thank you for your review- I've just finished it. I found the "steamy " scenes very funny (don't know if it was in the manga) I loved the actors and the relationship between the ML and FL despite their differences they always communicated and respected each other. Refreshing to see a healthy relationship with some quirkiness. Would definitely look out for other shoes actors are in. Also nice to see colleagues supportive rather than backstabbing.
Exactly! I've seen age gaps works in dramas and real life. This relationship felt empty and with a bit of discomfit…
Yes jdramas are normally more tactile than this one. The interaction was more parent-child than romantic couple perhaps that's why it felt so uncomfortable to watch and unnatural. It felt for me she needed a father figure and he wanted to be a Mum - not the best base for a romantic relationship. If they'd remained friends and she married the other guy it would be more believable
thank you you've identified exactly the problem with their relationship I totally agree. It was more of a codependent relationship than a romantic one which to be honest I didn't believe. There have been series May to December for example about a couple with a 20 year age gap but where they both seemed like a couple a connection communication not just transactional. I thought the actor who played Nagisa looked much older than he was meant to be. If they'd stayed as friends I could have believed in it but not as a romantic couple.
thanks for the review - loved Takeru Satoh in Love Last forever and whilst I have never watched mangas I found the FL in that really irritating. FL here better but ML had no expression whatsoever (we won't get into the stalking/imprisonment!) Also loved A story to read when you falling love - loved Ryosei Yokahsma since seeing him in Nevertheless. I'll finish this drama as I've got a cold so it won't be too taxing on the brain.
Totally agree- the childhood history was unnecessary. Felt last episode was really lethargic like they were really dragging it on to last 16 episodes. Couldn't stand the annoying boss so irritating and pointless.
I'm just watching it - skipping a few episodes as only wanted to see ML again as saw him recently in Melo Movie. Wish kdramas wwre shorter like jdramas - often 16 episodes too much..Definitely good actor will watch out for him again. Personally get fed up with the orphan/ abandoned tropes. Have 2 more episodes to finish it - read some spoilers so ending not too sure what I'll think about that.
good review having watched quite a few jdramas/kdramaa since I just recently discovered them I'd recommend not to watch it: there's a lot more jdramas doing it better (age difference couple "May to December "), arranged marriages ("Marriage with me seriously?) Housemates becoming romantic partners (why I dress up for love) - all 3 had better chemistry between couples and more believable.
You expressed perfectly how I felt about the "romance" - very weird. Definitely FL would need to sort herself out before getting into any adult relationship. She Definitely had issues (besides hating housework) which she needed to deal with. Found ending weird - that last episode was even weirder regurgitating everything that we'd already seen
Thanks for the advice saw him first in "Welcome to Samdahl" and thiught he was very good. Didn't actually recognise that this was him til I checked the cast!
Thank you for your review I agree entirely with you. Whilst I like Kang Song, I didn't find the FL in the Korean version plausible. I also preferred this version- I've seen the FL in another Japanese series and I like her. For me it also felt more realistic (for a start the FL seemed to spend more time on hr art than the FL in the Korean series. Everything about this I loved - perhaps as an older person I prefer the Japanese more contemplative style. Watched it twice. Loved all the characters
