is this any good people? 10 eps in and 8.0 in ratings...
It is really good. Do not sleep on this. So many people outside of China do not finds republican drama interesting ( probably political reason ) but it is great. Suspense and spy game are tense. Production also high, it feels like a movie than TV drama.
Teaser Trailer is cool but visually feels kinda generic and lack of flair. Nothing different from all costume dramas in recent years. But people came for story and cast so all is good.
After the japanese invasion 1931, it was created and existed from 1932 to 45.
I knew it. But Manchukuo history rarely taught everywhere else unless China probably. Pop culture is the most efficient to tell a history but that also do not in favor telling Manchukuo history. You can't expect Japanese make anime about it despite their role and presence in Manchukuo was big.
Well surprising they do not shy away Manchukuo was Japanese territory. Lot of Japanese in this drama, they rather feels authentic as well. So many just background characters. But still it provide historical accuracy.
