The main problem with this love story is that the drama didn't make Nan Ya's feelings believable. Although the show depicted the leads as two friends who genuinely cared for each other, I never felt that their love was developed or deep enough to explain Nan Ya's longing for Ji Yan. This is a classic example of a show telling us something instead of showing us.

We are halfway through the drama and aside from ZLHās awesome scenes, the plot is not giving me much. Some things are happening but I feel nothing much is happening. The emotional scenes have no impact on me. The couple is cute but lacks depth. Too low on angst for my taste. I was hoping for Dark ZLH but nope. He is still cute thought. At least after the time jump Iām starting to find the fox guy cute rather than annoying. Iām glad he is a brother type not a stupid love triangle with the FL.
ohh Ji Yang is the fashion demon with that triple outfit change in mere seconds lol. I like the upgrade in Nan…
My jaw literally dropped when ZLH turned around and appeared in this new darker version in black costume. I donāt think Iāve seen him looking THAT good before (and I thought that in MJTY he already looked sooo good), they knew what they were doing with this styling š

You know, somehow I actually didn't believe that he was really cured. I still felt like he only led her to believe he was because her face looked so expectant. He was still a test subject after all lol. But if he really was, I still consider it as something like recovering from an illness. You may be cured, but your body is still in its recovery process and not yet back to its 100% capacity. Especially since he had only JUST taken it.

Let's see if I can address your points...
- From how I saw it, you have to remember that he has not fully recovered from his heart condition yet. SC was injured more after being hit by NY while trying to subdue her when the genie twins joined. Right after that, he fought the demon guys and then depleted some more power to keep her from falling. By that point he only had enough left to levitate her out. When he was at the bottom, he was only able to perform the incantation after the demon had started entering his body and when he absorbed the rest of them inside him. That's when he used them to gain enough energy to make his killing move.
- The genie only seems to appear whenever she has to fight opposite demon people, not in all times of danger. Notice how it didn't do anything for her during the lightning punishment?

- I think she could only control what she has consciously cultivated so far and since she isn't aware of the more powerful side of herself, I don't think she can control that aspect. I also believe they still need to learn "double cultivation" in order to do any kind of pair moves?
