Yet again, all evil in this drama can be traced to Myeongji. I'm sure she didn't mean it but she's the one who put the idea in Yeojin's head. Myeongji is wild for slapping Hana in the middle of the office though but it looks like the clown comes back to bite next episode. It was so satisfying seeing Yeojin shut everything down... but it definitely won't be as satisfying as seeing Myeongji getting banned from Hyesung tomorrow ð
Something interesting that came up this episode... Yeojin asked Ms. Jang to dig up Hana's birth family. I think Hana's birth mother is still alive, only because Ms. Jang reported that she only had a father on paper.... but in the very first scene of this drama was Hana playing the piano with her mother... Now that we know Yunjin/Duna's fate, the biggest mystery is what's happened to Hana's birth family...
Sungho moving into the guest room ð I'm excited to see his interactions with Jichang, Hana and Eunchong. I'm totally looking forward to Sungho and Jichang opening up a fast food store in the near future in true makjang fashion. I know Jichang expressed that he wanted to open a restaurant at one point, but he just needed to save money. I'm actually surprised no one has opened a store yet ...
Catching up on this today while I work (left off at episode 18). Considering how I can recognize the lead's voices, and I really don't care about the side characters, I'll know exactly when to look over at my iPad. Stay tuned for my thoughts later lol

Yeojin getting reckless actually tracks with what's going on in the story... think about it... She just found her grandson ... son of her daughter who's been missing/dead for 20 years... And she got a threatening letter that's not threatening her life but his? of course shes going to get desparate and try to do whatever she can to save her grandson.
I see a lot of people zeroing in on the safety net comment... I didn't find it offensive because realistically speaking Hana kind of is a safety net.... Because if Hana wasn't there, Eunchong would most likely be in a children's home [potentially getting adopted by someone abusive] and thus probably wouldn't have the bright personality (which he had gotten as a result of Hana's love). Well, that's my opinion on it.
Myeongji has the absolute worst timing of any villain in a makjang. ððð You'd think she was the protagonist with her bad luck. All of that planning and sneaking around for the conference to be canceled AND for the safe to be completely empty? ð see when you do clownery, the clown comes back to bite...

Since it's obvious that Jiseok and Seyoung have feelings for each other, I wonder why Jiseok is okay with Seyoung despite her being the niece of Yeojin? Or was approaching her also part of his "revenge"? I don't really remember. It was said that this was also a drama of forgiveness and I wonder if that will be on Jiseok's end. After all, when Jiseok's fake protestor came a few episodes back, there were talks that Yeojin wasn't actually a corporate raider (am I remembering this correctly?) I would prefer Yeojin getting the forgiveness over ... Myeongji. If Seyoung gets the Jacqueline Taylor (elegant empire) treatment, aka a well written redemption [for a daily, let's not get crazy here] arc where she genuinely changes and becomes allied with Hana I'm down for it. I say this because she comes off as deeply unhappy more so than evil, and I'll die on that hill
Also re: Jiseok he was a teenager when his parents died so there's a possiblity that he isn't remembering it properly. In the third marriage the 2FL spent 139 episodes chasing revenge only for it to be based on a false memory, so we'll see

(almost commented on the wrong drama's page lmao) just finished episode 25 but it looks like Yeojin approached Hana at the right time since their landlord is forcing them to move out. Jichang can/probably will probably go live with Jieun and Jiseok, but Eunchong?
Jieun was 100% right when she said Jiseok wouldn't let Eunchong move in with him (and honestly, I find the way he treats Eunchong to be the most dislikeable thing about him, next to the way he asks for information [why does he think he's entitled to know what happens in his bosses personal life just because he's the director? I'm glad Jingoo didn't fold lmao])
Sorry to jiseok but his revenge subplot isn't that interesting to me rn... outside of Richard/Sungho's involvement. I think Sungho is starting to realize there's a conflict of interest here... Will he be willing to use Hana and Eunchong as collateral damage? I don't think so. Maybe Hana, but theres no way he would be down to cause pain to his long lost grandson.
(It was amusing seeing Jiseok's mom knit, that's how I get through these dailies with a calm mind ð ) the memorial scene was nice until Jiseok started tweaking and disrespecting the food. Like maybe use your adult words and tell your siblings what's going on? Because now you just look like a jerk

I like this drama. I tried watching the previous two dramas in this time slot. Snow White's Revenge was okay (won't watch it again) but The Two Sisters was absolutely awful (dropped it around episode 30). Cinderella Game is better than both of them. I actually look forward to the episodes...
I understand what you mean by Hana, the FL. She gets better as the show goes on though. She seems like a typical FL "bright personality" AT FIRST ... but she's smarter than she looks. (I'm usually not a fan of the "bright personality types" until they switch up and get into super serious revenge mode... Usually I'll prefer the 2FL until then... But I prefer Hana to Seyoung.)
I like the ML. I think he's sweet and cute with Hana, I like the 2FL, she's more so her mother's puppet than actually evil. (This has potential for a good storyline where she finds her own path and is happier) Shin Aeri, Yeon Minjeong, Oh Hyesang, Joo Seyoung and Kang Seran would ABSOLUTELY run circles around Yoon Seyoung, who just throws fits and looks evil/unhappy. She has potential to pull a Jacqueline Taylor (the iconic 2FL from elegant empire)

I have a low tolerance for obnoxious gag characters in daily dramas - but I LOVE this drama because theyre there (jieun and jichang) but they grow on you. It's not like how in the Two Sisters where literally every character that weren't the mains was over the top and annoying.
The casting is on point. Na Younghee is one of my faves. No complaints about acting ability from me... everyone does a believable job portraying their character! And Eunchong is the most charming child character I've seen in this drama. This comment section is pretty much the Eunchong Fan Club for a reason lol
It's like the screenwriter did research on what made other dailies unpopular, and she's doing the opposite (seemingly). For instance, the characters are smarter and don't just give up valuable information for the bad guys. The bad guys (mostly Myeongji) actually have to put in work to figure things out... This makes it more enjoyable to watch
Will this drama end up on my "daily dramas I'd watch again" list? It's too early to tell. But if it keeps going how it's going, it'll probably make it on there...
