I appreciate your stance, and you need to follow your moral compass. I hate predators, especially those of children. I have no understanding of nor forgiveness for them. Having said that, I've always enjoyed creative community endeavors, whether it was theatre, choir, or other events. I've performed, danced, and sang (all amateur!). I painted sets, applied makeup, and distributed programs. I know the hard work put into productions from the performers, crew, and supporters. In Dr. Romantic, there were 123 actors, which is only the tip of the iceberg of all the people involved with the production. There were makeup artists, costumers, set designers, and even electricians and caterers. Then there were the people who put up their money to finance everything. So many people involved, literally hundreds, many of them decent and hardworking. I don't want to punish them because of one man's evil. I respect people's autonomy. I never wanted to be with someone who didn't want to be with me, so I can't really understand people who do. The attraction has to be mutual, or it's embarrassing and problematic for one. I can understand the pain of rejection, but I can't understand the need to hang on.
If you enjoy Lee Rang, watch the sequel, Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938. I have to admit I stopped it halfway, because I was so enjoying Lee Rang, and I didn't want anything to happen to him. As long as I don't hit play, he lives!

Writing is hard, and I'm even harder when critiquing, because, to me, it isn't the costumes, sets, or scenery that make a drama. It's the story. I can handle bad wigs, scenes of musical instruments bringing forth exquisite music by barely being touched, and pretty girls with obvious breasts playing the part of a eunuch. I can even handle bad acting, although good acting can somewhat redeem a weak script. It's harder to overlook plot holes, uneven writing, and a lack of respect for the intelligence of the viewer.

I can probably handle that. It's odd. I can watch a historical drama in which people are impaled with swords left and right (but, let's be honest, the scenes are never gory with gaping wounds; there's some blood dripping from the garment, and it's hardly torn!), but I get so stressed when the psycho in a love triangle tries to do terrible things to the favored couple. I had to give up on the Hong sisters' Sassy Girl, Chun Hyang because the stress of two manipulative wanna-be lovers was too much for me.
On the other hand, the Hong sisters were the screenwriters of Alchemy of Souls, one of my favorite dramas. It can hardly be described as gentle or calm! Blood and treachery everywhere.

When the boys left the country, I was inconsolable, knowing how hurt everyone was: Jian Jian feeling abandoned, Xin Cheng sacrificing his happiness for the safety of his loved ones, Ling Xiao leaving the one ray of sunshine in his life to be manipulated by his deplorable mother, and the fathers having their family dispersed. Definitely a two-hanky watch!
The writer did a credible job of making noble idiocy understandable and misunderstandings believable, something most dramas fail at.
