Is this drama heavy on romance? I like romance in the drama but try to avoid romance is the main theme or the drive to push the story.

Agree with you on Hong Bing and I have a feeling if she ends up with him, there relationship will be messy.

Ok, with today’s episode, I now understand why people are saying she won’t end up with Feng XiaoXiao. He is…
We still don't know the background of Feng Xiao Xiao and Liu Hong Bin. Although Feng Xiao Xiao appears from a pretty good family, certainly better than LaiDi's but still could be from a small place. From the episode 32 Laidi's uncle seems to know Liu Hong Bin's family because he made the phone call to try to get him out of the jail.
Their upbring and the family background might make their personality. Liu Hong bin is very assertive because he was spoiled. The drama has reveal any of the background of these two. I didn't read the novel so can't even make a guess.

Sorry for the long winding post, my point is Feng Xiao Xiao didn't even try to fight for Laidi. Even though Laidi had ascended high, he should have at least tried to fight to get her if he really loved her.

Are you looking for romance drama? If so, this one has little and the first 14 episodes focus on the childhood of the female lead. If you like a slice of life story, then this one is for you! For me so far this one is one of the best dramas in 2026!

The number of watchers is crazily low for such a perfect show
It's not an idol romance drama and that's why!

For people who love the closing theme song, I read it from the Reddit that the closing theme song was sung by the actor, Sun Hao 孙浩, who also played the gate keeper in the drama. The gate keeper's screen time increased after episode 15 and he played an important role in our FL's life.

The actress playing young Yi Qing’E is superb. Conveys all the right emotions to the audience.
Does anyone know the child actor's name? I can't find her name in the cast section.

Can anyone can help? I'm trying to find out who sang the ending song. Thanks.
Faye Wong's song is the opening song.

Couldn't find the ending song everywhere in the U.S. However, I found out from the ending credit that the closing song name is 梦醒了 sung by 孙浩.

Sorry that I'm not sure about the English translation for the song title and artist's name. Perhaps some one who has the access to the Chinese social media can find the ending song video.

Liu Hao Cun enters the drama at episode 14. I have been crying watching the last few episodes. The drama is holding up well and it's so good, great acting from entire cast, wonderful story not just about the protagonist but also the support characters. I also think this drama has one of great story telling style.

Not going to argue with you on this because I agree with you!🥲 I almost quit on watching Blood River because Gong Jun's line delivery was so stiff and flat which was very painful for me to listen to since I do understand Mandarin and couldn't close up my ears. I remained because of the intriguing plot!

Because both dramas are wuxia genre so both carry the characteristics of wuxia. The plot of Blood River is dark and not sure about this one because it's too early to tell. But we all know Yang Yang can fight and has a better line delivery than Gong Jun.
