it is garbage
The story, itself, didn't captivate, but the actors entertained me. Sometimes, that's all I need from a drama.

I can't rely on getting a good story every time. Sometimes, I have to settle for appreciating the cinematography or even the OST. I'm appreciative if there is just one thing I can learn, one twist I didn't see beforehand, or one visual different from anything I've experienced before. I'm trying to be more accepting of flaws in dramas. I have a bad habit of tearing things apart and wanting perfection, and life usually doesn't come up to my standards.

Here are some dramas that came close:
My Dearest, https://mydramalist.com/733821-lovers
Alchemy of Souls, https://mydramalist.com/52939-can-this-person-be-translated
Joy of Life, https://mydramalist.com/28674-joy-of-life (only two seasons are out, with a third pending)

It's definitely one of the good ones! My only issue was that my brain kept comparing it to Chinese wuxia dramas…
I was fortunate to have a clean slate. I'd never seen a Chinese wuxia. It was all new and exciting for me.

This was one of my first K-dramas, and I was blown away. Sadly, this was before I made reviews, so I don't remember much, but my 9.5 rating tells me I loved it (and I'm generally a lower rater than most of MDL, and I was really a low rater when I began).

I recall it was a little jarring for me when the actress switched, but I was soon on board again. Beautiful cinematography, meaningful philosophy, and a beautiful OST made this drama nearly a perfect watch. Easily one of my favorite dramas.

GREAT review!
Thank you so much! I loved that the drama introduced me to a part of Korean culture. I wish I'd enjoyed the rest as much.

Is there a subscription fee for Kisskh? Do I have to sign in through another social media? My three-month trial period of Disney+ is almost over, and I'll gladly let it go. I thought it would be sunshine, roses, princesses, and kittens, but it was darkness, violence, serial killers, and evil spirits!

I don't generally watch Thai simply because I'm more comfortable with Korean and Mandarin languages, but you have me convinced! Where did you see this, if I may ask?

Review Perfect Crown
So much potential squandered. At the end of it, I had to tell myself that it was pretty and it managed to entertain me. However, as you say, it had too many faults to become memorable or a favorite. It was just an average rom-com, but, sometimes, that's all I ask. It won't make the rewatch list.

In IU's defense, the script did her wrong. The writers made her unlikable and unnecessarily tyrannical in the beginning when it came to her business, but all that disappeared as the show went on. After her initial rages against her employees, the character's personality was muddled. If you want to see IU in a clearly defined role, watch her in My Mister. It's a very gray, bleak drama, and IU plays the exact opposite of her role in Perfect Crown.

The ending was nonsensical. We're supposed to believe abolishing the monarchy, which was basically a puppet show orchestrated by the politicians, makes everything better for the common citizen when, now, the politicians have unfettered, corrupt power?

I took it off my To Watch list. I want to like the characters. If I can't find something appealing, I'm not invested. They don't have to be green flags (in fact, I find gray characters often more interesting). They can be Moon Lover's Wang So's angry and cruel; Eternal Love of Dream's Dong Hua's aloof and dismissive; or Boys over Flower's Gu Jun Pyo's arrogant and controlling—as long as I can see the humanity behind the facade.

I usually don't notice things like wigs, even when I know an actor is wearing one, so I assumed the nail complaints…
I try hard not to notice, but when the wigs or nails are glaringly bad, it's impossible not to. It's amusing that EVERY male in historical times had the EXACT same weird hairline.

It was also distracting how the fake nails would disappear and reappear. Like I believe she got a manicure the morning she left the hospital? The cheap press-on nails seem to be a new feature. I hope it doesn't last.

I guess I'm going to have to start fast-forwarding through credits in order not to miss anything!

Thanks. I don't know how many "endings" I've missed because they've been tacked on AFTER the closing credits! I recently watched a drama that had cute epilogues after each episodes closing credits, but I didn't know until I'd watched most of the drama. At the very least, the director should have a little blurb saying "Stay for epilogue after the credits" or something to let the viewer know.

I still have Moonlit Reunion on my to watch list. If I eliminated every drama that ended disappointingly, I'd likely have a very short list!

I interpreted the ending as a happy one (or so my notes say!). For a mini series, it was a good watch.

Review You're My Pet
Just finished it loved ML who I discovered in "Glass Heart" and "Feemats kitchen " - I really…
I used to think 16 episodes was the sweet spot, but then I discovered C-dramas that go on forever, and some of them are worth 78 episodes (The Story of Ming Lan). It doesn't matter to me how long the drama runs if it keeps my attention. I don't see many J-dramas because subs aren't available. I've seen a few on Viki, but their selection is limited. I've got Glass Heart on my To Watch list.

I looked at your list. I think you'd like Twinkling Watermelon: https://mydramalist.com/739603-sparkling-watermelon

Must I suffer through ghostly white faces attached to brownish underjaws. necks, forearms, and chests? The list…
I sounded a bit melodramatic, didn't I? I wasn't actually traumatized, but I didn't think a chaebol would scrimp on her manicures!

I could have overlooked this, because it seems 59% of dramas have Blossom in the title! It's on my Watch Next list now.

Review First Romance
I moved it to "Low Priority." I know I'm blunt (and that does cause problems), but I've never allowed a misunderstanding to go unaddressed. It drives me mad when supposedly intelligent people can't discuss things. It's weak writing.

Review Lost Romance
I rated it a 9, too, and I very rarely outscore the MDL rating! I'm a low rater in comparison. But this drama did cliches right! And I loved that bewildered look the ML would get when reading FL's romance books.
