Oof the way he dropped that bomb on her about kusaka seeing them- he's a narcissist fr 😔ðŸ˜
Definitely found him one of the least likeable characters in jdramas, no depth, manipulative. Really had a hard time understanding what FL had such little self-respect - I'm thinking of letting him into her shared room on the work retreat. I mean who wants everyone in the office knowing your business?? Seems he did - confirms he was all about himself and not her.
noo nevertheless the japanese version he redeems himself and ends well
Yes i remember you said that before. I watch boyh jdramas amd kdramas. There are some kdramas that are good too - though I prefer the jdrama format which has fewer episodes (though sometimes jdramas coukd be a little bit longer) As a European I find it interesting watching both which are definitely quite different. Jdramas (the ones I've seen - I'm no expert) are often more low-key than kdramas but I like that not every character is wealthy etc - sometimes just stories about people who seem normal modest jobs not chaebol etc. Often about different types of families , cross-drrssing, differences which I find interesting.
I'm finding it hard to verbalize the watching experience. Awkward? Maybe. Angry? No that's not it. Someone down…
Know what you feel I haven't finished Episode 4 and already finding it weird... I get the weird attraction that FL is trying to figure out but not 100% sure why she's dragging Kusaka-ku into her mess...
Just finished it - really lovely story well acted. Never understand why so many j-dramas are rated so low! Is…
Thanks for the explanation - having never grown up on manga/anime I do find that some series based on them tend to have that exaggeration you talk of. I've seen quite a few jdramas the last few years that I've started watching both jdrama and kdramas, and I do like quite a lot of them which are quite different to kdramas, often nothing glamourous about the characters etc and often nothing too dramatic happens : I find this somewhat refreshing to some kdramas where everything is included in the storyline. I understand the pressure to fit storylines into a format I suppose in an ideal world I'd like less than 16 episodes (which most kdramas are) as often they go off on tangents I'm not interested in. Some jdramas which I've really liked I wish they'd done another 2 episodes or so (or even more than 25 minutes per episode)..

First Love is one of my favourites bought the OST and pretty much every cd by Utada Hikaru. I don't know most of the idols but can recognise good acting. What irritates mr the most is the FL big eyes passivity inspired by original manga, never grew up with mangas so find that part most irritating. Some series are brillant but would ike another episode or so. Most are 8-10 episodes which I find a bit too compact sometimes for the storyline but preferable to 16 episodes in k- dramas with everything thrown in.
