I stopped at ep 13. I love the female lead, but I just started losing interest. I was on my phone more than anything.And then at one point I realized this is the Princess's Gambit meaning the FL should be the one shining but since she's a concubine...she can't do anything. I was tired of the ML getting all the praise. Then I decided to scroll and saw some events that instantly make me not watch a drama. So I decided to drop this. Such a same. I've dropped quite a few historical dramas this year...

You are definitely not watching the show intensely enough. For every bad experience that was had with an American, there was a bad experience with a Chinese person. You just choose to focus on the American side. But this is a story about immigrant Chinese citizens trying to do there best in a foreign land and they a showing the bad and good they go through. This includes having bad experiences with Americans and there own countrymen. Id suggest you rewatch the show of you are that far and that's all you are seeing. I'm only on ep 16 and have actually counted more bad instances with there own countrymen than Americans.

Please don't let the ratings discourage you. It's a very good show. The ratings are most likely due to the subtitles. Watch this of Fresh Drama or Gikki. The subtitles are normal on those channels.

Yeah I've read other comments saying that. I don't have the patience for that. But I literally haven't watched a Xianxia since Moonlight Mystique. I've skipped every one that came out this year. I'm sure it's good I just don't have patience for Xianxia's anymore.

Sigh. I won't even waste my time. Bai Lu is my favorite actress. Watched everything she's been in. But one I'm Burnt out from Xianxia's so wasnt too excited for this but also her voice is dubbed?? No thank you. I'll pass on this. The first EP also did nothing for me. It's a shame.

I was enjoying the show at first. First two eps was giving Oh my Venus so I was excited cause that's one of my top K Dramas. I got to ep 5 and realized there's still no romance. No even a hint of a crush. And as much as I enjoyed the comedy and plot I will drop. The leads of have amazing chemistry but at this point if there is any romance it will be forced. Sigh...I'm so tired of dropping modern romance K dramas. I need them to get it together.

I hate that the female centered shows are always overlooked. This show is a masterpiece. I'm on ep 13..halfway done with the show and wish there were more episodes. I think this show could've easily been 30-40eps. The female leads are flawed and beautiful and surprisingly they tell the backstory of men without it over shadowing the show. It's so refreshing and I wish this show had more buzz.

I love slice of life! It's on my list. I have to be in the mood for time period dramas that focus on 50s-90s. I just finished Northward and another c drama similar to WLGUYT so it'll be a bit before I start it. I have high hopes for it!

I don't remember the last time I've finished a modern K drama. It has to have been at least a year. Idk what's going on but these dramas seem interesting with the plot and good looking people but they just always fall flat. Got bored on ep 2

This show is really good. Very cliche and trope filled but done correctly. Wish it was shorter though. I'm struggling to get through the last few episodes. Should've be 24 -26 eps. Not 30.

Maybe try YouTube? I'm sure someone did subtitles on there and Iqiyi has an official channel too.

The FL is just so pleasant to look it. I love when they zoom in. She looks like a painting. I became a fan of her during A Journey to Love. I'm on ep 5. I have hopes for this drama. It's really good so far and if I finish ..it'll be the first xianxia of this year that I finished. I very burnt out for God/demon/devil and glistening light xianxia so this one is very refreshing.

I think some of y'all forget these are college kids. 18-21 and a 26 year old. The 26 year old is the only one I'd expect maturity and rationality from. But the rest...the cringe, awkwardness, immaturity , fickleness and emotions are all very normal. Just enjoy the drama.

Only on ep 3 and I can tell it'll be a more generic c drama. Something we've seen before.. but I welcome it. I havent watched a historical drama in two months. I've skipped all the xianxia cause I'm sick of them and Si Jin I don't like the ML actor. His face and acting is a turn off. And I'm tired of short dramas. So this show is a welcome change from the lack of historical dramas.. to me

Not sure I can finish this. I love Sun Li and I like her character but I can't stand the ML. His black and white outtake is annoying and I know he's young but he's made enough mistakes and had enough lectures to be at least learn to change his ways. Im on ep 13 so I know I have a long way to go but I'm exhausted. Also don't like that the FL is taking on another build a man. I love the business aspect... I'm a sucked for a business drama but the ML and the ex husband and the gf are getting on my nerves.

Thanks. Don't need any recommendations. I keep up with all c dramas and I've seen most that have been released from 2016 to now. The last xianxia I truly enjoyed were a Legend of Shen Li and The Last Immortal. TTEOTM was very meh to me and I fast forward last few episodes. Only watched cause I love Bai Lu. FF I dropped...not my cup of tea. Love in Pavilion I'm looking forward to but only cause of the FL. I'm still going to try cause I've barely watches any historical dramas this year. I've either dropped them cause of storyline or the ML. There's a lot of new ML that are considered attractive that hurt my eyes. Won't mention cause they have large fanbases and don't feel like being jumped.

All these Xianxia's coming out. I'm so burnt out from the repetitive story telling but I still watch almost each one hoping for something different. With this story being withheld I don't have much hope for this story. But still going to try once it's done airing.

I'm feeling the same way. The modeling and fashion industry is strict. He would've barely even got pass the auditions with his lateness. And he won't change. He keeps blaming it on everything else.
