I think it is also cruel to try to immediately displace a bereaving family from their house as an in-law. I wonder... If Mai were successful in taking the house, would Jini still have moral obligation to donate, even if she were made homeless? The full picture is that the family dynamic created an environment where an obvious decision (save the child) comes with a lot of toxic politics, which complicates matters.
The main disadvantage of bone marrow donation is negative side effects like fatigue (Jini passing out) and pain at the incision site. Of course there's always a risk for complications mid procedure as well...
I can say that if I were Jini I would donate to Oreum however I would not stay anonymous and let the family sit the discomfort that I was the donor and let them cope with their complicated feelings. I'm sorry for Mai and Seunghyun but Oreum being sick doesn't undo the harm they did. It also don't absolve them from their previous acts.
