well, i don't know what gave it high rating because i dropped it after first few episodes. To me, it felt like a drama with un-natural acting, totally opposite of the likes of Nirvana in Fire, and some k-drama series. No doubt the cast itself is all famous actors, but the drama itself; can't give any positive opinions because it did not feel natural
This reminds me of an English detective series. The English are very good with this genre and stranger has the…
i would disagree. i have watched english tv series, and the only tv series of this generation i liked was bbc comedy named "Ghosts". Otherwise, no english tv series reach anywhere near k-series in terms of story, and the acting.
I just could not stick with it and had to drop it.
well, everyone's taste varies. i bet it is not your first kdrama, that's why i understand why you dropped it. This drama has the unique style that greatly diverges from now-a-days extremely-romantic, fast-paced, action-packed, over-the-top acting dramas.
excellent story and acting but、why is South Korea so corrupt I wonder? well if not I suppose we would not…
corruption is everywhere. the fact that south koreas shows it in dramas means that they are trying to raise awareness about it among koreans. It is what i call positive use of media.
My first kdrama and still unbeatable after one and a half year of watching kdramas.loved every aspect of it
same here. "Stranger" along with "Kingdom" were my first k-dramas, and they set the bar for k-dramas too high for me. Now i rarely find any k-drama worth watching just because i watched those two dramas first.
It was among my first ever k-dramas i watched, along with Kingdom, which was fortunate and unfortunate at the same time. The fortunate was that i found best dramas alternative of western media bcz western media has gone trash now a days. The unfortunate was the fact that both dramas set my expectations and standards for k-dramas selection too high, hence now i rarely find a single k-drama worth my standards and taste.
such amazing dramas both "stranger" and "kingdom" were.
cdrama are rarely master piece, bcz they involve too much romance and "cheesy" stuff. so, i have always preferred kdrama over cdrama. but nirvana in fire and luoyang are the only exception to that. though no historical drama that i have seen lives up to the mark of nirvana in fire, both luoyang and kdrama "six flying dragons" cut too close to it.

What do you mean, this is much lighter than season 1, and has a happy ending.
just reuniting with his loved one happy ending only for him. in trailer, the prime minister was alive and hugging the youngest lord. The bride of rebel was talking directly with young lord. the elder son was shown on floor crying with extreme craziness. none of these was in drama.
though i am not fan of LGBT drama category, the skit was quite funny. acting was good, and the open plot was good as well. Especially the ending was very funny, and i finally understood some of the points in drama.
