His Beautiful Jerk
Overall: Although I heard that the characters were more developed/had character growth in the manga, I am only reviewing what I saw in the 6 episodes. If this had been an explicit dom/sub and/or sadist/masochist relationship with discussion about rules and boundaries, then I would have enjoyed it more. Watched on Gagaoolala, it's also on Viki.Content Warnings: manhandling, repeatedly name calling (disgusting, gross, stalker), there are two scenes in episode three where I began to think that Hira is a sociopath
What I Liked:
- the intro animation sequence was really cool and it set up the story well
- overall good production value
- good acting
Room For Improvement:
- the intro sequence and music sets this up as a silly and upbeat show and the vibe is much darker
- the accordion music was an odd choice for the intro animation, seemed to be the wrong vibe
- Hira is obsessive and does stalker behaviors. I was hoping to see character growth when he went to college, but saw none.
- I was hoping Kiyoi would have character growth but he continues the name calling, kicks and pushes Hira to the ground.
- I didn't like all of the "you are gross/disgusting/stalker", it sounds like it may have been a translation issue but the number of times it was said was a turn off
- did not like the master/servant dynamic without discussion of dom/sub

musical coming of age BL
Overall: the underlying premise was fine; however, musical montages didn't develop their relationship well. It was difficult for me to root for their romance. And they each fell a bit petty with quitting the club and then refusing to communicate. The ending was good. About 30 minutes long. Overall: this 30 minute special felt very much as a continuation of the series (both the bad and the good).What I Liked

- no character growth, that other dude was still just as insecure and jealous though at least his boyfriend liked to kiss

story about acceptance
Overall: this is a short movie (35 minutes plus behind the scenes) about self acceptance. I gave it an indie rating bump as it hovered between 7.5 and 8 for me. - needed a little more relationship development, what made them love each other
- the off screen panting went on too long, perhaps there is a missing NSFW scene for channel members

very NSFW with a messier plot
Overall: the title on GagaOOLala is "Sex Drifter" which is pretty appropriate. This is more of a messy plot and less idealized romance. It is a Japanese pink film which is about an hour long and very heavy on the explicit NSFW scenes. I wish they would have not opened with alternating NSFW scenes because I wasn't sure what the relationships were between the characters. I also wanted more pleasure instead of pained expressions and I will ignore the lube that magically fell from the ceiling. The messier/realistic plot didn't bother me in particular and I was fine with the way it ended. two short special episodes
Overall: the first word in the title is English, the final 3 are French so it reads as Forbidden New Time Taste (if someone is fluent in French please correct me). Aired on GagaOOLala https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/4079/ossans-love-returns-telasa-spin-off-2024-e01Episode 1: 20 minutes, seems to take place in the middle of the season, characters meet at work to fix a mistake and reminisce about dates/romantic partners.
Episode 2: 16 minutes, takes place after the wedding ceremony, Maki & Haruta host a party and characters talk about what they were going to say/do at the wedding/the story behind "noisy lips"
I really enjoyed both episodes but I took off a half point for cutting away from the kiss.

- *I wish their getting to know you/falling in love wasn't done in montages, they could have cut/reduced other scenes (including the time jump) and actually had these scenes with dialogue
- I didn't take off points but I don't think a homophobic parent would have queer movie posters on the wall of their workplace (pretty sure that set is the production's office, however, they could have removed the posters or covered them up)
- because it was a time jump it felt like a very fast/unrealistic turn around for the dad
- using alcohol as a catalyst to their spending time/relationship

fun crack comedy short series
Overall: this is a fun webseries. Each episode is about 7 minutes long followed by behind the scenes stuff.
