Oh i KNEW it from the start that the reason her time stops and goes up even around ML is because she is leeching off his lifeline, and it goes this fast suddenly. I wish she would tell him but i bet she is going to ghost him now like his ex did (yikes) which leads to their breakup and then reunion in the end episodes. I know this drama has a happy ending but i have no idea how they are going to get there. Which keeps it interesting, ngl
idk if it gets annoying later but five episodes in i don't get the hatefest for this drama here on MDL. The leads…
Yeeeah, i knew that them getting together so fast is gonna be a problem, tbh. Now the middle part/second part of the drama gonna drag a lot and a well-communicating lead couple suddenly stops doing so for the sake of prolonging artificial conflicts and assumptions. May have to speedrun through the episodes of inevitable breakup incoming soon-ish. And SFL is showing more and more what a disgusting fakeass snake she is to no one's surprise tho. Still like the premise of and the details about FL's ability. It is rather tragic that nothing can be done to change it and she is forced to just watch, particularly with the events in episode 7/8. It breaks my heart, honestly. What a bummer that they missed the chance to name this drama "Lifeline" bc this would have been the perfect title for it.
You forgot to mention Welcome 2 Life there btw ๐คญ(where he played a serial killer with a hammer๐ ) Idk, maybe…
There is the police colleque/partner of FL with a longtime crush on her, but it is one-sided and never amounts to something (I mean the leads *are* married in one world after all. There is a bit more rivalry/LT in his og world but still mild) Imo he or it wasn't annoying and it more used to spurn ML into action- and/or for comedic jealousy scenes. (Rain being jealous and puffing himself up is hilarious tbh) ML is only ever interested in FL. Hope that helps ๐ (I wrote a longer comment about the show in its comment section btw)
idk if it gets annoying later but five episodes in i don't get the hatefest for this drama here on MDL. The leads work for me, the way ML changes and opens up to FL is adorable, as is them growing closer together with each episode. sfl is a subtext spewing ๐ like usual, the rich family toxic and the business scenes boring, nothing new here. But i really like the premise and romance thus far. It is inoffensive and cute with a lingering sadness and longing underneath which heralds some tragedy incoming, but also with a good message to make the most of the time we are given. They both help to heal each other and learn to literally, well, live again, without fears or regrets. So far, so good. Gonna update underneath, as i watch.
The main reason it seems boring to you is because there are no stakes. In season 1 the cat and mouse game between…
Honestly i could watch jehoon playing dorky undercover personas to fool and punish the baddies for another hundred hours minimum, no problem. (His country bumpkin character with tractor, fitting outfit and accent and all from episode 4 still lives rent-free in my head ngl ๐)
It was a bit slow at times, but the characters and their relationships did really make it worth it to stick to it. The way they evolve and how ML in particular changes over the course of the story is very rewarding and satisfying. It is one of the few kdramas with a supportive (once ML stops being a callous asshole hellbent to go back, that is) and affectionate married lead couple. I loved ML's journey from "this is a nightmare i hate it here. This life is pathetic, i want to go back to all the nice things i have there and i am not married to my ex gf." to "this is my wonderful wife and daughter i may just know them for a couple of weeks but if anything would happen to them i would kill everyone in this room and then myself" //BB99 meme ๐ and his many ways to regain the heart of his ex gf in his og world never failed to crack me up. FL was a bit much with her violent outbursts at the beginning (however justified) but the show managed to give her much more depth and backstory as the story progressed, so you understood where she came from. They both made a great onscreen couple and investigative team together.
It has some very uncomfortable scenes regarding abuse and murder of women and children tho. Nothing too graphic but still unsettling. So it is not your happy to go to fantasy romcom and much more of a crime thriller with humor, romance and cuteness (the leads' daughter is so adorable) mixed in to color its otherwise dark canvas of righting the wrongs in the past in more than one way. Everything in the end comes together in a logical, satisfying way and i think this drama is indeed way too underrated and overlooked, unfortunately. Especially if you like your crime thriller interspersed with other (lighter) things/genres and wholesome character development, instead of it being grimdark all the way through.
Oh, btw watching this drama right after finishing "Crash Course In Romance" and discovering Shin Jae Ha being part of the cast as well, was such a trip, because he was the personified spiderman pointing meme as a character in here hahaha. (if you know you *know* ๐)
i think i put this on hold until next week and watch the four last episodes back to back. It kinda stresses me out too much to wait for single episodes with that show rn ๐ฉ๐ตโ๐ซ
i have to often remind myself that this is basically a korean soap opera, bc boooooi this show ain't good for my blood pressure. There are too many asshole characters i already wanna punch ๐
You forgot to mention Welcome 2 Life there btw ๐คญ(where he played a serial killer with a hammer๐ ) Idk, maybe…
It took me some times to get used to them as leads and romantic pair, but they are making indeed a cute on screen married couple and good investigative team (once he stops being a callous asshole, that is.) Hope you enjoy it, it drags at times but imo the story and characters are worth it. Especially after ML "returns" with a changed mind and has to face the consequences of his corrupt actions in the "real world." (Why he wakes up from coma is still living rent-free in my mind, but spoilers haha)

It is a good show with a morally corrupt lawyer going to all extremes for money, who wakes up an upstanding prosecutor in a parallel world after an accident. In order to get back, he has to right the wrongs he has done and solve crime cases while also dealing with suddenly being longtime married to his ex gf and a father (cutest kdrama kid ever.) His character development is done gradually and very satisfying and the story is executed well too. Quite the underrated kdrama imo.
Shin is playing your usual unassuming perfectly prim boi who does shady shit in the background until he does not so in the background hammers people to death. It is such a well done cat and mice game between the leads and him until they figure it all out and he once more excels as psychopathic serial killer. However, I watched this drama right at the tail of Crash Course In Romance, so imagine the trip it gave me to see him suddenly pop up there *insert spiderman pointing meme here* ๐

Yeeeah, it is borderline creepy tbh. But hey, i get when you are like a 16 yrs old LDH fangirl now disappointed how "oppa" won't love you that a woman being 32 yrs old seems ancient to you. But it is really not and once they (hopefully) grow up and out of their internalized misogyny and ageism, they will be able to recognize that. Fingers crossed, lol.
First of all I'd like to say thanks to those who explained that this is a sort of soap or novela which explain…
i have the feelingg the clothing style of ML's fam is that way to express that they are very conservative, even for SK standards. Rich people nonsense with some joseon delusion, basically. Also afaik they keep it very family friendly and safe, as a family drama is as the name implies watched by the whole fam, and by a lot of ajummas at that. Which probably reflects in the style to be very modest and "old." But also generally the production quality is lower with these sort of dramas than your standard kdrama with 12-20 eps
