I actually really liked this drama! It was short and sweet, with a lot of cute moments, so it's perfect if you…
Exactly, overacting is actually expected in live-action, specially comedies. This was really fun to watch (I chose it among your completed list, where I review your ratings when I want to watch J-dramas or movies)

Ok I guess I overstated the awful part. It’s just the rest of the cast seemed to play there characters more…
They do portray manga characters that way, especially comedies. You should watch the famous classic Nodame Cantabile (2006), one of the highest rated live-action that won many awards (including Japanese Drama Academy Awards for Best Drama, Best Lead Actress, Best Direction, Best Music). It won awards (high ratings too) in South Korea. Even in stingy imdb site it's rated 8.3. The sequel and movie are also very good.

I'm not understanding all of these negative comments. This show wasn't supposed to be serious or "oh my god" worthy.…
I agree 100%, and it was so much fun! I loved the way the ML portrays his manga character (reminded me of Nodame Cantabile), and most of the characters. I know I'll rewatch it again sometime.

Title Secret Love Affair Spoiler
It makes one wonder what other great dramas are hidden under a 7.8 score. The problem is that most of them deserve…
That's a very good idea! I know that many asian tv series are in wikipedia where most of the time they indicate the ratings (red for high, blue for lower), and if it's written in korean, I can right-click google translate. In fact, I'm watching Which star are you from, which had the number one rating for each episode when it was broadcasted and here is 7.4. Wish me luck lol

I goes like this: I love a drama and rate it 10, then read the reviews of those who rated it 10, go to their completed list, filtered the lists by rating, and read which dramas they rated like me (we need to have several similar ratings to work). I also do this with high rated dramas that (for me) turn out to be average (i.e., you are my glory), or overacted (i.e., weightlifting fairy kim bok joo), or boring (i.e., thirty but seventeen), etc etc, so I look for those who also rated them like me. Another thing is that in this site there are members that give 10 to a lot of their dramas, but this doesn't work for me, because I'm a very long-term member of imdb, where I rate my movies. Movies are very strictly rated there because story, acting and music aren't the only things considered (others are original script, directing, editing, cinematography, production,, etc). I'm new in dramaland, and haven't been able to completely shake off my film-rating habits yet, and that's maybe the reason why most of my similar reviewers here are also stingy with their rating lol

My solution has been to find MDL members who have given similar ratings that I gave to dramas, especially to those where I gave a lower rating to hyped high rated dramas, and viceversa, which for me is a strong indicator that we share similar tastes. Sometimes I've watched drama they haven't rated yet, but I've had better luck going through my list of similar reviewers, saving me the searching or trusting the ratings here. By the way, this drama is in my pending list.

I found this on https://www.dramacool9.co/heart-to-heart/ It is a very good drama.
The image quality is much better in kissasian.li, just remember to switch the resolution to 720p at the bottom of videos.

After watching some more-than-overrated dramas in the past weeks, I found this gem among the high rated dramas by one of the members I follow. It's short, very good production, editing, acting and a dark humor plot rarely found in C-dramas. I'm still smiling about it, and I wanted to share my smile in this chat :D

"which star are you from" about a man who meets a village girl who looks like his girlfriend that died 3 years…
The standard story structure in romance books, movies and tv series, include secondary male and female leads to propel the relationship to some direction, as well as to gain insight into the main leads through their interaction with secondary leads, as well as side characters. They are not meant to have happy endings or to end up with the main leads. Without them the love story of the main leads can only be showed in shorter length films, such as movies or mini-series, but cannot be accomplished in longer series such as dramas. Please note that this basic structure of romance found in books, tv series, etc, is not exclusive to K-dramas, but used all over the world. You haven't filled out your list of completed dramas here, so I'm not sure how many you have watched, so maybe you haven't realized yet the role that various group of characters must fill. But I can recommend you dramas that I've watched not only from several Asian countries, but also from Turkey, Latin America, Spain and United States, where you can confirm that the secondary male lead is very disposable and only used for the sake of the main love story.

A show that started good and went into the abyss real quick.

Title Doctors
Have you seen Black Knight?
I wanted to, but I watch dramas and movies for entertaining and sad endings depress me. So I just started watching Which star are you from, he's younger there (25) but his acting is great and so far the drama is really cute

Does anybody remember the name of a historical drama where the main leads must kiss (or are compelled to kiss) to achieve something?

I found it mainstream to be honest. Not productionwise but the problem was script. It was boring. I waited so…
I checked your 'completed' list and I saw that you only rate Japanese dramas and movies. Have you ever watched other k-dramas besides this one? Maybe you're not used to the slowness of k-dramas. But I agree with your comment. And I noted that more and more I prefer 'romance' chinese dramas because there are so few romance K-dramas with at least a normal pace, let alone fast-paced, and which also have good overall acting and a decent script. By the way, I have 'Promise Cinderella' in my pending list, I'll give it a try since you rated 9.
