Just watched the first half an hour of E11, and I'm going to drop this one. Didn't even complete the episode. Hmm... I am not feeling this drama. I don't think there is anything wrong with it per se, but it doesn't make me feel anything.
I do like the way the romance was built, and also that the leads make an effort to communicate. That's definitely a plus. The chemistry is not phenomenal or sizzling, but it's there. And I do think this is the strongest point of the show. Unfortunately that's not enough to sustain it (for me)
RE: Won Jin Ah's acting as Song Ah. When I saw her in Just Between Lovers, I thought she was easily one of the best finds. What a natural. But in this one, she just doesn't do it for me. She's not bad. But it's not a natural performance. I feel like she's just mouthing the lines. I really wish also that they tone down the powder & make up on her face.
I like that they show them working, but the work doesn't in anyway contribute to the plot (they really need to learn from J dramas on this one). It's like they work, then they spend time outside work but we don't see how the work impacts their lives - like the kind of people they meet, the kind of stories it teaches them. You can tell that it is one big advertisement (all the makeup products they test) Also, I dislike how K dramas showing workplaces always focus on the politics going on, rather than real stories of what working is like, beyond just the office bitching & bad employer. I do get that this is a romance, but like it doesn't flow. If work was to merely serve as backdrop to their romance, then it should have been more tightly interwoven with the romance. Maybe I'm being nitpicky about this. Nonetheless, I do appreciate that this drama shows people working, unlike 90% of Korean dramas.
Now the biggest issue - the characters. SIGH. It's like we're watching old K dramas from the early 2000s. They don't feel REAL, and the kind of situations they are in, I thought we'd get to see layers to their personality because the issues are very real. But they are all so one note.
ML whose life we know little about except that he loves the FL. His character has little set up other than the boy in love with the FL. Exact same issue with FL. Mum's plot was there but it was resolved so easily, it made me wonder why it was dragged for so many years. I don't know if it was the director/writer's choice for Mum to make that pitiful face (which was irritating) or it was bad acting from the actress. I hope we won't see her again. SML marrying because SFL threatened to kill herself. SFL hanging on to SML she is obsessed with despite him being so obvious in his treatment of her & even telling her that he doesn't love her. 2nd sister/husband/chef angle is being dragged out so much. Get to the point, show. Going by the way mum's angle was poof, I feel like we're all speculating & nothing huge will be revealed LOL.
I've been craving more fluff but now you've got me hype to watch this :D
Hehe hi five!! Yeah I wish more ppl watched Ojisama to Neko, it's like my comfort drama that I watch before going to sleep LOL. It just puts me in a good space. It will end in March, so will most of the J dramas I'm watching currently :(

Hi five!! We're watching the same dramas :) Oh yes, last season was great from Remolove to 35sai no shoujo! I am also juggling so many dramas atm, and there are more ongoing ones that are also enticing... like I wanna watch them all but don't have time. There's also the thing that not all J dramas get subbed :( Nice to meet another fellow J drama fan.. as much as I wish that more people watch J dramas (& not typecast it as cringey), I like that I always bump into the same people on the J drama pages.. it's a small community so everyone starts to know everyone :)

Haha no. It's like the other pianist brings over his catvthat looks exactly like Fukumaru (the only difference is that Fukumaru is white, and the other cat is black)
This was so much fun! I really wish it had a 2nd season. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to watch something…
I loved how Shinagawa seemed to get a kick out of Hana confessing to him LOL! The scenarios he would come up in his head were absolutely hilarious. I bet they had so much fun filming this drama.
Also Shinagawa had so much charm lol (probably had a lot to do with the actor who played him) I was totally crushing on him throughout despite his yankee ways LMAO I looked forward to everyone annoying Shinagawa, from his family to Hana hehe
I love how contemplative E8 was. Sometimes you just got to step back to examine your life & decisions. I applaud the writers for the way things progressed. A big THUMBS UP for deviating from the K version.
