Ok, how is the relation ship between the two main male leads in the second half?I am still processing the mentions…
I'm gonna keep this short (welp, that didn't end up short prob bc I'm too obsessed with ZYZ x ZYC XDDD - writing this after finishing it lmao) but when I first started this, I was not expecting any BL elements AT ALL! I went into it without any of those expectations WHEN it started airing. Mind you, I was watching this RIGHT AFTER I finished watching WoH and then my rewatch of The Untamed. So I was in shock that I felt like I was watching another BL for the third time in a row... During that time, I was like, "Is this fate like... was this meant to happen?" As I watched FoF more and more, I was like, "Why does it feel so BL???" 2nd half, you are gonna see so much of the 2 MLs chemistry grow even stronger, it's INSANE. Ngl, I wasn't into the straight romance in this drama and I was just shipping Zhuo Yichen and Zhao Yuanzhou lol. I feel like the story really revolved around them mainly. I see that you love BL/GL (from looking at your page) and this drama has a lot of that especially BL. And the girls you can ship too lol! I ship the two guys and the two girls more than the straight romance tho the bickering between the two was fun to watch too. Everyone is pretty shippable in this drama. Sometimes I even question if the MLs really like the FL like that just bc what they feel for each other feels so much stronger but this is my overall opinion (and I still support/respect those who may be different from me) and I remember watching during airing and many people were shipping ZYZ x ZYC together too 🤭
There are so many subtle hints that show how they feel about each other (including their eyes, the way they act towards each other, sacrifice themselves for each other, etc.). It's the fact that Yichen's goal was to take revenge for his father and brother and the one who ended up killing him was Yuanzhou (when he was unconscious)... But in the end, when they grow closer and Yichen starts to understand him slowly, he says "I am the only one who can kill Zhao Yuanzhou!!!" WHENEVER there are some ppl who just want him killed already bc he doesn't want anyone else to kill him AND doesn't want him to die so he wants that responsibility to make sure it doesn't happen bc lowkey in his heart, he wants to prevent it from happening (his death) bc of the relationship they built together :( For Yuanzhou, he only wants Yichen to kill him and no one else (that is what he always wanted). If that ain't love, then idk what is... bc wouldn't you rather want someone you love to kill you instead of someone else who harbors hatred towards you (and for no other reason for killing you)? He wants to die to help Yichen achieve his goal :( You will even see in a later episode where Yuanzhou tries to sacrifice himself for Yichen when he is in danger (which literally focuses on these main two)... the BL element in this drama is so real and no joke. In the end, bc of Yichen, Yuanzhou doesn't want to die anymore... he has always wanted to die because of the guilt he harbors towards himself in killing so many innocent people (when it wasn't in his full control)... now after building such a strong deep relationship with Yichen (who later understands and forgives him which in turn gives him the strength to forgive himself as well), he wants to live! But the end goal was to always get him killed right...? imagine the pain they feel thinking about how this moment may have to eventually come??? I honestly won't spoil you if you don't know what the ending is.
I'll be honest. I've seen people question how people see BL in this drama and I'm sorry, but to those who don't see it... "are we watching the same drama?" Their eyes tell everything. Watch, you will see the way they look at each other... it's so strong that it's so obvious. So many of us airing viewers kept saying "HOW DID THIS PASS CENSORSHIP?" "Idk how this passed censorship but I'm not complaining!" Idk if you call this a big or small spoiler (read at your own risk) but there was even an MPREG scene mentioned XDDDD
Bonus: I swear, the special episode really shows that ZYZ x ZYC are end game 😭
Also dang, this is a TMI but I watched the trailer and the MV before watching the drama and when I rewatched them, I was shocked to see some strong BL elements in both (esp in the MV) that I'm shocked that I didn't realize it before!
CHENG XIAO IS GONNA BE IN THIS DRAMA????? Welp, I looked at the cast and saw her... would've rather not known but be surprised oh well :// Well, I'll look forward to her small role here (as someone who loved her sm in FoF)! 😍
Omg, it looks like both leads have their own OST! Ngl, when Songyi's song played, I only guessed it might've been her even tho this is my first time watching her (I knew nothing of her before this)... I was like, "I wonder if this is Songyi singing (maybe bc of her voice in the drama haha)," just casually and I can't believe I guessed correctly... she sounds so beautiful omg 🥺🥺🥺 I wasn't expecting Cheng Lei to have his own OST, he sounds soooo beautiful!!!! He really needs to sing more 😭😭😭
Lemme say... Neo stole the spotlight. Even tho he wasn't shown THAT much, his role feels more like a ML role to me bc of how he is written but also bc of his acting maybe? His story is much more interesting.... his comedy doesn't feel forced at all... he just feels more enjoyable to watch that I wished he was the main character :(
I've watchined 24 episodes, and the ML for some reason doesn't catch my eye and his comedy isn't really doing it for me. At first, I didn't really think about it much but I'm starting to feel it more lately for some reason. And whenever there's danger, why doesn't he just use his own powers right away? He's literally so powerful! What's holding him back? It really annoys me that he's doing it so late that people are getting hurt already! Like why??? Idk I just find it frustrating
Wangye is the best here. Whenever he doesn't appear, I always miss him! I look forward to every single scene of his. Neo and his comedy is always so fun to watch! I never get bored of him! My favorite parts of this show are Wangye and Zhuge Qing (and ofc Baobao lol)! Love the relationship between these two. The best ship frrr!!!
And I'm really finding Wangye's comedy so natural while ML's comedy seems a bit too forced ngl... sometimes he's trying to be funny but then goes straight to seriousness, and for some reason, it does not feel natural to me... it kinda got tiring the more I watched tbh cuz it was just the same and I'm just watching without laughing sometimes oof

I only watched 4 eps and I'm loving every bit of it especially with the leads! And I love the relationship between Lishuang and her brother :( I love how they care for each other even tho it may not look like it (based on how they act). The brothers-in-law relationship is already so precious to me even tho they got shown once! And my goshhhh, JIN'AN IS TOO ADORABLE!!!!!!! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIM!!!! Gonna be so sad when he regains his memories back but when he does, hopefully we'll get that mix of Jin'an and Aodeng in him!
The chemistry between the leads is just so precious and adorable, I am so loving it! I am not a romance person if it's not really done right, but this one... for some reason, the romance is my fav part of the show! Sometimes, if a romance feels forced OR if the plot is just so bad that the romance doesn't do it justice (tho the leads may have chemistry), then... that is sad (cuz I have experienced it before). But this... wow, everything just makes me so happy while watching! I'm not getting bored at all! I am so happy! This drama wasn't really one of my most highly anticipated ones (wasn't planning on watching it while airing tbh)... and I wasn't really expecting much from it, but it definitely exceeded my expectations.
I'm so happy to have watched this AFTER LOTFG bc that one was a huge disappointment for me. The writing lacked depth (and ngl, there was a lot of filler that wasn't enjoyable to watch and unnecessary). For some reason, I am loving the chemistry here even more even tho I wasn't expecting it. I think it may be bc Cheng Lei is just so adorable (like omggg, finally not a stoic character for him, THIS IS THE BEST!!!!) but tbh I also feel like the FL feels more like an actual female general (like very natural in her role). Tho Zhou Ye was really good too (and I loved her fight scenes). It's just here it feels more natural and more believable if yk what I mean... I love how FL is so caring, loving, but also has a fun side in her too. I really love this pair. Can't wait to watch more of it 🥹
Btw, did you ever think about the fact that in Shadow Love, FL's father makes his daughter the FEMALE GENERAL because she's a better fit for it than her brother, but in LOTFG, the father is the complete opposite, betrays his daughter, and takes away her GENERAL title for his son 🫠 EVEN THO, her brother is completely not fit for it at all??? Like omg, the family relationship in Shadow Love is just sooo precious!

The VA on dramawiki/baide baike of ARP (Zhang Fu Zheng) is the same as the one here (Wai Wai) - the same person. I've checked cuz the dramas are the same for both. Also, Baidu Baike is prob the most accurate (sometimes it may be a bit delayed in putting some VAs tho, Idk how late lol). The child is surprisingly dubbed by someone too (def a child voice actor)

So I just checked and dang, his name is different on dramawiki and Baidu Baike but I decided to check the VA cast here and yeah it's the same as ARP in those two dramas. I personally do not think he sounds anything like Cheng Lei (as someone who did watch MJTY and FoF). But I guess considering the fact that GJM makes their actors dub themselves very deeply, slow, and low, maybe Cheng Lei sounds different when he talks in his normal tone so I have yet to watch a drama where he does

Yeah I saw that he has two voice actors in this drama, and one of them being the same as Lan Zhan (Bian Jiang)... but having only watched by half of Ep.2 so far, I have only heard the Ao Ruipeng VA so far. The Bian Jiang one has not appeared yet for me... it's for sure gonna be later. Btw, the ARP VA is not only used when he's a child. It also appears in the very first scene of the leads (where they kiss) so that means Cheng Lei has that VA too (not just as the child). It also appears where he tries to save the guy (in the blood pit place whatever it's called before he got infected by that thing) so it's before he turned into a child. I wonder if this ARP VA will not appear later on... Tho the voice does not fit him at all, that voice is sooo attractive to me that I will miss it if so LOL

No, he has the same voice actor for Ao Ruipeng in 'Moonlight Mystique' and 'Coroner's Diary.' In my personal opinion, the voice suits most with Ao Ruipeng (I am so used to it and it just fits him so perfectly 😭). I prefer Cheng Lei to use his own voice but I would say in LOTFG it sounded more similar to his than his VA here (personally). I know people have their own opinions
