Never changed how? I'd say they're both selfish, in the novel, he KNOWS she has feelings for her and uses it to play with her. He admitted this. She was truthful at times, so you can't say never. And what didn't change? In the novel, he's way more toxic and she becomes toxic herself to counter him, then she just leaves and builds a life without him, something she needed.

I agree, he does put more in...because he doesn't have as much to loose as her. The effort he put in, is great but it's not great with someone who's holding onto the, we aren't anything deeper conversation they had before they started this. It was causal, nothing serious, he didn't have time for serious emotions and only fun. She's held onto that and she doesn't want to let go because he's never sat down and said to her, i want to have an honest relationship with you. I want us to go the distance, this isn't just fun. Even calling her his girlfriend, break up happens, she knows she'd be destroyed if he didn't want her anymore so she's not giving enough for herself to be hurt.

that's fair and why i asked for some convincing, i normally don't complain if things don't go the way i expect for a story but i can say, i tend to give that grace when it's an original story.

and it's not like it always happens, i was able to put up with the double, blossoms of power, prisoner of beauty and a few other dramas but for some reason, this one is just getting to me and i don't know why.

if i could put a finger on why, i think i could get past it. it also helps when it's more of a surprise that the change happens. i'm mainly on twt, so i just might need to mute the tag/show name/characters, give it a few days to let the episodes pile up and then just watch

i don't need to bet and i get logically why things are changed for different mediums but in this case, its more of a turn off when i normally don't have that issue. i might have some dislikes but not enough to put me off watching the drama or even needing to comment about it

so, i hate novel change just for some more drama, tears or sadness for sadness sake. they already did this with the one friend, who in the novel lived and had a happy life, i've seen some previews, things coming out such as zhao ling having to kill a lose friend, losing his support base and etc.

i don't MIND if shows have this type of plot line, i really don't....when it's an original...script, so i'm enjoying show, im enjoying the plot of what i know of it but im just not down with all of the changes
