The Jade Linglong entered the Prince during that fight with the sorcerer in ep 1. The Jade gives him supernatural powers and turns him into the Masked Man in Black. Jin’an nor the General know that he is actually Prince Annan even by ep 22. So we don’t know when they will learn the truth. You’ve got to realize, the story is about Jin’an not the Prince. You kinda need to forget about the Prince. He’ll come back towards the end.

I feel the General should have told the Crown Prince about why a hit was put on him. Wonder why she didn’t explain clearly? Now he’s just feeling abandoned and confused and probably gonna direct that anger at her. True, it’s not her responsibility to coddle and baby him forever, but still…. This is really going to go sideways in a big way, I believe.

The story is about JIN’AN not Prince Annan (who he was prior to memory loss). Once you accept that point, you can appreciate the story for what it actually is instead of what you assumed it ought to be. Jin’an’s story is actually pretty interesting and exciting in its own right.
