I have just wateched first 10 min of ep 10, but can't put this question off my mind...is ML gonna land in trouble…
Its kill or be killed in the space the ML is in. All participants are aware of that fact. Morals are not playing a part in the garden visit nor in cultivation in general for that matter.
the CGI is really a let down. I was expecting very good CGI. The story is not bad. I find it ok, but I am not…
Not just standarnd CGI. It actually includes an 3D technique using motion capture to animate the faces, fight scenes, some landscapes, etc. It helps to create the moiré effect on the vegatation, landscape, etc. providing colour depth, depth of field, and a fantasy effect. The use of live action (on location), 3D rendering, and CGI are creating a cross between the donghue and a drama (leaning towards a dongue) making this drama a vfx first round masterpiece (so far). Suggest taking a look at the dongue that ran for a number of years as a point of reference.
After reading the comments I'm literally on a pause with this drama cause some say it's pretty impossible to cram…
I would not want to miss out. To get the full effect of this amazing cultivation story its advisable to experience all 3 genres. The novel, donghua, and the drama. They all offer a fresh/new perspective and then its just a matter of taste. The same donghue team did this drama working closely with the novel writer. True I prefer the donghue (so far) and I am still enjoying the sht out of this drama.
Please can someone explain? In most series the protagonist is obviously struggling to develop, but ultimately…
ML is not a hero he is a cultivator with hero tendencies - trying to do the right thing under the wrong circumstances. He is a weaker man navigating the sect world as it presents itself in a kill or be killed situation. If we look back at his Masters ultimate mantra the goal of the ML is to live immortally as a mortal.
Depends what you're looking for. I personnally find it pretty boring, badly directed, badly lit, and badly written.…
Its not the lighting its the 3D effect. Feel like this is an uniformed opinion. The drama so far is 🔥🔥🔥. Highly recommended though you may want to do a bit of background research before starting so you know what you are watching and in turn how to critique it. That and the first two episodes are packed with info so it may seem slow. Good luck.
Wasn't it classified as a Xianxia all along? (MDL tags are often wrong)
mortal to immortal journey starting as a ("realist") and moving to a xianxia. how I interpret it. no matter the classification, this is a 'new breed' of novel to donghua to drama leaving in as much detail and resolution as possible.
Is this moving from a wuxia to a xianxia to a xuanhuan? Starting to wonder. They are managing to keep the wuxia (real) in the ML's fighting form and hero making though his burn them up with a straight face and walk away is more kill as needed vs battling evil. That fact that the genres are moving around at all is 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
Its a wuxia/xianxia drama hybrid. Front end is wuxia and the further we get into it the more it morphs into a xianxia - though the hero spirit and fighting style of the ML stays true to wuxia.
BTW - the director/production team/writers call it a "realist xianxia"
