This drama really creeps up on you. After I finished it I was sure I didn't like it but then found myself still thinking about it days later. It's VERY SLOW to an annoying degree, but despite that, there is something about the characterization that is strong and impactful. Unfortunately, there's no way I can rewatch this because it really is painfully slow, so I'll never get a chance to explore why it was so gripping to me after the fact. I'd say it's worth the watch though.
EDIT: a month after watching this show I still come back to rewatch. Not the whole show, but certain scenes. There are a couple of scenes in this show that are very powerful, one of a kind, and something I've never seen duplicated in any other drama. Nothing else comes close to the raw intimacy and yearning in some of these scenes. Without me even realizing, this show has become the benchmark for which I measure every other show I watch, it's like a spell has been cast on me lol. So I'm raising my rating for this show to a 10 for this reason.
Lee Min Ho has given three flops back to back.THE KING. It's internationally famous but still flopPACHINKO- has…
Pachinko is excellent. Viewership has no correlation to the quality of a show. For example, shows like My Demon have great ratings and are absolute garbage.
I live for this level of angst. And the legal cases didn't bore me either which is rare for me. Excellent writing. Phenomenal acting. Especially the two main leads. I'm starting to realize I have a very different idea of what "romance" is than most people on here. Everyone says this show has no romance, but in my opinion, it's dripping with it. They showed how much they loved each other in literally every episode, in so many different ways. The chemistry was off the charts.
Ju Ji Hoon is literally the only kdrama actor who can get me to sit through a drama that has absolutely zero romance in it. He's a very talented and engaging actor who can sell anything. The rest of the cast is great too! I especially loved the jealous colorectal surgeon with a soft spot for his daughter, he was hilarious. A really fun, easy watch.
I swear you're all over this site making weird comments like this. I've literally never read a good take from you. You must live a very sheltered life.
A simple, feel-good show. A little on the extreme end of the cuteness scale but done very well! I loved the chemistry between the two leads and all the characters were very funny! I usually drop cute shows like this but the FL was just the most adorable and loveable character I've ever seen that I literally couldn't turn it off. Really so good!
