-1gamo9acu1d and GTV Drama YouTube channel (not in Korea or Japan) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLk2gvyPpHLRfYzaDVqGeGwr7LPZlWNZQd&si=bCMJZNrnkEEwkbHx

Content Warnings: non con touching, non con touching/kissing turned consensual-ish, non con kisses, manhandling

Watch Suggestions (after episodes 1 & 2 which I'm not re-watching, these timings focus on sweet and steamy moments)
- start episode 3 at 12:20
- episode 4 watch 12:55-20:20
- episode 5 watch beginning to 6:40, 13-14 and 19-end
- episode 6 watch 6:40-8:10, 16:20-17:20
- episode 7 watch beginning-8:30, 21-25:30
- skip episodes 8 & 9
- episode 10 watch 3:30-14 and 24-end

What I Liked
- visuals
- easy to understand premise
- the kids were cute*
- ML said he was fine with either
- supportive friends/not cliched female characters

Room For Improvement
- started with a flash forward, then went to a flashback before landing in the present
- ignored boundaries, was jealous over his nephew, self-centered, insecure, immature
- asking to slow down/pause on intimacy (a reasonable request) didn't mean ghosting (felt coercive)
- nonsense fever after being in the rain
- comedy sound effects didn't make things funny
- *too many childhood flashbacks
- did not care about the work drama, slow pacing
- way too many cliche running scenes
- noble idiot trope but at least it was communicated as to the reason
- the parents knew and should have realized it might make their son worry, they could have dropped hints liked watched a queer romance movie and talked about how love is love and they support marriage equality and rights

blended several elements well but needed more trust

Overall: romance, fantasy, mystery, action, thriller and humor worked well together but I needed more trust in the relationship with the leads. Note that there are some very intense scenes. 12 episodes about an hour each. Aired on Idol Factory's YouTube Channel. Idol Factory also produced Secret Crush On You and Gap The Series.

Content Warnings: murders, attempted murder, suicide, manipulation, mentions of rape and sexual assault, kidnapping, torture, violence, blood, vomiting, manhandling

What I Liked
- hooked right away at the beginning
- integrated action, thriller/mystery, fantasy, romance and a little humor (Jack & Rose comment was funny)
- sweet moments
- Yai/Sand established couple
- Tharn's supportive friends
- good dream sequences
- some GL
- NSFW scenes were well done

Room For Improvement
- the slap was not needed in episode 5 and a later episode
- I found the camerawork a little too shaky/fast during some of the action scenes
- toilet "humor"
- kind of a tourism ad in episode 3
- unrealistic elements (not talking about the fantasy things), why wouldn't the brother have gone after his main target first and then the others, not shooting when there was opportunity, discussing a case in a public cafe, stupid decisions (the allegedly best of the best managed to share 1 brain cell), how on earth they did they survive that in episode 11, why wouldn't have the doctor done something much sooner (the writers could have made up a mythology that Tharn had to be a certain age before he could be taken to that location)
- the lack of trust that Tharn had in Phaya and the absolute trust he had in another character was off putting, the writers need to show more why Tharn would have that must trust in the other character
- that's pretty awful of Tharn to put Phaya through that much pain at the end, wish they could have written this differently

Thoughts on the Finale YouTube Release Date (I didn't take off points)
- I understand that companies need to make money, but I think they could improve regarding the finale episode release (also since they sold out that Thai theater in minutes, they should have had several live showings in Thailand to increase their revenue, the audience is definitely there)
- they should have had the theater/livestream finale a few days max 1 week after the episode 11 YouTube released and then a few days max week for the YouTube release, the 3 weeks was too long
- should have been clear from the beginning that the livestream would have English subtitles
- should have had the livestream be a window of at least 6 hours for those who were sleeping during the livestream (maybe there was a rerun option added later but that wasn't well advertised)
- release on a platform like Vimeo, the Thai platform wanted a ton of personal information including passport number/drivers license, even if they could add Vimeo as an option for a rental that would be great

enjoyable dynamics

Overall: this is a fun series to watch. Aired on GMMTV Official YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLszepnkojZI5mgMqk8OoJKiHi5w4sjv77&si=EYdqKME7kRZUBekz (not in U.S, Canada, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines) and WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/hweztzqcn9jg8di/j4101hgdaaf-EP01%3A_My_Romance_Scammer (in the U.S. and maybe other countries that are geoblocked with YouTube).

Content Warning: manipulation, slaps, non con touching, non con kisses

What I Liked
- visuals/styling (though some of the styling felt like it was from the 70s/too oversized)
- easy to understand premise
- made me smile several times
- how Pai and North had different personalities

Room For Improvement
- was disappointed by the lack of impact/groveling
- antagonists suddenly were supportive
- Tim's parents put him through so much for nothing, why didn't they talk to him

refreshing to see two guys hot for each other

Overall: it's really nice (and rare) to see two guys who are equally into the other person intimacy-wise, though I am aware the series had flaws. 10 episodes about 50 minutes each. Aired on IQIYI https://www.iq.com/album/peach-lover-2026-1x86zyfuj9x?lang=en_us

Content Warnings: past suicide, manipulation, kidnapping, beaten up, violence, attempted rape

Watch Suggestions
- start episode 1 at 4 minutes
- start episode 2 at 5 minutes (did not need a 4 minute recap)
- watch episodes 3 & 4
- start episode 5 at 19:30
- watch episode 6
- episode 7 stop at 50:30
- episode 8 stop at 7:30
- episode 9 watch 42:40-end
- start episode 10 at 5:30

What I Liked
- Sasom was upfront about what he wanted
- Po was into it and not a blushing virgin
- sensual scenes done well (though wish there was a safe sign/word in episode 3)
- it seemed that Sasom did not tell what Po to do in episode 4 which I appreciated
- a character punched his dad who deserved it and there wasn't a crappy redemption arc done
- a character talked with what appeared to be a therapist in episode 10

Room For Improvement
- the AI generated art at the beginning and the end of episode 1 and throughout the series which was ironic given that the main character's job (drawing book covers) is being rendered obsolete by AI (can start at 4 minutes to skip it for the beginning of ep 1)
- voiced inner thoughts (so much telling instead of showing), narration dumps
- side couple was just there, I didn't know what purpose they served
- episode 4 was a bit disjointed, suddenly they had a fight, this choppiness happened a few more times
- the break up was nonsense
- comedy sound effects did not make things funny

not a romance and not anything else

Overall: as someone who has enjoyed many bodice rippers, this 90 minute movie totally missed the mark. It didn't do the romance well and it didn't do any other genre (mystery, action etc) well either. I haven't read the books and am basing this movie on its own merits. Aired on WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/2fs0u4bifngi23w/r4100rhuz4b

Content Warnings: rape (repeatedly), sexual assault, violence/beaten up, drugging, held against will, manhandling, non con recording/sharing, manipulation

What I Liked
- visuals and that mesh top
- other than how the characters are all related to each other, the premise was fairly easy to understand

Room For Improvement
- even when something is based on source material, the production can't assume every viewer has read the source material, they introduced a whole bunch of characters (some with their names written on the screen), did not explain everyone's relationships to one another well, never gave an explanation for why that horrible "plan" was concocted/carried out
- couldn't root for any of the couples, 3rd couple it happened when one was shown to be drunk, 2nd couple had a terrible redemption arc maybe if 6 months ago he had shown discomfort over what he did and then in the present he had not repeatedly violated the other guy's boundaries then I could have rooted for them, and the first couple....I think that's evident, was Stockholm syndrome happening, wth
- total nonsense things ie why first take revenge on a person who created a plan instead of the person who carried out the plan, character was gone for at least 3 days (or long enough for cuts/bruises to heal so weeks???) and no one was concerned about his whereabouts, he seemed totally fine after something completely horrific, he had access to his phone but didn't call the police, etc
- jarring tone of domestic bliss to something extremely horrific
- multiple flashbacks/time jumps
- cliffhanger ending with no guarantee of a sequel

a comfort show with some hiccups

Overall: the sweet/caring dynamic was fun to watch, but there were a few plot/character missteps. 12 episodes about 45 minutes each. Uncut on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/your-sky-episode-1-1mjy70t567o?lang=en_us - March 2025 update - episodes were released on YouTube https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcTibKbv20S4l3tuUU0ydM9BzZEc0nrLm&si=LnuYC1wmH2gpjVlP 2026 update - episodes added to WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/r3h2ene4cmpd65i/k41013dmdeh As of ep 4, I don't see any difference between the cut and uncut versions. This review is for the uncut version as that was the only entry when I first reviewed this.

Content Warnings: manipulation, non con touching/manhandling, punches, non con picture taking/sharing, coercion, transphobia, non con touching, victim blaming, homophobia, manhandling

Watch Suggestions (uncut version, only ep 1 is currently available as cut on YouTube)
- watch episodes 1-6
- episode 7 watch beginning to 3min and 52-end
- episode 8 start at 13:30
- episode 9 skip 31:30-35 and 38-44
- can watch all of episode 10 though the second couple annoyed me
- episode 11 watch 4:15-21 and 47-54:50
- watch all of episode 12

What I Liked
- showed a main character as kind through his actions at the beginning
- caring/sweet dynamic and that they communicated
- one of the few child-like characters who had agency (actively made his own decisions without being manipulated into things)
- supportive friend group
- Fah's loving and supportive family
- non cliche ex girlfriend
- intimacy and check ins, continued intimacy/not rebuffing intimacy

Room For Improvement
- character exposition dump montage with voice over for the other main character
- though Rak had agency, his continued child-like demeanor got on my nerves after he and Fah were intimate
- the stereotypical trans woman character
- nonsense stuff: so drunk he couldn't recognize someone but still able to stand/walk and talk, friends didn't seem to know what was going on but everyone else did in ep 2, that the antagonist didn't switch his focus to someone else
- in episode 6 they needed to show them filming so viewers realized that it was for the student film and didn't really happen (on/near the beach)
- in episode 7 what a character did could have killed another character, that was too violent and though the couple did briefly talk later, I couldn't totally trust a character that showed that level of violence
- a character randomly showed up to comfort Oh, they could have weaved that character in earlier
- nonsense in episode 8, there was plenty of time to say something to another character
- in episode 8 a 3rd couple came out of nowhere, could have built that up better
- the victim blaming in ep 9 was infuriating
- continuity error in ep 9 of no pants and then pants
- some of the camera angles were odd
- episode 10 with the apology letter and shopping part
- episode 11 a character acted totally different (and other characters hinting at it didn't work because what I saw as a viewer was different), the other adults not saying things right away, the manhandling, the 180 shift, none of it worked for me
- episode 11 and 12 should have reduced the family drama and spent that time better developing the second and third couples
- (neutral) comedy sound effects

Question - I'm wondering if the nickname "Saggy Cheeks" would better be translated to "Squishy Cheeks" - if anyone who speaks Thai can talk about the translation please let me/us know. "Saggy Cheeks" has a negative connotation to me but I had the impression that it was a silly nickname, not a negative nickname.

a mixed bag

Overall: the first story was adorable, though that vibe didn't last. Not sure why so many characters ignored boundaries, but it was not romantic. 8 different stories, each in 2 parts about 15 minutes total per storyline. Airing on Strongberry YouTube Channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNd7BhdAz80ptzaxeYXbVCLVXH7JXtely&si=_AO3vgmNtpY2d-vI - later aired on Shortime, my invite link is https://playground.shortime.app/en/invite/NKNIWI - the code is NKNIWI (those are all capital letters, that's the capital letter i) and it should get you a bonus. Note each episode is 120 popcorn which is pretty expensive/will take a while to watch for free on Shortime.

Story 1: Want To Grow It? rating 9 (strangers)
Super adorable, focuses on 2 characters with an easy to understand story. Good production value.

Story 2: Folding You, rating 8 (university students, 1 is quirky)
This was quirky, didn't feel the chemistry as much.

Story 3: Sweet Mischief, rating 7 (servant contract/blackmail)
The blackmail wasn't cute nor was seeing several uncomfortable kisses.

Story 4: Sleep Around Still Mine, rating 8.5 (friends with benefits)
Overall well done, though they could have cut the ghosting.

Story 5: Craving You, rating 8 (actor/manager)
Not a fan of the non/dub con kiss in the first part and the change seemed sudden.

Story 6: Not a BL, rating 7.5 (coworkers)
Bad that he didn't explain what the job would be. Not sure if the owner was helping?

Story 7: Sweet Mischief, rating 7 (trying to get into university)
Not a fan of repeatedly ignoring boundaries and the non con kiss.

Story 8: A Killer Recipe, rating 8.5 (former boyfriends)
I was a bit confused and needed a little more explanation. Note, likely murder off screen and blood shown.

a comedy with great chemistry

Overall: I enjoyed the chemistry with both couples. 10 episodes about 45 minutes each. There was a bonus scene at the end of episode 1 and also 10. Aired on WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/ev770x3txo1kfou/l41011jleaz-EP01%3A_Me_and_Who

Content Warnings: attempted murder, death off screen, manipulation

What I Liked
- chemistry
- sweet/caring moments
- cameo of the Khemjira leads Keng and Namping
- Knock Knock Boys on the tv
- they avoided a cliche in episode 9
- redemption arc for two characters

Room For Improvement
- not good world building: there was a large assumption made by a character in episode 1 and there were inconsistencies in the rules that they set
- nonsense stuff like going to bed with sleep masks but leaving a bright light on, leaving the curtain to the bedroom open when they don't want the butler to know what is happening, perfect hair when they woke up in the morning, one dead peacock that seemed to travel to every room the characters were in (update, I must have missed it on my first watch but it's Apo's "sleeping buddy" and they show him moving with it, I didn't take off any points in my review for this part lol)
- I did not laugh at most of the comedy (including toilet humor) as it went on
- the 'let me explain' and doesn't explain/the other person leaves without an explanation

A short & sweet slice of life story

Overall: this is a 28 minute slice of life/coming out story with an established m/m couple. Watched on Gagaoolala.

Content Warnings: none

What I Liked
- a sweet established couple
- the mom was observant
- the sibling communication
- the (short) m/m couple communication

Room For Improvement
- the dodge at the end/not very clear, but I think this is also realistic in some instances
- they could have cut the scene/other character with the writing and spent that time somewhere else

vibed with the second half more

Overall: I did not enjoy a child-like character who basically stalked a seemingly uninterested character for several episodes. Note this review/series has something that might be triggering. 12 episodes about 45 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/duang-with-you-uncut-episode-1-1i3zcr5hiek?lang=en_us and episode 1 was on Mandee YouTube Channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcTibKbv20S7j_lCcNUEywFWET_lybdJZ&si=kC4Ac1i6KZTkdSmx

Content Warning: stalking (portrayed as romantic), hits (portrayed as comedic), past child abuse shown

Watch Suggestions for Uncut version (if the dynamic at the start doesn't work for you and this takes out content warnings/focuses on sweet parts)
- start at episode 6 at 20:30
- stop episode 7 at 57 min
- episode 8 watch 8-12:45 and 35-end
- episode 9 watch 4-6:35 and 20:30-end (skip 42-43)
- episode 10 watch beginning-22 and 40:30-51:50
- watch episode 11 but skip 26:30-37 where there is a flashback
- watch episode 12

What I Liked
- easy to understand premise
- supportive friends (though they sometimes shared 1 brain cell)
- visuals
- cameos/supporting roles
- sweet/caring moments
- intimacy scenes done well
- talked about flexibility in positions

Room For Improvement
- the child-like character (one time he said "I'm sulky now" while pouting and stomping his foot) who relentlessly pursued a seemingly uninterested character (at least 1 time he told him to shut up) and this lasted too long before being reciprocated
- pointless side couple
- comedy sound effects did not make things funny

I really wanted to like it

Overall: I was super excited when the series was first announced to have a lead in a m/m romance series love to wear high heels, be confident, etc; however, the mediocre writing let the actors down. This is based on a webtoon that I haven't read and I am reviewing the series on its own merits. 13 episodes about 50 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/play/i-m-the-most-beautiful-count-episode-1-1hwby7xm14c?lang=en_us and YouTube (initially georestricted) https://youtu.be/JW3Sni7GJK0?si=Rn-vf6SAfAvJ1lRe and later released the uncut version on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc3B9DM2kKP4EegqnIzsaSDs6QYjvE7cs

Content Warnings: slaps/hits, attempted murder, multiple murders/deaths, blood, drugging, queerphobia, violence, manipulation, past bullying

What I Liked
- that the lead wore stilettos, had long nails and was sassy
- historical setting
- styling
- talking about queerphobia, inequality
- sweet moments

Room For Improvement
- the switches between slapstick comedy and massacre of innocent people was jarring
- a common stereotype of effeminate men/trans women in media is hypersexualized/handsy and comic relief but in the 'laugh at you' and not 'laugh with you' kind of way. Unfortunately, the writers reinforced both of these with their lead character. Even more jarring is that the series is trying to call out inequality and queerphobia yet engages in writing stereotypical characters. I do not blame the actors at all.
- the writers were maybe trying to portray Kosol as stoic but he came across as abusive and violent especially in the first few episodes
- it was supposed to be a comedy but I rarely laughed, it has many comedy sound effects that didn't enhance the humor
- love triangles/love rivals/jealousy (the main one took 10 of 13 episodes to resolve)
- I liked the side couple a bit but not how the one with more power commanded the other guy to do things on several occasions
- no one told 1 character a plan in episode 11
- the fake out in episode 13
- note: at 7m 30s in episode 6 when the character said 'kathoey' it was translated as trans woman. They should have left it as 'kathoey' or maybe used 'ladyboys or him say "I am a queen" because trans woman was not an accurate translation.

quirky series that felt like it took me 1000 years to watch

Overall: I was excited for this quirky romcom but it was extremely slow at times and had odd tonal shifts. It's from the same director/screenwriter as I Will Knock You and they had similar aesthetics. 12 episodes about 40 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala (not in Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau) & WeTV (vpn to Thailand).

Content Warnings: attempted suicide, murders, blood, violence, self harm, stalking, trespassing

What I Liked
- cute moments
- supportive friend group and sister
- eclectic wardrobe (sweaters/shirts) and accessories (umbrellas)
- the cat
- ep 5, good he didn't kiss Yoh when sleeping
- ep 9 around 31 minutes
- Shin
- (neutral), the comedy sound effects are there but not as egregious as in other series

Room For Improvement
- very slow pacing for most of the series, I was frequently bored with the eating, dancing, talking about pork blood soup, etc
- Yoh did all that terrible stuff to Pun and even though Pun said he was fine it made me really dislike Yoh, Yoh was too dumb/mean for me to like him and Pun was also unbelievable stupid/unaware for someone who has lived for that long (Pun is explained in episode 12)
- the tonal shifts from fluffy/campy to violent/serious (such as the beginning of episode 2 which I did not find funny) did not work for me
- inconsistent/convenient world building, information in episode 8/9 did not mesh with the exposition dump in episode 2 (some of it made sense in episode 12 but that was too long)
- not sure why they tried to do the tease at the beginning as the title, summary and trailer all gave a plot point away
- there were some fast cuts in the beginning and I wasn't sure if there was a time jump or not until the scene went on
- exposition dump in most of episode 12 and revealed information much too late
- one dimensional villain character
- felt like a middle school romance

promising start that devolved into terrible communication

Overall: I thought I had found an obsessed ML I could vibe with, but the series is lost me with neither lead able to talk to the other for many episodes. 10 episodes about 40 minutes each. Aired on YouTube

Content Warnings: past violence & blood, coercion, near suicide, kidnapping, violence, non con kissing/touching, mental health struggles, beginning sexual assault, manhandling

Watch Suggestions
- at whatever point you start to lose interest skip to episode 10 15:55 minutes and watch until the end

What I Liked
- visuals
- the initial set up of an obsessed ML
- the brother relationship

Room For Improvement
- I've heard from several people that this is plagiarism of Jinx. Instead of boxing it's tennis, instead of a grandma it's a brother but the plot is practically identical including some dialogues. The production either needs to say they bought the rights to Jinx or they should have written their own story.
- characters were continuously stupid and refused to communicate, a 1 minute conversation would have cleared everything up
- characters went hot and cold
- choppy at times

episode 1 was cute, episodes 2 and 3 not so much

Overall: the episode was adorable, but sadly the taller protagonist became a creep. 3 episodes aired on Sukfilm YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYfaogVGCvwRyiN_T-FGdRCUj9cxgr0Gn&si=hrdtTjcl9etN7ACD

Content Warnings: there is borderline/is emotional partner abuse/lovebombing, non con kissing seemed to turn consensual

What I Liked
- episode 1
- mostly centered on 2 characters
- visuals

Room For Improvement
- the taller guy was giving creepy/ignoring boundary vibes, when he said "if you keep making me upset, you have to be punished", "don't even think about running away" in episode 2 and "do you think I'll just let him run away" in episode 3 the lines came across as very threatening, it's like he thought the shorter guy was an object that he deserved instead of a person with their own agency
- stupid plan in episode 3
- a character said he wasn't into guys in episode 2
- background music is too loud and constant

a supportive ML

Overall: I appreciated how Lin Xiao was kind and supportive. 55 short episodes. Aired on iQIYI https://www.iq.com/album/%E6%8D%A1%E4%B8%AA%E6%80%BB%E8%A3%81%E5%BD%93%E7%94%B7%E5%8F%8B-2025-1oqynntut75

Content Warnings: drugging, sexual assault, manipulation

What I Liked
- visuals (once that awful facial hair disappeared)
- a character didn't take advantage of another character because he was drugged/not in his right mind

Room For Improvement
- too much of the evil family
- comedy sound effects didn't make things funny
- almost needed to be more unhinged/dramatic to really pull me in (or get rid of the annoying family members)
