"The Bad Kids" (2020) - modern, thrillers, mystery. A story that follows three children from a coastal town who unintentionally film a murder scene.
"Oh No! Here comes Trouble" (2023) - A high school student who gains superpowers after a near-fatal car accident and embarks on a fantastical journey with rookie policewoman.
I thought it's a light romantic drama because of the poster I wasn't even going to watch I was wrong .. one of…
The mother is so scared to lose another daughter, Qing Yu so she's somewhat unreasonable to control and protect Qing Yu. In the later episode, I cried with the mother for her pain, guilt and regret for the loss of Bei Yu. This is an excellent drama, portraying the parents who're working poor and not very well educated but they love their children the best they know how, in a very awkward and silent way.
There was sexism there. .I think the grandparents wanted the parents to focus on raising the boy.
Money The grandparents don't really care about who'll stay with them, Bei Yu or Qing Yu, as long as one of them stay with them, the parents would send them the money to cover the living expenses of the girl. Bei Yu is such a kind and sweet sister, who knows how awful and miserable to live with the grandparents and the number one uncle and aunt (Qiao Jin Rui's parents) so when she looks at her younger sister, Qing Yu's face, she can't bear the thought that her sister would suffer like she does if she chooses to leave with her parents and leave Qing Yu with that awful grandparents and relatives.
I am thinking about stepping into the world of cdramas. Do you think this drama would ease that? The premise does…
Not sure what type of c-dramas you enjoy, modern, romance or costume romance but any way "Lighter and Princess" - modern romance in college campus setting
What a wonderful drama with so many important issues but still with pure love between FL and ML. There were sad, regret and pain from the parents. In the end the FL is like a phoenix reborn from ashes. I love the ending so much so I re-watched it. This high school youth drama is not your ordinary, puppy love type drama and it touches many meaningful issues. For me, this drama is 10/10! By the way, this is not a youth romance drama; it's a healing, finding yourself and the truth drama.
Me too. Lei Jiayin's acting is given for granted, he is always perfect in all his roles, so the real surprise…
I was holding my breath when the first time watching Lust, Caution. I was drawn by both Tang Wei and Tony Leung. Tang Wei was so young at the time and perfectly fit for the role. I enjoyed the first half of Ming Dynasty until the death of Zhu Zhan Ji (played by Zhu Yawen). I love this kind of costume dynasty drama, such as Ming Dynasty and The Imperial Age, so my bar is set very low for them. Good for you to go to the Venice Film Festival to see Tang Wei Golden Era!
Me too. Lei Jiayin's acting is given for granted, he is always perfect in all his roles, so the real surprise…
I love the way you critique these famous actors, so blunt yet so true. As much as I love ZYL's acting but your assessment on ZYL is spot on and I have never noticed this traits of his acting until reading your comment with a smile1

My goodness, I thought Liu Haoran didn't make it in the industry after NIF2. I think that Zhang Ziyi has had only one drama, The Rebel Princess, and so has Tang Wei, Ming Dynasty. I always want to watch Sparrow and now it's the time for me.
Me too. Lei Jiayin's acting is given for granted, he is always perfect in all his roles, so the real surprise…
The discussion is so interesting! I love Zhu Yilong's acting but he hardly has new dramas any more. Zhou Dong Yu who is fantastic in Better Days would never make it in the drama land without being established first in the big screen.
