Title Glory Spoiler
Could someone spoil it for me: Why is the missing Madam Yang such an important case????
Her maiden family (the Yangs) married her to the Wei family for more wealth and connections. However, the Wei family abused the young Mrs. Wei horrendously. She fled to her maiden family, but they (mainly her evil brother) wouldn’t help her. So, she disappeared (but in reality was sheltered/hidden by RSB’s mother, which is why RSB continues to support Mrs. Wei/Madam Yang). Her evil brother (Yang suitor’s uncle) worked with the corrupt Governor to steal Wei property by accusing Mr. Wei of murdering the disappeared Mrs. Wei. Neither the Governor nor the Yangs want her to really be alive because then their lies and corruption will be exposed and lying to the emperor carries the death penalty. Madam Yang is branded a criminal because of fleeing her abusive husband, Mr. Wei, and deceiving the court. Therefore, for 10 years, the Rongs harbored a “criminal” despite their well-meaning good deed. Grandma is annoyed that RSB’s mother got the Rong family involved in this mess, not surprising given how cold and uncompassionate Granny is.
