If I were to say something..... I think the drama truly gains colors when Hua Ruyue comes back. Like, I remember being luke-warm about it at the beginning but after Ruyue appeared - wow. It was incredible.
But you should do whatever you feel like it. If you dont feel like it's your cup of tea - I understand. I also don't like every drama out there no matter how popular so. ☺️
Happy first anniversary! I still love this drama to pieces. It was beautiful, emotional journey and I still cry whenever I rewatch it. Hua Ruyue holds the crown as my favorite female character ❤️
If there's anyone visiting here who still haven't watched it - please give it a go. It's very worth it.
I recently watched Love Punch while waiting for the second episode of this. It has a fansub that can be found…
I don't really care for intimate moments or even kisses if the story is good and there's chemistry between the leads. Plus, I had my eyes on Love Punch some time ago already so thank you for letting me know the movie is finally available! Will definitely watch it!
honestly it's been a while since j-bl would get me this invested with just TWO episodes. but I'm ready for the ride with the two fools (said with affection ofc). I'm a bit behind with j-bls this year. anyone knows if there's any other already released I should give a go while waiting for new episodes of Fake Fact Lips? Just please no bad endings, I'm vunerable.
The novel us a great read. Too bad they’re not completely following it. If they did, we’d have two seasons…
To be fair the lack of the Xu family - as painful as it is considering their role in the novel - kind of make sense if the writers want to highlight Ye Li's own journey. She will be more alienated and won't have anyone supporting her. There definitely won't be the "reborn" details either but it will mean that everything she's going to know, everything that she's going to learn is going to be her own efforts which is also nice.
Either way - I really really look forward to this drama!

You're right, I'm also curious how they're gonna tackle the time-jumps and all of that. I'm wondering if we're gonna be introduced to sweet Mo Xiaobao or if they're gonna make a lot of changes if it comes to main plot and 'main villains'. I feel like Mo Jingli may have a bigger role than in the novel. Maybe he's gonna take some of the more dramatic events from the novel that belonged to different villains. I have a feeling in the drama the main plot may be happening more 'locally'. As in: we won't experience the vastness of different kingdoms/etc. That would probably require tons of money 😭
As user above answered already - both are villains but I really can't wait to see especially Mo Jingli on screen cuz in the novel he's obsessed with Ye Li to the point it's toxic. Definitely red flag. But his obsession is fascinating 😄 it's kinda born from delusion and then it melts into regret.

Maybe controverial opinion - but I actually kind of like that they're changing things. Of course I would also love a perfect 1:1 ecranisation but as I know it's impossible considering censure and stuff, I actually like the fact that there will be changes. Cuz I see it like that: since we're not going to get a perfect ecranisation anyway, they may as well tweak things around enough to take the best from the novel and add something new so we can be surprised. I'm already super happy because I consider the novel perfection - one of my most favorites novels for sure - I don't mind the drama to be a loose adaptation if it means they're gonna truly give us the best kind of script, the best kind of changes etc. And considering we're getting /the/ Bailu and /the/ Cheng Lei as main leads.... I'm literally over the moon. I adore them both. I think if anyone can give Ye Li and Mo Xiuyao a justice, it's them.
You mean Mo Jingli and Ye Ying? I mean in the novel they're not exactly... loving towards each other. Pretty sure in the drama they'll have bigger roles, too than in the novel. Perhaps they're merge villanous characters into fewer ones.
I'm currently reading the novel and I love the way Xiuyao is absolutely obsessed with his wife. Their love and affection is just so pure and cute and sweet and precious and I enjoy the novel so much! I know they're gonna change a lot in the drama - and I don't mind! But I hope the way Xiuyao is completely whipped for Ye Li is gonna be similar as it is in the novel ❤️ This drama is my most anticipated drama of this year. I think it's gonna be great and Bailu and Cheng Lei are just PERFECT. Their visuals match on unreal level. I can't wait to watch them create magic on screen.
I'm wondering if it's gonna be available on Netflix global as well. I hope they can confirm where international fans can watch it too, soon. It's not that far to the premiere, after all.
ahhhh lord here we are again with a whole week of this complaint dear freedom your vase and treat yourself we…
Could say the same thing. Ah here we go again. Not being able to take anything remotly close to criticism even if it shouldn't brother you since - I'm assuming - you enjoy the series. You do you, have fun. People have right to have different opinions.
For some reasons Desire stans on twitter can't handle nothing remotly close to criticism so I'm just going to leave it here.
I will say before the last episode airs: I am quite disappointed with this one. I do think that it's mostly because of the ugly marketing tactics of the company that was promising dual main couples so I expected much more from Wenlang and Gaotu's storyline, but it's also not-the-best writing. There's still do much unresolved things and the episode is 45 minutes long so I can't imagine the last episode winning me over. It is sad as this series definitely had a lot of potential and there were some moments I enjoyed but I don't think my overall rating will be high. Guess I really had expectations where I shouldn't. Its a good lesson for the future to not think too much before a show airs.
That being said, I definitely congratulate the actors cause given the script, they did their very best. They should be proud of themselves.
So true. I continued the series just because of Krailert & Naran. Technically, the whole plot revolved around…
Right. There's also the fact that now I feel like those students whose names ide remember got more well-thought ending than Naran. I'm so disappointed. And feel betrayed as a watcher, ig.

And another project with Chimon x Ohm! What a great time to be alive 🔥🥹
