this is a really great drama with amazing characters!
i love our ML the most; starting from an immature playboy to the end of the series where he becomes one of the most important people in the kingdom. his progression from being at the very bottom of the power chain and slowly gaining achievements was fantastic to see. the FL played a perfect role as well. i have to add she's a great crier. not doing too much or too little. i have to say at times, it moved me too. her strong demeanor with his childish personality was such a fun watch and combination. their romance was slow but oh my it was there from the very beginning. with little glances, small actions, bantering, they both had such a natural progression of love. it was beautiful to watch.
the plot was definetly fast. in 40 episodes we had like 4 diferent arcs. in the beginning it was great, the politics weren't crazy hard to follow/understand and the actors were great so the momentum was there. toward the end i felt like they were adding points into the story that had no reason to be there and it got me raising eyebrows. they were killing off characters like it was nothing. overall the plot was pretty good, a bit funky toward the end but still quite enjoyable.
overall it was an okay drama. nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. just alright.
ive watched all of ZYR's stuff and i love his chemistry with everyone else but with her i genuinely felt nothing. idk if it was her acting or his "cold" acting, that wasn't a good match but smtn def felt off. her acting in the emotional scenes felt very forced and not enjoyable.
the story wasn't bad it was a very typical high school --> college --> work plot with overbearing parents. but genuinely in the last 10 eps or so, it seriously felt very draggy. 7.5/10
had to quit its super boring the 2 lead got no chemistry what so ever
ugh ik. ive watched all of ZYR's stuff and i love his chemistry with everyone else but with her i genuinely felt nothing. idk if it was her acting or his "cold" acting, that wasn't a good match but smtn def felt off. her acting in the emotional scenes felt very forced and not enjoyable.
im sorry but she has too much chemistry with ming xu for him to play her brother LOL
rightt like genuinely for a bit i was wondering if theyre gonna make her brother the SL or smtn. like i saw those looks he was giving her that cant be just brotherly affection. but then again maybe i was just reading too much into it
im not really a fan of slow burn romances but for this drama i didn't mind it at all because it was more about shaping the personality of each character and their individual stories. And i still had hope that they were bring it all together in the end but the ending for their romance was so unsatisfactory.
their adult life should've been a bit longer. I think them getting together so fast after so long apart should've gotten so much more attention and it just felt hollow to me. they wrapped everything up in 2 episodes so their romance definetly felt rushed.
overall though i really enjoyed this drama i binged it all in one day.
this drama was absolutely hilarious icl. chengcheng's character was so funny and i loved her best friend right by her side. it was an amazing pair of best friends.
one thing that really tugged on my mind was the amount of psychological trauma that tangqi was put through because of chengcheng. obv, not on purpose but still. every version of chengcheng that tangqi interacted with, it caused him insane stress at the end that it seriously impacted him. while each character's arc was happening, his reactions were funny without a doubt because that was the tone of the drama. but i feel like by the time the last version of chengcheng died he was in so much mental distress that it totally outweighed the comedy that happened in the episodes prior because i was just filled with pity for him.
finally when chengcheng came clean, my personal opinion, i feel like he forgave her way too fast and instantly fell in love with her. literally in the span of one episode, he forgot about his depression which was caused by her and fell in love. i understand that all the characters were essentially chengcheng's personality but i just think he forgave her way too fast. personal opinion.
the best thing hands down was the second couple. literally no complaints about them. the communication was off the charts. i loveddddd their chemistry and banter. at one point i was tired of the main couple and i was just eager to see the second couple. wish we got to see their child at the end hehe.
overall it truly wasnt a bad drama at all. definetly felt draggy at some times but the humor, chemistry, and unique plot + message makes up for it. 8.5/10
so far, the synopsis isn't really catching my eye tbh. its giving very typical office romance where the leads are depressed and they become happy together. i hope there is more to the plot than just that. But definitely the actors are amazing which is why i'll fs give this drama a shot.
this is such a smart idea!! my ptw list is growing bigger and bigger by the day that i just end up forgetting about the ones at the bottom of the list and then i feel like i have nothing to watch
really enjoyed this drama!! what surprised me the most was how fast-paced the romance and story was without feeling rushed. i loved it sm. the romance and chemistry between the leads was spectacular!
i also really loved how complex the FL's character was. usually we get a complex ML and a kinda plain FL but the roles were kinda switched in this show. we got a pretty straightforward blank ML and a FL with multiple layers and it worked amazingly.
i would have liked to see more of the relationship between the ML and the SFL, and see their backstory, since they were living together for basically the whole show. but we got plenty of backstory and development between them which was enough for the story. the SFL at times was doing too much, like she gotta chill a bit but wtv we gotta do to get that climax ig.
overall, the romance between the mains was amazing, and the story, for the most part, was enjoyable, but it did have me questioning at a few points.
love ghosts and law so a drama with the both of them combined? count me in. right off the bat, i loved the ML's acting. everytime he got possessed, he really sold the act which at times, was lwk cringy but hilarious. as a lawyer though, he was a weak character.
the drama really underutilized FL imo. she could've been a very strong character but they just kinda let her have the backseat after her case was done which really dissapointed me.
story wise, some cases were fabulous and attention-grabbing but others not so much. The last few eps really got me just fast-forwarding but that doesn't undermine the previous eps. i also realized quite early on that the romance was not a priority in this show. i felt we had a little progression during the FL's case and then boom nothing until the very last episode. but i do understand that romance isnt really the focus genre in this show.
overall, quite a good drama but does fall flat in some area. 8.5/10
Love triangle ? I don´t think so. Happy end? Yes.
meh maybe a slight love triangle because of the SML who does play quite a big role plot wise, but he doesn't do anything detrimental to the main leads' relationship romantically.
I'm super picky about watching certain tropes in dramas (eg. time traveling, big age gaps, etc) so when I saw this drama airing with age regression and romance, I immediately shut it down. But I finally caved because I love PerthSanta and I have to say I am not disappointed at all!!!
They handled the age regression and romance with finesse. Santa did a magnificent job and differentiating the two characters (Sun and Solar) that I did not feel the least bit icked out. Perth, as well, did amazing with his role as a caretaker.
This drama dived into some deep topics but also kept the balance of comedy and romance which is definitely not as easy feat. I must say due to the comedic nature of this drama, if you're looking for a show with lots of romance or plot this is probably not it. But still, an amazing weekend watch to pass the time.
oh gosh i just finished it and i cannot wait for s2. i loved the characters and the slow burn which i'm not usually a fan of. the plot was a bit wonky sometimes and i got a bit confused occasionally but nothing too crazy.
I can't lie toward the last 10 episodes, it truly felt like the drama was dragging. I felt like the amnesia plot in the last bit was just so unecessary we could've for sure done without it. And this is just a personal preference but it miffed me a little that MQQ never truly became herself again. Just RanRan with MQQ memories. Overall very strong drama with amazing casting just dragged a bit toward the end. But still loved the ending!!
amazing. spectactular. perfection. deadass everything in this drama was amazing. ML was the definition of cold on the outside soft on the inside and FL adapted and broke him down little by little. Beautiful execution of the politics in the plot. It was super easy to follow and I was instantly hooked. Also strong FL let's goo !!!

also a moment for the OSTs!!!
