Wasn't expecting for Myeongji to expose Hana like that (to Seyoung) so early ... I thought it would take 10 more episodes but nope.

So the plot is moving... faster than I expected it to. Considering how the show opened up with Hana playing piano with her birth mom, I wonder if she'll be showing up? I hope so. I'll take that over this affair storyline/the multiple scenes of Seyoung being a jerk to Hana.

Interestingly enough, of the four lead characters, I'm only really cheering for Hana since she's really the victim of the other 3 (in different ways). Don't shoot me but I actually like Jiseok and Seyoung as a couple lmao. As the lies get deeper I don't see Jingoo and Hana lasting once his involvement behind the scenes gets exposed. But I could honestly care less who ends up with who rn. I'm not really watching this for the romance - I rarely watch dramas for the romance - I'm here for the scheming, drama and fraud (which this drama is definitely delivering on...)

That being said Hana, Eunchong and a happy ending is what I'm rooting for... but with how everyone is linked together rn, I'm so curious....

This drama is getting so messy and I am loving every second of it...

That (Jingoo punching Jiseok) was the most obvious fake punch I've ever seen in an drama 😭😭😭

Finished episode 41. Yoooo.... they picked a very good cliffhanger to leave off for the Lunar New Year 💀💀💀 that preview... What did Yeojin see that got her shook? What is Seyoung going to realize about the picture of Hana and Duna?

Anyway of the main four, hands down Hana is my favorite... Seyoung is my second favorite (I actually understand her character so I don't hate her as much as everyone else does 🤷🏾‍♀️...) Jingoo is just "there" and Jiseok... has potential for growth. The story is starting to slow down a bit, but that's expected. I just hope it doesn't slow down too much

It's really crazy how this entire situation (well, the entire drama) could've been avoided if Myeongji did the right thing as a mother and held young Seyoung accountable and told Yeojin the truth about what happened. If anything, Yunjin and Seyoung probably would've gotten in trouble for sneaking out of Sungho's car, which is miniscule compared to the butterfly effect that Myeongji's lie set off.

If you liked the actress who played Jugyeong I highly recommend you watch Witches Game. She plays the villain in it and it's one of the most intense dailies I've ever watched. It's also written by the same woman who wrote one of my favorite dailies, ice Adonis/yellow boots (which I HIGHLY recommend. It was a tvn daily from 2012)

I want to watch Cheongdam Scandal so bad .... I like the lead actress Choi Jungyoon. I could watch the dub, I would probably just watch it unsubbed (or maybe use that as motivation to study Korean lol) low-key manifesting it gets uploaded onto KOCOWA since they usually upload old dailies....

Myeongji wins the award for most toxic k-drama mother. When she told Seyoung that she should just kill herself I actually recoiled like YIKESSSS

I've heard other kdrama characters throw that line before but they usually never say it to their kids, or it's played for laughs... Myeongji was completely serious... just look at the way the camera dramatically zoomed in on Seyoung when she said that.

No wonder Seyoung is so messed up... Myeongji is a narcissist and is using her to fulfill her dream as Hyesung's first lady. I empathize because my mom is unfortunately very similar so want her to break out of this toxic dynamic so bad, just as I had to 😭

Ji Suwon's duality is crazy though, it feels like I'm watching a completely different woman from in Vengeance of the Bride (if you want to see her play in a good role!)

This Seyoung Jingoo and Jiseok love triangle is ... starting to get real annoying to watch. Seyoung is a cheater, I don't really like Jiseok after the events of last week or how he goes about his revenge (he really thinks he's Light Yagami, lmao. Can't wait to see him get humbled) , and Jingoo is just lost in the sauce. I'm about to start fast forwarding through their scenes because we all know Seyoung /Jingoo relationship was dead on arrival

I'm not surprised Sungho & Yeojin didn't end up meeting, but at least it's not because he got killed off* (as I feared)

It's interesting, right? I use Kocowa for my dramas ... But for American shows I use Hulu/peacock/max/whatever and they don't cut the opening credits out... same with anime on Crunchyroll. It must be a cultural difference! Shame, because some of those are really well made!

omg??? Kim Soon-ok is my favorite screenwriters too! If you haven't you should totally watch sister is alive and jang Bori is here (that's where my icon is from lmao) Those aren't dailies but they're those makjang 50 ep dramas. My Daughter, Geum Sawol is similar (also written by Kim Soon-ok) but I haven't actually watched it (yet!!!) so I can't really recommend it

Temptation of an angel I do recommend... And if you want a real classic makjang to watch (also by Kim Soon-ok) I highly recommend Temptation of a Wife. It's a daily and it's probably the best revenge makjang I've seen... iirc that was actually the drama that made Kim Soonok famous.

I watched penthouse season 1&2 as they aired but I wasn't able to watch penthouse 3 due to irl events and still haven't gotten around to watching it

Also. .. re: man in a veil . I'll say that with makjangs, sometimes if you come back to them, you'll be able to watch them. Like with the Promise with Lee Yuri.... I watched that back in 2017 but I couldn't get into it. I rewatched it in 2023 and now it's one of my favorite dailies! Some dailies are like a bottle of wine, they're better with age 😭

My guess is he will try to stop it, but from a distance and in a way that will try to avoid hurting Hana and Eunchong as collateral damage... how he will do that, idk ...

Just as I predicted, Jiseok continues to have a frog in his throat about his revenge plans, alienating Jichang, Jieun and Hana further. The fact that all three of them asked him to just say it but instead of a direct answer we get more passive aggressive comments about how they are making a mistake.... ok.

I feel like Jichang's comment "no, you're going to regret this" is foreshadowing for something that will happen in the future. I do like the portrayal of the Gu family... theyre dysfunctional because of the shared trauma of losing their parents. It's realistic...

Jichang remains my favorite of the 3 siblings but I had to laugh when Jieun did the hair flip before leaving Seyoung in the hallway. She's grown on me a lot.

Not only did we get our first skincare PPL scene, but Jichang is opening up a restaurant. Stella Ddeobokki, Frank Burger, or something new? 😂

I am currently watching secret house rn! Jihwan is really doing his thing (and I like Seo Hajoon too! I also currently watching Phoenix 2020 only for him lmao. I'll get to the two sisters later...) I love how it feels relatively darker compared to other daily dramas... Now I'm still somewhat early on but I will say that taehyung and his mom m make giyun and his mom look like amateur villains. It's building up into a great story so I definitely recommend it!

The two sisters... I actually tried watching that as it aired, but I ended up dropping it. However, I read some comments that said that Hyewon turns into a antihero. I also did like Bae Doeun and as you mentioned, Seo Hajoon shows up... I'm also a fan of Lee Soyeon bc ofiss Monte Cristo and temptation of an angel, so I think I am going to watch that again!

All I could think about during that scene was that I would've probably gotten fired that day because I would've hit her back.

The biggest thing I want to see is whether or not Yeojin really becomes the "shield for Hana", in regards to Seyoung and Myeongji's clownery and tricks...

If she does, I can't wait because those scenes will be so satisfying to watch...
